Keri had been keeping quiet about the break up thus far, but she recently opened up to The Jasmine Brand about her Valentine’s Day plans which apparently don’t include a boyfriend. Umm, never drop your standards, for anyone. That’s it. And I mean that in every since of the relationship. Business, you know whatever, if there’s a certain standard that you uphold, and you’re so strong-minded. There are some things that you [can] tweak in a relationship, but not your standard. Not that. We think the U.S. justice system is pretty racist to begin with — and the laws against felons voting is just another way to rob black people from being heard — isn’t it? We’re not the only ones who feel this way. Attorney General Eric Holder is currently speaking up about how states need to repeal laws that keep felons from voting after being released from prison and he’s making quite a point if you ask us. Via WaPo reports : Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Tuesday called on states to repeal laws that prohibit felons from voting after their release from prison, urging changes that could allow millions more across the country to cast ballots. In a speech at Georgetown University Law Center, Holder said, “It is time to fundamentally reconsider laws that permanently disenfranchise people who are no longer under federal or state supervision.” Holder said that current laws forbidding felons from voting make it harder for them to reintegrate into society. He pointed to a recent study that showed that felons in Florida who were granted the right to vote again had a lower recidivism rate. “These restrictions are not only unnecessary and unjust, they are also counterproductive,” Holder said. “By perpetuating the stigma and isolation imposed on formerly incarcerated individuals, these laws increase the likelihood they will commit future crimes.” Holder does not have the authority to force states to change their laws, but his request could influence the debate to restore voting rights. His appeal is part of a broader effort underway by the Justice Department to overhaul the criminal justice system, which U.S. officials say often treats minority groups unfairly. The attorney general said that after the Civil War, laws that prohibit felons from voting were a way for post-Reconstruction states to keep blacks from casting ballots. Today, an estimated 5.8 million Americans are not allowed to vote because of current or previous felony convictions. Of those, nearly 38 percent are black. The Justice Department said that 23 states since 1997 have enacted voting rights overhauls. They include Nebraska, Nevada, Texas and Washington state. What do you think about this proposition? Others attend the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans… engage in some semi-friendly trash talk with Oklahoma supporters… and then flip the eff out on them, leaping over multiple seats/attendees in order to punch and kick her taunters. Yes, this actually took place on Friday night. The woman at the center of the madness is named Michelle Pritchett. She attended the game with her two daughters. She says she was not inebriated at the time of this incident and she says she would go on the attack again because the college kids were the ones out of control. She really said this. Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott: All Smiles on New Year’s Eve!

What cheating scandal? Tori Spelling is standing by husband Dean McDermott, at least publicly, despite recent rumors that he cheated with Emily Goodhand. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star posed with her man and two of their four children on her blog, with no sign of trouble in paradise, but holding a sign reading: “Happy New Years 2014! Love, The McDermotts.” It was the first time Spelling has posted a picture of herself alongside McDermott since Us reported that McDermott had a tryst with another woman. Emily Goodhand told the gossip magazine that she had a fling with McDermott in Toronto in December after meeting him through mutual friends. “He told me he and Tori had a sexless marriage,” Goodhand said, noting that she slept over in his hotel room two nights in a row. “I believed him.” Neither McDermott nor Spelling has commented on the rumors. However, the allegations broke, Spelling has been working overtime to show that she is securely united with her husband, cheating rumors or not. Dean McDermott Wanted Constant Sex From Tori Spelling The couple has four kids together: Liam, Stella, Hattie and Finn. The youngest is still a baby, and reportedly, this has been a point of contention for sex-starved Dean, who wants Tori to put out more than she likes. Privately, she’s lamented this to friends, and has allegedly been making Dean pay behind closed doors … while sounding happy as ever on the web. Alabama Parents Name Child "Krimson Tyde," Face Torrent of Twitter Criticism

Move over, Bear Winslet . There’s a new famous baby name for Twitter users to flip out over. Summer and Steven Steele – residents of Andalusia, Alabama – have shown their pride for Nick Saban’s national title-winning football team by naming their newborn daughter Krimson Tyde. And the Internet has responded in kind… or not so in kind, to be more accurate. “I would despise my parents if they named me Krimson Tyde,” wrote one Twitter user upon learning of the moniker, while another added: “reevaluate your life if you name your kid “krimson tyde”. “I’m shocked, I didn’t think people would make such a big deal about it,” Summer Steele told Alabama Media Group. But not everyone is coming down hard on the couple. “I would definitely say to fulfill their fantasy. Stay Alabama fans and live every day to the fullest,” says Shane Broadhurst. “I hate that they’re having to go through that and hear a bunch of crap. You should be able to name your young’un what you want.” Broadhurst has two children, by the way. They are named Crimson Tide and Alleigh Bama. Jesse Jackson: Phil Robertson More Offensive Than Rosa Parks’ Bus Driver

Jesse Jackson has opted to weigh in on Phil Robertson and his inflammatory comments, calling the Duck Dynasty star worse than Rosa Parks’ bus driver. While Robertson’s anti-gay comments in GQ got him suspended by A&E and ignited a national controversy, he made other eyebrow-raising statements as well. Specifically, he said the Nazis needed Jesus, and opined that African-Americans were happier and not mistreated in pre-civil rights era Louisiana. Collectively, the interview spurred Jackson into action. “These statements uttered by Robertson are more offensive than the bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama, more than 59 years ago,” Jackson told ABC News. Why does he think Robertson’s comments are worse? “At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law,” said the 72-year-old minister. “Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was ‘white privilege.'” Jackson, his Rainbow PUSH Coalition and GLAAD want to meet with A&E execs, along with Cracker Barrel’s CEO, to discuss the future of the show. He wants to meet within 72 hours with A&E and Cracker Barrel, a major Duck Dynasty sponsor, to urge the network to uphold Robertson’s suspension. Jackson and GLAAD said that they believe it’s not right for a personality with such a large platform to benefit from such comments or to go unpunished. Phil Robertson: Not Sorry For Anti-Gay Comments Don’t look for an apology, however, from the religious Robertson. Sunday, he defended himself and comments about gays being sinners to his Bible study group in West Monroe, La., while hitting back at his critics. “I will not give or back off from my path,” he reportedly said. Robertson added that his GQ comments were quotes from the Bible. “I didn’t think much of it at all, but it seems a lot of other people did,” he said. Race Matters: Former KKK Leader And His Mother Indicted For Cross-Burning In Black Neighborhood

Isht is real out here. Former KKK Leader And Mother Indicted In Cross-Burning When will the hatred stop? According to Raw Story: An Alabama grand jury indicted a former Grand Cyclops in the racist vigilante group the Ku Klux Klan in the town of Ozark on Wednesday. The man was charged with burning a cross at the entrance to an African-American neighborhood. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 28-year-old Steven Joshua Dinkle was indicted on five counts by the grand jury, including obstruction of justice. His mother, Pamela Morris, a former secretary for the local KKK was also indicted on perjury charges for lying to the grand jury about the incident. On May 8, 2009, Dinkle and another man reportedly erected a cross and set it ablaze in a predominantly African-American neighborhood in Ozark with the intention of frightening and intimidating the residents. The counts against Dinkle further state that he obstructed justice by lying to local investigators about his role in the cross-burning and to federal investigators in 2012. Dinkle told investigators he had ended his association with the Klan six months before the incident and denied knowing others involved with the crime. Morris, said the grand jury, lied on at least two separate occasions in her testimony. She lied about her son’s involvement with the cross burning incident and about her own involvement with the hate group. She faces a maximum statutory sentence of five years in prison and a possible fine of up to $250,000 on each count of perjury. Dinkle, if convicted, faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines for charges of conspiracy and criminal interference. He faces another maximum 10-year sentence for charges of the use of fire to commit a federal felony and a 20-year maximum sentence and possible $250,000 for making false statements to local investigators. He also faces a maximum 5-year sentence and $250,000 fine for making false statements to the FBI. The case is still the subject of a joint investigation by the FBI, the Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Ozark Police Department. Further charges and indictments could be pending. Damn shame. Who keeps a deer as a pet? Deer Blinds Man In Eye After Charging Him A dog or cat would have kept him company just fine and he probably would still have a functional eye. According to Fox News: An Alabama man has been charged with illegally keeping deer as pets, including one buck that mauled and partially blinded him. State wildlife officials said Friday that they charged Julius Dunsmore with illegally possessing seven deer. Dunsmore said that he has kept deer as pets for years without any problems. He walked into a holding pen on Nov. 30 and was attacked by a large buck that he adopted after its mother was killed by a car. The deer’s antler severed the optic nerve leading to an eye. Authorities killed the deer because once they are held by humans, they cannot be released to the wild, Al.com reported. They are awaiting lab results to determine if the animals were infected. Dunsmore, 69, said deer are extremely dangerous and he cautioned anyone from keeping them as pets. Wildlife officials said bucks sometimes attack during the breeding season. “Illegally held captive deer in Alabama have caused numerous serious injuries and one fatality in recent years,” Kevin Dodd, an enforcement chief with the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, told Al.com. Hate Crimes: Alabama Man Hires KKK To Hang Black Neighbor ‘Like An Animal’ And Cut Off His Peen

Racism is still alive and kicking… Alabama Man Hires KKK To Hang Black Neighbor Via Talking Points Media reports: Allen Wayne Densen Morgan, a 29-year-old veteran from Munford, Ala. entered a guilty plea in federal court Thursday for attempting to hire what he thought were Ku Klux Klansmen to murder his neighbor. According to court documents, Morgan told an undercover FBI agent he wanted to see his neighbor “hung from a tree like he is an animal” and “his dick cut off” over accusations that the man, a convicted sex offender, had raped his wife. An affidavit given by FBI Special Agent Cornelius Harris Jr. in support of a criminal complaint filed Aug. 26 explains that Morgan believed his neighbor, Clifford Maurice Mosley, raped his wife earlier that month. Records show that Mosley, who is African American, was arrested in 2008 for sexual abuse, a fact Morgan was aware of. Harris wrote that Morgan told an undercover FBI agent he responded to the alleged rape by attempting to “force a confrontation” with Mosley on Aug. 22 by firing “multiple rounds of ammunition” at Mosley on the street outside their homes. “Mosley fled on foot as Morgan fired several shots in the ground beside him in an effort to intimidate him,” explained Harris. “Morgan assessed that Mosley must be guilty of the rape of his wife because Mosley never tried to defend himself by standing his ground or offering to reason with Morgan.” Shortly after this incident, Harris said an undercover FBI agent who identified himself as a Klansman called Morgan in order to “verify his desire to murder” Mosley. According to the complaint, during that conversation, Morgan described the shooting incident and said he would meet with the agent on Aug. 25 to arrange payment. The undercover agent claimed he was “en route to Tennessee to pick up a partner to take care of this matter for Morgan.” “Morgan advised that he and his family are supportive of the plan to murder Clifford Maurice Mosley,” Harris wrote, adding that Morgan said his father-in-law and mother-in-law wanted “to dynamite the entire block.” Harris also quoted Morgan as having provided detailed instructions about how exactly he wanted Mosley to be killed by the Klan. Four People Implicated In Child Freaky Flick Probe Found Dead Their deaths still won’t take away the thousands of children traumatized by being forced to make freaky flicks. According to The NY Daily News Four people found dead inside a car abandoned on a secluded Alabama road were implicated in a Tennessee child freaky flick probe and may have killed one another in a bizarre murder-suicide pact, authorities said. Two of the four unidentified victims were charged in the investigation and were scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday — the same day their bodies were discovered in the William B. Bankhead National Forest, about 60 miles northwest of Birmingham, officials said. The other two victims had been implicated in the kiddie freaky flick case, but not charged, officials said. Officials said all but one of the four victims — three men and one woman ranging in age from their mid-20s to early-50s — were related. “They all died of gunshot wounds, and at this point we’ve ruled out any type of hostile drug takeover, a drug deal gone bad, or anything like that,” Winston County Sheriff Rich Harris told The Cullman Times. “We’re exploring the possibility of some self-inflicted suicide, or murder-assisted suicide between the four. Forensics is doing a trajectory investigation now.” Police said a passerby on her way to work spotted the abandoned vehicle just off County Road 327 in Double Springs. It was not clear why the victims ended their doomed journey in the wooded area, but investigators believe they had been staying in some local hotels over the past week, the paper reported.
