Teen Mom 2 Recap: Planet Fun!!!

This week on Teen Mom 2, someone is changing her Facebook, someone is “living like trash,” someone and her bad BF are living in the car, and someone copes with some potentially devastating news about her baby. There was a lot to take in. Find out who dealt with what issue in THG’s +/- recap below! Jenelle Evans has been crashing with Kieffer Delp since she got thrown out of her house. Their current abode is in her car. Minus 28 . It doesn’t get more WT than that. Nice Ed Hardy seat covers, though. Jon Gosselin would be proud. Plus 5 . Signs your relationship is in trouble? While Jenelle tries to do homework in the library, Kieffer GAMBLES rather than “stare at the wall.” Dude, you live in a CAR. Minus 60 . Kief also brings booze to bowling night at Planet Fun. This guy is the personification of the word FAIL. Plus 7 , because every other BF in America looks good right now. They get into an EPIC fight in the parking lot. Change is thrown. PSAs are aired. It’d be more entertaining if it weren’t so sad and Jenelle weren’t a parent. Minus 13 . Elsewhere, Leah Messer has to take a day off from working dental assistant to take baby Ali, who’s been suffering from a developmental disorder. Doesn’t sound good. Although Ali’s cute pink glasses are working to correct her nystagmus, she needs an MRI because her optic nerves could indicate a brain abnormality. 🙁 Poor Ali. At least Ali’s twin Aleeah takes her first steps. Plus 18 . And, from what we’ve read in recent weeks, little Ali is doing better, at least, so perhaps all will be okay. Chelsea Houska agrees once again to get back together with her baby daddy Adam. Minus 9 , because of some of the nasty things he’s said about her in the past. Her plan to “use her head, not her heart” sounds good. Plus only 7 , though, because putting it into action is harder than it sounds, especially with this douchebag. To Adam’s credit, he does help out with Aubree while Chelsea recovers from knee surgery and hits the books. Gotta focus on getting that GED, baby! Plus 15 . “In 10 years … when we get married.” Plus only 3 , because while it’s surprising he threw out the M-word at all, 10 years is more than half the span of his life. Finally, Kailyn Lowry is having trouble on the home front . Not her own, her mom’s. The guy she is dating seems to be a nightmare of Kieffer proportions. Minus 30 . “Your rooms stink,” he writes K in a note. “We don’t live like – me and your mom don’t live like trash.” Who does she think she is here, Jenelle Evans ? Plus 10 . Kailyn bails on that hellhole, and after rejecting welfare, finds her own apartment! Good for her! Even if MTV clearly paid for it or made all this up, Plus 25 girl. EPISODE TOTAL: -50! SEASON TOTAL: -44!

Best EDM Artists Of 2011

MTV counts down the top 10 electronic dance music artists of the year. By Akshay Bhansali and Adam Stewart deadmau5 Photo: Getty Images Maybe you were at the grocery store when you found yourself singing along to Afrojack’s “Take Over Control” for the hundredth time. Or maybe it was when Martin Solveig’s “Hello” was suddenly on repeat on your iPod. Whatever your moment was, it’s fair to say the American appetite for electronic dance music surged in 2011, bringing “the rave” to radio and festivals, touching every U.S. city (big and small). Even Grammy voters took notice this year, nominating Skrillex for Best New Artist and in four other categories. Afrojack, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Benny Benassi put up mainstream, chart-topping bangers. Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival and Miami’s Ultra Music Festival saw record attendance, and dance music’s biggest stars headlined a stage at every major mainstream festival: Lollapalooza, Coachella, SXSW, Austin City Limits. We’ve been covering the movement, but this year we tapped some of our EDM pros to commemorate a seminal year for the genre. MTV News’ Akshay Bhansali and Adam Stewart, MTV Coordinator of Music & Talent Rawley Bornstein and MTV World Music Director Micah McKinney sat down for a roundtable discussion — moderated by MTV News’ Sway Calloway — about the biggest players this year and crowned our top 10. Below, we reveal #10 through #3. Stick with MTV as we reveal our final two at 4:59 p.m. ET on Monday (December 12). Who will be named the Best EDM Artist of 2011? 10. Martin Solveig When Irv Gotti stopped by MTV News’ “RapFix Live” in October, he joked, “We’re just one record away from Kanye or Jay [being like]: [ sings hook to Solveig’s ‘Hello’ ] ‘I just came to say hello — Hov!’ ” Gotti was kidding, but it’s true. Rap dudes beware: Songs like “Hello” and guys like Martin have seen such widespread success that the hip-hop industry, which has long enjoyed club and radio dominance, is shook. In addition to being a technically superior producer and DJ, Solveig has also proven to the world that he has a sense of humor. His “Smash” video series — including “Hello,” “Initial S.H.E,” “Ready 2 Go” and “Big in Japan” — are some of the funniest and most well-produced clips of any genre. Kudos to Martin and his “manager” Lafaille for making us laugh and dance in 2011. 9. Ti

Nicole Scherzinger Speaks on Rachel Crow Ousting

For the record, Nicole Scherzinger did not send Rachel Crow home on Thursday night. This X Factor judge instead chose to let America decide between the 13-year old and Marcus Canty, yet Scherzinger is the panelist facing the harshest fan rebuke after Crow’s name was called for elimination . “My heart comes from the right place, so I get really sensitive when people are negative,” the former Pussycat Doll told reporters after the show. “Don’t [critics] know I only want the best for every single person?” Nicole added that she thought Canty would be selected by voters, though they never got a chance to hear Crow’s incredible survival song . “When I saw that look on her face, [I felt] that I had let her down, like I dropped her,” Scherzinger, who shed tears for 30 minutes after the episode, said. “I could have been holding on and I dropped her. She is the sunshine of our show, so it’s hard to see her cry.” Crow, however, has come out and said the public should not blame Nicole , while the young crooner’s fortunes are already looking up: sources say Disney has requested a meeting with Rachel.

Rachel Crow on X Factor Elimination: Don’t Blame Nicole!

It was the most emotional scene of The X Factor season: Rachel Crow, 13, falling into sobs as soon after she eliminated from the competition this week… while the crowd booed Nicole Scherzinger for not casting a vote that would have saved the contestant. After the show, however, Rachel was far more calm than many in the audience. Rachel Crow Sings for Survival “I am not feeling the greatest, but I will be fine,” the singer told the press, adding of Scherzinger: “She told me that she was sorry. I don’t know why she said that… I told her it was okay and not her fault.” Considering the hate-filled messages directed at Nicole and Paula Abdul last week, Crow also issued this plea to fans: “I want to say to all those people, ‘Stop, Please.’ [Scherzinger] is the nicest person and the most beautiful person inside and out… She is amazing, and I don’t understand why people are taking it out on her. It’s no one’s fault. It’s not even America’s fault. It’s no one person’s fault. It’s just what God had in store for me. And I will be okay.” Do you think Rachel should have been voted out?

Who Won America’s Next Top Model?

America’s Next Top Model courted some major controversy on its season finale tonight, as finalist Angela Preston was disqualified… with little explanation provided. Sources say she was given the boot for leaking spoilers about the cycle, while some go as far as to validate this claim… and add that she was actually named the winner, until The CW was forced to reshoot the finale. The network, meanwhile, simply said in a statement: “After production wrapped on the current cycle of America’s Next Top Model , we learned information that made Angelea ineligible and she was subsequently disqualified from the competition. As a result, new scenes were filmed to address this for the audience during the finale.” That shocking development resulted in a rather anti-climactic conclusion, but Lisa D’Amato took home the crown after dominating on the runway. For winning the first-ever All-Stars cycle, Lisa earned a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl, along with a spread in Vogue Italia and a guest correspondence role on Extra . “It’s crazy! It’s absolutely crazy! I feel incredible,” said the 30-year old after hearing her name called as the champion. “To be honest, my confidence actually comes from a very vulnerable place. It’s not that I’m over-confident. It’s just that I have to life myself up every day. I have a lot to prove. I feel like the universe finally came around for me and I’m not going to let anybody down. I won America’s Next Top Model All Star. It’s pretty damn cool.”
