Bruce Springsteen Dedicates Song to Trayvon Martin

Bruce Springsteen performed a concert in Ireland yesterday, but the singer’s thoughts were clearly on a major story taking place in America: The George Zimmerman verdict that acquitted this Florida resident in the wake of his shooting of Trayvon Martin. Springsteen performed “American Skin (41 Shots),” telling the crowd before doing so: “I want to send this out as a letter back home, for justice for Trayvon Martin.” Bruce Springsteen – “41 Shots” The track was penned in 1999 after New York City police officers shot and killed an unarmed man named Amadou Diallo. Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian Tweeted her thoughts on Martin, but got in a lot of trouble for doing so. We doubt The Boss will face the same backlash.

Lil Wayne Apologizes To Family Of Emmett Till According to Rhymes With Snitch Back in February Lil Wayne came under fire for using the name of slain teenager Emmett Till as a euphemism for rough sex on the remix of Future’s single Karate Chop. At a concert in Tennessee over the weekend Lil Wayne apologized to the family of Emmett Till from the stage… During Weezy’s set at The America’s Most Wanted music festival Lil Wayne switched his lyrics on Karate Chop to apologize to the Till Family. Forget those Riley Keough rumors , THGers. A new report from Hollywood Life makes it clear: Robert Pattinson is thinking about Kristen Stewart and no one else these days. The actor is “desperately missing” his ex, an insider alleges, adding that Rob and Kristen shared a 42-minute long “tearful” phone conversation on June 27 – but it isn’t enough for Pattinson. “He seems obsessed with her,” the source says. “He thinks about Kristen all the time. Sometimes he starts to send a text, then changes his mind. It seems Rob can’t let Kristen go.” And it also seems that Kristen isn’t being allowed to let Rob go. She did not respond positively to a prank being pulled on her and her car a few days ago, when someone left a message on the latter that read “I Heart Rob.” Yes, Pattinson and Keough hung out after Stewart left for Paris Fashion Week, but they have “been friends for a couple years” and nothing more, this know-it-all says. In conclusion? Robert dumped Kristen because he could not get over her cheating. However, he feels “guilty” about it and we’re calling it now: Like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez , these two are totally getting back together.

Paula Deen Fires Legal Team, Hires "Scandal" Inspiration

The drama around Paula Deen continues today as reports say she has fired her legal team, led by the firm of Oliver Maner. Deen also fired her agent last week. Maner was defending her against a civil lawsuit filed by Lisa Jackson , a former manager of Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House that Deen co-owns. A source close to Deen says “she and her team decided the previous attorneys were out of their depth,” so she hired a replacement, Grace Speights. The Washington, D.C.-based partner in Morgan Lewis’s Labor and Employment practice brings “one of the top labor firms in the country,” says the source. Her new legal team also consists of Patricia Glaser, whom The Hollywood Reporter calls one of America’s top entertainment power lawyers this year. Deen is continuing to work with the PR firm The Rose Group and has also hired Judy Smith, the inspiration for the main character, Olivia Pope, on Scandal . In all, she hopes to rebound from her dramatic downfall, in which she lost a multitude of business deals, following her admission to using racial slurs . Deen made that revelation during a legal deposition in connection with Lisa Jackson’s civil suit, which she denies the basis for and wants thrown out.
