Celebrities from around the world and around every industry came together last night for Stand Up to Cancer, a telethon on every major network that was dedicated to raising money to combat this terrible disease. Among the highlights, Taylor Swift debuted the track “Ronan,” a single she wrote with Maya Thompson, whose 3-year-old son Ronan died of neuroblastoma last year. Gabby Douglas Does Gymnastics During Alicia Keys-Nicki Minaj VMA Performance

The Fierce Five – Gabby Douglas, 16, McKayla Maroney , 16, Kyla Ross, 15, Jordyn Wieber, 17, and Aly Raisman, 18 – appeared at the MTV VMAs last night. One of America’s gymnastics golden girls in particular made her presence felt, however, during Alicia Keys’ performance of “Girl on Fire” late in the show. Midway through the song, Nicki Minaj appeared on stage to perform her verse, which included a shout-out to Douglas, who then tumbled onto the stage!

On September 7, A-listers from across Hollywood will once again come together. In order to Stand Up to Cancer. The third telethon will raise money for cancer research and be broadcast simultaneously on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, BIO, E!, Encore, HBO, HBO Latino, ION Television, LMN, Logo, MLB Network, mun2, Palladia, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, Starz, Style, TBS and VH1 at 8 p.m. EST. With Taylor Swift , Alicia Keys, Coldplay and Tim McGraw set to perform, the stars involved will include: Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Jessica Biel, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Seth Rogen, Emma Stone, Simon Baker, Jordana Brewster, Diem Brown, Dana Delany, Chelsea Handler, Marg Helgenberger, Rashida Jones, Minka Kelly, Joe Manganiello, Jillian Michaels, Masi Oka, Ana Maria Polo and Alison Sweeney. The first two telecasts took place on September 5, 2008 and September 10, 2010 and, to date, have raised more than $180 million for this important cause.

Kate Middleton Tops Vanity Fair Best Dressed List!

In stunning news, the fashionable Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has topped the annual Vanity Fair best-dressed list again this year. Just like 2010 and 2011. The magazine lauds 30-year-old Kate’s recognition of British designers like Alexander McQueen, Alice Temperley and Matthew Williamson, among others, and for her mix of higher- and lower-end styles, many of which she even re-wears. She’s the people’s princess, after all! Joining the Olympic fashion trend-setter is her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, who makes the list for the first time ever (William did not make the list). There’s major Hollywood representation on the roster, as well, with newcomer Jessica Chastain also landing atop the list, along with Diane Kruger. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys represent music, while the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady and the N.Y. Giants’ Victor Cruz earn top athletic style props. Matt Lauer, Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet and designer Stella McCartney are also praised for their senses of style in the September 2012 issue. What do you think?
