Lady Gaga’s New Album Will Be ‘Insane’

‘Look out for the unexpected when it comes to her,’ Gaga’s co-manager says of the follow-up to Born This Way. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images If there’s one positive that Lady Gaga fans can take from her decision to cancel a June 3 concert in Indonesia , perhaps it’s this: at least she’ll have more time to work on her album. Yes, though she’s currently in the midst of a two-year world tour, Gaga is already hard at work on the follow-up to 2011’s Born This Way and, according to her co-manager, she’s going to push the boundaries even further this time around (which is sure to please those Indonesian Islamic groups ). “There’s a lot of work to come, [I’m] very excited about it,” Vincent Herbert revealed in a new interview with website That Grape Juice. “[It’s] just [an] insane, great record. She’s on tour right now, but it’s just going to be a great record. Look out for the unexpected when it comes to her. We’re doing it on the road right now, so it’s a little hard, but it’s going to be great.” Herbert wouldn’t reveal specifics — tentative release date, title, who she’s been working with, etc. — about the new album, but the news that she’s recording on the road is actually in keeping with the way she began work on Born This Way, when standout tracks like “Marry The Night” took shape with producer Fernando Garibay during her long-running Monster Ball Tour. “I just kind of got on the American leg of the tour … and she goes, ‘I want to write another song that can define where I’m at with this album and my life,’ ” Garibay told MTV News last year. “I go back to the studio bus; I’m just working on parts … and then, two hours later, she comes offstage and she goes, ‘Do you have something to play me?’ And I go, ‘I do, actually.’ “So I played her the instrumental for ‘Marry the Night,’ and she goes, ‘Open up a mic,’ ” Garibay continued. “She starts laying down the whole song, like, off the cuff … right off the stage, using the energy of that crowd and going into the studio, it was amazing. I can’t compare it to anything.” What do you hope the Born This Way follow-up will sound like? Tell us in the comments section! Related Artists Lady Gaga

Breakups: Paris Hilton Gets Kicked Curbside By Swirly Dutch DJ Boo Thang

Poor Paris . Paris Hilton Dumped By Boyfriend DJ Afrojack Things are really looking down for Paris Hilton right now. Her career is on the downswing, the Kardashians rule the world and her half-black boo thang just wants to be free — from her. According to RadarOnline reports : Paris Hilton and DJ AfroJack have called it quits after dating for around six months, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. “Afrojack had moved into Paris’ Beverly Hills mansion earlier this year, and the two got very serious, very fast,” a source close to the former couple tells RadarOnline.com. “Paris was really into him and admires the work he has done. Afrojack did a lot of the work on Paris’ new album which will be released later this year. He took a lot of criticism for working with her, but he truly does believe that she has talent. Paris was smitten with him, but Afrojack just wanted to have fun and not be exclusive with anyone. He is on the road practically every day performing in clubs all over the world, and he just isn’t ready to settle down, whereas Paris is.” As RadarOnline.com previously reported, 31, is working on completing a second follow up album six years after the release of her first one which sold only 197,000 copes. Paris has been focusing “all of her creative energy into her second album,” a source close to the former reality star says. “Paris has been working with Flo Rida, LMFAO and David Guetta, and the album should be released this summer,” a source previously told RadarOnline.com. “Paris hopes to embark on a European concert tour to promote the album, which will consist of house music. She knows she has a lot riding on this project because her last reality show was canceled and she needs to do something to re-invent herself. Paris is hoping to appeal to a broader fan base and would love to use the album as a platform for a possible project with MTV. Yes, Paris is a very successful businesswoman, and she is about to release her fifteenth fragrance, but that isn’t enough for her. Paris craves the attention from the media and her fans and she is truly feeling the pressure to deliver on this, because she doesn’t have any other television or movie projects lined up.” Meanwhile, Paris is likely to take her recent breakup hard, as friends of the socialite tell us, “Paris is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that she just doesn’t have the popularity or cache that she did five years ago. Paris has tons of money, but that isn’t enough for her. Look, she is still going to clubs on a very frequent basis and she is 31 years old. You don’t see a lot of people over 30 going to clubs, it’s almost sad to see. Paris would love to be married with kids, it’s all she ever talks about, but she hasn’t found her Prince Charming yet and she isn’t getting any younger.” Poor Paris. All that money can’t buy her love from fans or a nice boo. Oh well, she can always shop at Chanel. W ENN/PacificCoastNews

Pusha T Has Become ‘A Student’ Of The-Dream

‘I’ve learned so much about song structure from Dream,’ G.O.O.D. Music MC tells MTV News from his studio. By Nadeska Alexis, with reporting by Rahman Dukes The-Dream and Pusha T Photo: MTV News Pusha T is laser-focused on his debut album at the moment, trying to craft a cohesive musical project. But if you thought the G.O.O.D. Music signee would hole up in the studio with his boss, Kanye West, think again. Over the weekend, MTV News caught up with Pusha in Atlanta, where he was in the studio working closely with The-Dream. The two first linked up when producer RicoBeats sent one of Push’s tracks to Dream for a feature and eventually collaborated on a few more things. In addition to lending his vocals to the album, The-Dream has been guiding Pusha through the recording process, helping him take his work to a new level. “It really started with this beat [from] Rico. We were like, ‘Yo, Dream would just sound amazing on the record, period.’ So we sent it out and it came back so quick. Dream was like, ‘Man this is one of the ones,’ ” Pusha recalled. “Personally, I never thought the record was going to come back that quickly. I was in New Orleans somewhere and Rico was like, ‘Aye! Dream did it — he on the phone!” I thought, “OK, wait a minute this might really be something.” Pusha wouldn’t reveal exactly how many tracks the two had banked together, but he explained why the R&B singer/producer is the perfect fit for this album. “Musicality, to me in general, is missing, but [Dream] is a musician, he’s a fundamentalist. I’ve really taken on the student role,” Pusha continued. “I feel like I’m in with the best of the best. You’ve got Dream on one end, you’ve got Kanye on another end, and you can learn so much. I really look at myself as just a rapper’s rapper, but I’ve learned so much about song structure from Dream. ‘This is the most I’ve ever rewritten,” he added. “I wrote the ‘Automatic’ record, sent it to Dream, and he was like, ‘Aye, you rapping too damn much,’ and I’m like, ‘OK.’ How [would you not] listen to the writer of everything? How [would you not] listen to the producer of everything?” The-Dream was just as enthusiastic about working with Pusha on the album. “I always personally felt like he was one of the best at what he did, period,” Dream said. [There’s] lots of guys that are great from a rap standpoint, but in songs they’re not as great. Sometimes [you need to say], ‘Hey, move this part here and this is your hook,’ or ‘Let’s write about this, or let’s tap that emotion and let’s not rap past the emotion of where it is.’ ” For the producer, who has banked countless hits for stars like Rihanna and Beyonc
