Paul Ciancia, 23, walked into a packed Los Angeles International Airport terminal Friday morning wearing fatigues and carrying an AR-15 assault rifle and about 150 rounds of ammunition. He started picking off Transportation Security Administration agents — sending hundreds of terrified air travelers fleeing for safety. Ciancia wrote in his note that he “wanted to kill TSA and pigs,” and was disappointed with the government, but did not want to hurt civilians, according to reports. He signed it with the letters “NWO,” an apparent reference to an anti-government group called “New World Order,” according to the Daily Mail. Apparently, authorities got wind of a potential problem with Ciancia just prior to his shooting rampage. Ciancia, of Pennsville, NJ, just south of Philadelphia, sent his younger brother a suicidal text message early Friday that prompted worried relatives to contact police. Pennsville cops reached out to LA police asking them to do a welfare check on Ciancia. But Ciancia wasn’t home when cops got to his apartment. Ciancia was shot four times during his airport gun battle, and is hospitalized in critical condition. The Ciancia family said the 23-year-old had no mental health issues, according to Philly.com. People who knew Ciancia said they were shocked that he was the alleged gunman. Ciancia’s former roommate in Los Angeles, James Mincey, said he appeared to be unemployed but never showed any disturbing qualities, such as a fascination with guns. He spoke to Ciancia last week. “He said he was going back to Jersey, going to work for his dad, and making amends with family problems … and spending holidays with his family,” Mincey told KABC-TV. So LAX is an airport I’ve been going to more than any other Airport the last 6 months, because I am all Hollywood and shit…and they got shot up today, one of the friendly TSA guys who may or may not have fondled my balls last Sunday, was killed, and the whole story is very very sad…insane and makes you wonder how good Airport security actually is, because homie shouldn’t even be at TSA with a gun, but now that this has happened, security at Airports is going to get a hell of a lot more annoying…the only tragedy is that they could have taken out a Kardashian but instead took out a poor bastard at work…. This is some real scary isht! An evacuation is currently underway at LAX after several people, including law enforcement, were injured after a gunman carrying a rifle opened fire in Terminal 3. According to CBS Local reports : Los Angeles Airport Police Friday said a shooting took place in Terminal 3 at LAX. A gunman with a high-powered rifle was reportedly shot and secured by law enforcement personnel around 9:30 a.m., according to CBS2′s Mike Case. Los Angeles Airport Police Friday said at least one suspect was in reportedly custody following a shooting at Terminal 3 at LAX. CBS’s John Miller reported that the suspect or suspects entered the terminal wearing camouflage and opened fire around 9:30 a.m., wounding at least three people. Preliminary indications show that the suspect(s) was targeting TSA employees, according to Miller. A TSA employee was reportedly shot in the leg in addition to two other people, however, CBS2/KCAL9 has not been able to confirm that report. Terminal 3 was evacuated and cordoned off and arrival and departure roads to the airport, in addition to Century Boulevard, were closed. Traffic was backed up on the westbound 105 Freeway as cars were unable to exit onto Century Boulevard. A large box of ammunition was also recovered on LAX property, Miller said. The LAPD Bomb Squad was on scene trying to clear any suspicious packages. Passenger Robert Perez told CBS2 that TSA agents came through the terminal and yelled that a man had a gun. “I heard popping and everybody dropped to the ground,” Perez said. “There are a couple hundred people standing there not knowing what to do. Mostly people exiting the airport on foot, walking down Century,” passenger Kelly Kahl said. An Australian couple thought they’d won a dream vacation when they were revealed as the “lucky” winners of a contest they’d entered online. It turns out the competition, from bogus Canada-based tour company AusCan Tours, was effectively an application to be drug mules. When the Perth couple, ages 64 and 72, returned home to Australia a little suspicious about their bags, they alerted the airport’s customs officials, who found $7 million in crystal meth stashed in the lining, the AFP reports. Australian police think the couple’s luggage was switched in Canada. A Canadian was arrested in Perth — he was apparently supposed to meet the couple upon arrival — and a raid turned up suitcases similar to those seized, related documents, and $15,000 in cash. The scam, uncovered earlier this month, apparently targeted older people, and there are “a lot of Canadians involved in this,” a reporter told the CBC, citing eight arrests over the last year and a half. Meanwhile, the victims are warning others: “Be very careful if you win anything,” the woman told the Australian. “I could have ended up in jail for 25 years, and they could have ruined my life.” How the hell did the people who planted the drugs in the first place expect to get their product back anyway?? The drug troubled former Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers star had been scheduled to travel to New York this week to spend time with his two children with ex-girlfriend Liza Morales, but cancelled at the last minute. He was later spotted with Khloe, 29, on the same day that it was announced his mother-in-law Kris Jenner and her husband Bruce had sensationally separated. The decision left Destiny, 13, and Lamar Jr., 10, “disappointed and saddened,” a source close to the children told RadarOnline.com. “The kids had expected to see their father this weekend,” the insider revealed. “They were shattered that the visit was canceled. It was to be the first time Destiny and Lamar Jr. had spent anytime with their father since the cheating and drug allegations surfaced. “In the past, when things were normal, Lamar would call and video chat with the kids on a very regular basis. Khloe even actually organized numerous visits for the kids to come to Los Angeles.” Odom, 33, has not seen the children in months, the insider added. “What made Lamar’s decision to cancel his trip all the more hard was that Destiny and Lamar Jr. know exactly what is going on with their dad because they have been teased at school,” the source added.
