Miley Cyrus has taken a break from Twerking to shower The Disney Channel with praise. In response to the news – reported last week by TV Guide – that Good Luck Charlie will introduce a character with lesbian parents on its fourth season, Cyrus has taken to Twitter in shock and awe. “is this true?!?!?! I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation,” Cyrus wrote yesterday. “They control…so much of what kids think! Life isn’t bright sets & wardrobe & kids becoming superstars! This is INSPIRING” Cyrus has long been an advocate of gay and lesbian rights. She has an equal sign tattooed on her finger and wrote an editorial last year in defense of gay marriage . Anticipating backlash over its casting, meanwhile, a Disney Channel spokesperson told TV Guide in a statement: “This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors…Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”
Scottie Pippen has been arrested for felony assault. The NBA Hall of Famer is accused of attacking an autograph seeker outside Nobu restaurant last night, and this was no run-of-the-mill fight. Allegedly, the man was knocked unconscious after Scottie Pippen punched him in the face and kicked him repeatedly before leaving the scene. Pippen turned himself in to authorities in Malibu today. The 47-year-old is being booked for assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, a felony; it’s unclear what prompted the altercation Sunday. It certainly doesn’t sound good, however. According to TMZ, the victim was taken to a hospital after suffering broken teeth, a swollen mouth and unspecified injuries to his head and back. Story developing …
Isht just got real… Nahla Aubry Booted From Kindergarten List By Mothers Of Other Children At The School Aside from the obvious confusion associated with being four years old and having your dad go to blows with your mom’s boyfriend in public, lil celebrity seed Nahla Aubry has now also been booted from her Hollyweird mom Halle’s first choice for Kindergarten as a result of the altercation. via Celebrity Laundry Halle has been touring schools across Los Angeles, searching for the perfect kindergarten program for her 4-year-old daughter Nahla. She loved the Buckley School, but it didn’t love her! A mom insider reported to Star Magazine, print edition January 14, 2013, “She is full of drama and always has trouble with her men. The moms are concerned.” Apparently, the other moms at the school feel like Halle can’t handle her brawlin’ boo-thang and want no parts of her babydaddy drama. And at $300,000 for tuition, the feel like they should be able to have a say so. Olivier and Gabriel got into a brutal fight after threats were exchanged on school grounds while attending Nahla’s play! If school is going to be the middle ground between Nahla’s two homes, there will be a lot of opportunity for new threats, new fights, and new drama! No mom wants to put her kids in that situation. So instead of bending over backwards for the celeb mom, the moms of Buckley School have just booted her off the acceptance list entirely. “We pay a lot of money for this school, and the last thing we want is trouble,” explained one mom insider. SMH. Word on the street is that Halle and Gabe have since reached an agreement for now. Hopefully it’s for the long term so Nahla won’t have to keep going through craziness.
Jesus take the wheel … NYC Boy Murdered After Refusing To Hand Over $600 Jacket A 16-year-old boy is dead, after being shot Friday night on the Lower East Side. Via NYPost reports: A Lower East Side teenager by the name of Raphael Ward was senselessly slaughtered after he refused to hand over his trendy Marmot winter parka to a gang of thugs, police sources said yesterday. The gunman, described as 5-foot-6, 120 to 140 pounds, was wearing a dark wool hat and a ski mask when he walked up to Ward in the 32 degree cold and shot him just minutes after the altercation over the jacket, police sources said. After he was shot, a dying Ward — still wearing his bloodied parka — stumbled across the street to the Tearedhan convenience store and told workers there he had been approached by a group of people who had wanted his jacket, police sources said. The Marmot parkas can sell for as much as $600. Police are looking at security-camera video that may have captured the coldblooded murder. The victim’s stunned friend Cynthia Nieves, 14, said she met Ward just before he was gunned down. Although he didn’t tell her what was wrong, he warned her: “Go home!” “He knew they were coming back,” she said. Nicholas Ramos, 18, said he and Ward went to get a slice of pizza across from the church, but Ward “stopped to talk to somebody and I went across the street to the pizza place, and that’s when he got shot,” said Ramos. Ramos said he heard several shots, but waited a minute before he ran out to help Ward. The victim was later declared dead at Beth Israel Hospital. A young life cut short because of a simple piece of clothing, how sad. Keep the Ward family in your prayers. Tajanae Brown

Two separate brawls at 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards have dominated news for the past two days, with rumors, controversy, fists and possibly even bullets flying. Here’s a rundown of what went down, and what’s unproven: Rick Ross vs. Young Jeezy 1. The fight between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy did take place, with pushing and shoving backstage. 2. The incident with Gunplay and 50 Cent involved 50’s entourage, not 50. There was pepper spray involved, with the former allegedly taken down “by a cop.” 3. Gunplay is tight with Ross, but says his issues at the event were unrelated to Ross’ feud with Jeezy. 4. TMZ claimed there were shots fired in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center; police say no. A police spokesperson told the celebrity gossip site: “Shortly after 7:15 pm Saturday, a fight broke out in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center between two groups.” “Officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used OC spray in the process. Individuals fled the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries.” “Reports of shots fired appear to be untrue.” 5. BET also released a statement about the incident: “Tonight during a taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards 2012, an altercation between two rap entourages broke out backstage. Atlanta police and BET security quickly defused the altercation.” 6. According to the AP, “police spokesman Carlos Campos said officers responded to the scuffle at around 7:30 p.m. EST Campos says there were no shots fired.” “ Drama unfolded as two men were involved in a fist fight in the parking lot of the venue.” 7. The awards ceremony was taped Saturday, but won’t air until October 9. 8. The BET Hip-Hop Awards are a totally separate thing from the BET Awards, which went down without incident two months ago.
Perhaps this will make Miley Cyrus feel better : The singer will not be charged with criminal battery after all, following an allegation against her last week in which a nightclub attendee claimed Cyrus pushed him and struck him in the face. A surveillance video has surfaced and, according to TMZ sources, it depicts some kind of argument between Miley, Liam Hemsworth and another party at Beacher’s Madhouse in Hollywood. However, it depicts nary a punch thrown. Nor is physical violence of any kind evident on the tape, which is being passed along to the authorities. Miley and Liam have both been interviewed by detectives and both told officers that the altercation stemmed from the alleged victim bumping repeatedly into the actor’s chair. Words were subsequently exchanged, but the stars insist it did not escalate after that. With a video apparently backing her up, Cyrus can now return to the business changing up her look in the most extreme way possible.
Boosie ain’t got to jail for this… Rapper Webbie has been arrested for battery and robbery after allegedly kicking a woman down a flight of stairs and filching $340 from her pocketbook but Web tells us, none of it’s true. Via TMZ reports : According to a police report filed in Baton Rouge, LA, Webbie is accused of attacking a woman inside a Chase Suite Hotel early this morning after being banned from the premises — kicking her down two sets of stairs before swiping her purse and stealing $340 in cash. A rep for Webbie tells TMZ, the rapper met the woman behind the accusations at a party last night — but he never attacked her, or stole her money. Headbutts, drunks, kicking people down the stairs; we are really a society of classy people.
Jonathan Cantor is being held on unrelated charges. By Kara Warner Drake and Chris Brown Photo: The drama surrounding the Chris Brown and Drake dustup at an NYC nightclub on Wednesday continues, although this time, the club’s manager is in hot water. According to CBS News , Jonathan Cantor — the manager of the SoHo club where the altercation between Brown’s and Drake’s crews took place — has been arrested on unrelated charges. Cantor was reportedly brought in to New York’s 1st Precinct police station at about 2 a.m. Friday (June 15) after local authorities responded to noise complaints. Cantor was not held because of the noise violations, but because he had two outstanding arrest warrants against him. Police officers were reportedly at the club conducting a routine business inspection. Cantor was issued two summons after he was found to be in violation of the fire code and against alcohol beverage control. The club manager was arrested days after his establishment made headlines due to a violent brawl that broke out between Chris Brown and Drake’s entourages . Though rumors regarding the cause of the fight pinpointed the two musicians’ beef over Rihanna, new details emerged Thursday (June 14) that the scuffle erupted out of trash talking between Brown and rapper Meek Mill, who was sitting at Drake’s table. The “Take Care” singer alleges that he wasn’t involved because he was exiting the club at the time the fight broke out. Five people were injured in the brawl before the New York City Police Department was called in. TMZ reported that Brown and Drake were not at the club when police arrived; no arrests were made. ‘Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities,’ singer’s rep says in statement about the altercation. By Jocelyn Vena W.I.P. nightclub Photo: Shortly after Drake broke his silence about the Big Apple brawl between his camp and Chris Brown ‘s, insisting he was on his way out of the NYC nightclub at the time of the incident , Brown released a statement also proclaiming his innocence in the matter. “Chris, [girlfriend] Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP,” his rep told GossipCop.com . “They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.” In addition to the two entourages partaking in the scuffle — which not only injured Brown, but also his bodyguard, Big Pat — one bystander was also injured during the altercation . TMZ reports that a 24-year-old Australian tourist, Hollie C., had been at the club when the incident occurred and was struck by a flying bottle. “Within a few moments of noticing glass being thrown around, I saw a glass bottle headed towards me, consequently hitting me in the head,” she told the site. “I immediately started to bleed and proceeded to fall in and out of consciousness.” She was brought to the hospital, where she received stitches. She has since filed a police report. “I had to take the subway home with no money or jacket,” she added. “Nobody would even sit beside me. My friends were so scared because they did not know where I was.” Footage has since surfaced on GossipCop of Chris Brown and Meek Mill (who was with Drake and reportedly threw the bottle at Brown) leaving the club. Meek was spotted walking down the sidewalk, while Brown takes off his shirt before getting into a black SVU. Drake is also reportedly in the clip, but he is hidden in the crowd. Trey Songz was also filmed walking out of the club. The video, posted by We Mobbin DVD, implies that more footage will soon find its way online, for a price, including footage of the actual fight. Meek Mill has since denied having anything to do with the fight . The club has yet to return MTV News’ request for further comment. Related Artists Chris Brown Drake
