Week in Review: Real Talk Is Scary, Y’All

It was a week for real talk ’round these parts at Movieline HQ, with everything from Halloween to Lindsay Lohan’s latest legal woes bringing everyone to terms with the truth. Like the fact that no matter how many Halloweens you live through, you’ll never match Heidi Klum’s level of kookiness. Then the awful truth about the monster flop The Wolfman broke, and America’s favorite sparkly vampire dropped some cineaste science all over the Twilight crowd. What’s going on around here?

Kelly Clarkson Recalls ‘American Idol’ Reservations

‘We were just like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is really what I want to do,’ because it’s a lot,’ Clarkson tells MTV News of the night she won ‘Idol.’ By Christina Garibaldi Kelly Clarkson Photo: MTV News It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 10 years since Kelly Clarkson was crowned the first winner of “American Idol.” Since then, she has become one of the most successful “Idol” alums ever, releasing five albums (her latest, Stronger, landed the #2 spot on the Billboard albums chart ), winning two Grammy Awards and solidifying herself as a pop diva who belts out powerful breakup anthems . Yet, looking back on that night that America voted her the winner, Clarkson recalls her hesitation in becoming the pop star she always imagined herself to be. “Honestly, even the night I won, I remember Justin [Guarini] and I talking. We were just like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is really what I want to do,’ because it’s a lot,” Clarkson revealed to MTV News. “But I just really loved singing, and at the end of the day, it’s worth it.” Clarkson has made the most of her time since that night in 2002, but has this journey been exactly how she pictured it? “Actually, this is exactly what I thought it was gonna be like,” Clarkson said. “I never was that kid that was, like, smoke and mirrors. I knew it was going to be hard work, and I knew there’d be a lot of sacrifice.” Even with all her successes over the years, there have been some low points for Clarkson as well. Prior to the release of her third album, My December, it was publicly known she was at odds with her label over the album. But Clarkson said, if given the opportunity, she wouldn’t change anything about that time in her life or her career. “Not even the crappy stuff,” she said. “Because it all builds your character. It molds you, and you go through it for a reason. No, I wouldn’t change anything.” Now, in between her busy work schedule, the “Mr. Know It All” singer still finds time to watch the show that started it all, but she has yet to watch former “Idol” judge Simon Cowell’s new show, “X Factor.” “I watch all of them,” Clarkson said. “I haven’t seen [‘X Factor’] because I’ve been out of the country, but I watch ‘The Voice,’ I watch ‘American Idol’ — I watch all of it.” What do you think of Kelly Clarkson’s latest album? Herman Cain Campaign Ads: A Cry For Help?

Are Herman Cain’s campaign commercials for real? The spots for the Republican Presidential candidate resemble what you’d think were an SNL spoof of a Herman Cain ad … like he can’t believe he’s leading national polls and actually running a serious campaign these days either. Take this unintentional comedic gem, in which his Chief of Staff, Mark Block, gushes about candidate Cain and urges people to act on his behalf … while lighting up a cigarette, as Krista Branch’s “I Am America” blares in the background: Herman Cain Smoking Ad It’s as if someone at Cain HQ is trying to cry out for help. Please, vote for someone else . Running for President was fun while it lasted, but we weren’t prepared for this kind of attention , and are in over our heads. That, or it’s a stroke of pure genius. We can’t really tell. Follow the jump for another of Cain’s now famous campaign ads, “He Carried Yellow Flowers,” as well as the official Herman Cain Train music video. Yes, there is a Herman Cain music video. Watch: Herman Cain Ad – He Carried Yellow Flowers Herman Cain – Cain Train Music Video

Delta Goodrem White Dress of the Day

I do declare….I have no idea who Delta Goodrem is…but I have posted onthe fact she has no UPPER LIP before….not that I’m that picky a dude in everyday life, I mean I generally don’t even notice if a girl has a lip, and I sure as hell don’t even notice or care if she’s got a scab on that lip, but for the sake of this site, I got no choice to call out the flaws on the bitches who have had it too good and who are usually underserving… That said…she’s a cancer survivor….and was dealing with cancer at 18 at the same time as being at the top of the Australian and UK charts cuz she’s not from America…most cancer patients I know don’t have number one albums…hard to feel sorry for her and her lipless lip…. I have no sympathy….it’s just what I do….

Dancing With the Stars Results: Kind of a Shocker!

After Monday performances that saw Ricki Lake cement her frontrunner status on Dancing With the Stars , the question was who would join her in the final five. With Lake amassing a huge lead and fan support, J.R. Martinez a virtual lock (no way he’s going home after one off week that wasn’t even that off) and Rob Kardashian looking increasingly strong each week, it came down to these three contestants … Was last night the end of the line for Hope, Nancy, or David? Hope Solo continues to improve, but not fast enough for the judges’ liking (sorry Maks). David Arquette has been good, not great. Nancy Grace? Just bad Monday. So which one of them got the heave-ho? Follow the jump to find out here … David Arquette , despite a strong run this fall, has been sent home. Wow. That was not what we saw coming at all, we have to admit it. David and partner Kym Johnson were ousted from the show, meaning both Nancy Grace and Hope Solo are in the final five on Dancing With the Stars . Wow, again. Having repaired his image, David handled his ouster with good cheer. “This whole thing has been incredible, I’ve loved it,” the actor said after the news. “But there must be a mistake, because this is my show. I can’t go home!” Take that, Maksim Chmerkovskiy ! “I’m just kidding! I came here to learn about myself, face my fears, entertain people and give America a chance to get to know me better – and learn to dance!” He gets all 10s from us on that front. But still, what a surprise. Agree? Did David Arquette deserve to be voted off Dancing With the Stars?

Girls’ Generation: Five Things You Didn’t Know

‘There’s nine girls, but our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography,’ Tiffany tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Girls’ Generation Photo: MTV News Nine member Korean Pop group Girls’ Generation are making a name for themselves in the U.S. The girls recently played an “epic” Madison Square Garden show, they’re releasing their first Stateside single later this month and their new music video for “The Boys” has nearly 15 million YouTube views after just two weeks. But although the group has had enormous success overseas, they’re still relatively unknown in America, which is why when MTV News sat down with Girls’ Generation (a.k.a. Soshi or SNSD to their international fans), we asked them to tell us what they thought new followers needed to know about them. “We have impeccable choreography, in-sync choreography,” Tiffany said. “Our music is upbeat, lively and energetic,” Sooyung added. Indeed, their knack for upbeat, radio-friendly songs has earned them success like the 2009 hit “Gee,” which is the longest-running #1 single on the Korean Broadcasting Charts. And with chart-topping songs and a devoted fanbase in countries like Korea and Japan, the group credits their success to one key thing: “Teamwork.” “There’s nine girls, but our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography,” Tiffany explained. “Beat That!” Music, however, isn’t the girls’ only talent: It turns out they’re also multilingual. “We have members that speak English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean,” Jessica told us. And if you wondered whether a girl group made up of nine women means navigating clashing personalities or even catfights, think again. According to the ladies, while things aren’t always perfect, the singers are as close as sisters. “We grew up together starting earliest age 10 and latest age 15, 16,” Tiffany said. “We’ve grown up and we’re one big happy family,” she added. “We know when to be around each other, when not to be around each other and as the time passes, we really appreciate each other’s presences and teamwork.” Girls’ Generation probably won’t be getting a break from each other anytime soon as they’re hoping to embark on a world tour, which Jessica said could kick off “maybe sometime soon, maybe next year.” “Since K-Pop is becoming a movement, we’re all looking forward to making this not into a movement, but for us to become part of a genre or become music here as well,” Tiffany said. “We definitely want a world tour. … Be careful, world, we’re on the way!” Have you checked out Girls’ Generation yet? What If You Had 24 Hours To Live? Justin Timberlake Would Golf [ORIGINAL]

The rest is here:

If you had 24 hours to live what would you do with it? This is the running theme of Andrew Niccol’s new sci-fi thriller In Time starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried . Given the fact that Justin has been in show business since he was a tiny tot and has seemingly done it all from television and world famous pop star to now making the bridge into becoming a movie star, I had the chance to ask Justin the same question at the premiere. California Love: What Would You Do With 24 Hours In L.A.? “It sounds cliche but I would spend it with people that I love and with my family…I could probably squeeze in a three hour round of golf, and then spend it with the people I love.” After following that up with asking if there was anything left he felt he hadn’t done that he’d like to do, being the charming and lovable character that he is, he jokingly said “I’d like to occupy Pasadena.” As for the film, I loved it. One of the biggest reasons being the concept is great. The thought of living in a world where time literally becomes money and seeing how that plays out in the confines of the world we live in today is quite interesting. The world Niccol created is very fascinating and will be one of the main things that will keep you engaged with the film from start to finish. In the film Timberlake plays Will Salas, a guy who lives in “the ghetto” as it’s called. Here is where people can only afford to live day to day, working to earn enough time to live to see the next day only to do it all over again. WATCH: ‘The Tanning Effect’: Steve Stoute Interview With Jay-Z (Part One) Because you can only live a year past the age of 25, many of the poor people in the ghetto, like Justin and his mother(played by the beautiful and talented Olivia Wilde), used most of their year’s time currency to pay bills just to get by. But when Justin saves the life of a wealthy man(played by one of my favorite actors Matt Bomer ) with over 100 year’s time on his life clock, the man gives a healthy portion of his time to Justin and the drama ensues. So why the age of 25? Niccol chose this age because it is the age at which the brain is fully developed and human beings are better at controlling impulse and wreckless behavior(see why you can’t rent a car until 25 now?). The theme echoed throughout the film is that “you can do a lot in a day.” And the beauty of what writer and director Andrew Niccol has done is not only create a unique world in which we get to view the same way we live our lives today through a different spectrum, but he found a brilliant way to remind us all that the length of our time here is both unknown and relatively short. The contrast between the richest 1% in the film having thousands and even millions of years to live on their life clocks while the 99% work tirelessly just to make it to have enough time to see tomorrow reflects brilliantly on the status of today’s America and the Occupy the World movement that has taken place in recent months. We often say time is money but in this world time is EVERYTHING. Time is literally money, power, and anything else you need it to be in a world where it is the only currency. Much like our rat race is to make as much money as possible, in In Time , the goal is to live as long as possible once that clock on your arm begins to tick and tock on your 25th birthday. Some people have slighted at the notion of taking Timberlake serious as a thriller/action type leading man but what seems to be a smart move by Team Justin is that the theme and story of the film is much bigger than the people playing the characters. Furthermore, Justin actually does a good job of playing the character and not feeling like you’re watching the guy from N*Sync shoot and run from people. The film tackles our obsession with youth(which is why Niccol shot the film in Los Angeles) and holds a mirror up to our lives that begs the question, What are you doing with your time? Because, unlike the people in the world Niccol created, we don’t have the luxury of rolling up our sleeve and peeking at a clock to see when it all ends. For us it could be today, tomorrow, or 50 years from now but the message of the film seems to say take the time you have now, realize just how precious it is, and spend it wisely. What you’re obsessing over may not truly matter at all and what you’re putting off just may be the things that adds a little more time to your life clock. In Time hits theaters Friday October 28th. Go see it while you still have time. Rachel Uchitel: Pregnant!!

Rachel Uchitel is pregnant with her first child, according to reports. Tiger Woods’ O.G. mistress just married Matt Hahn in Las Vegas last month. Now they’re already starting a family, which she found out in an interesting way. According to an insider, “She found out she was pregnant when she auditioned for The Amazing Race . They were going to try out to be a couple on the show.” “When she had a drug test, it came back positive – she’s pregnant!” At that point, Rachel Uchitel decided to pull out … ironically, because Matt Hahn did not. Matt Hahn has done the unthinkable: Knock up Rachel Uchitel. A Life & Style source confirms that the two plan to have an even bigger wedding after the baby arrives. Rache, 36, and Matt, 26, live together in San Francisco. Rachel became a household name after her affair with Tiger Woods was exposed in November 2009. She later appeared on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew . She was treated there for “love addiction” and hilariously never mentioned Woods by name, but was still threatened with a lawsuit over her appearance. Congratulations, mostly, to Uchitel and Hahn on the big news! [Photos: Pacific Coast News]

Ricki Lake Weight Loss Pics: Dancing With the Stars Does a Body Good!

Add Ricki Lake to the list of celebrities who have participated in what has become America’s unofficial celebrity weight loss show: Dancing With the Stars. She may not have lost the 100 pounds boasted by one recent finalist (check out these Kirstie Alley weight loss pics ), but Lake has certainly slimmed down. You can see difference from the pre-season promo pic to the present: Ricki Lake has lost 20 pounds of weight on DWTS . Lake is clearly enjoying her thinner frame, and looking healthy and wonderful while doing it. Ricki’s also maintaining a healthy attitude towards the process. “I don’t know. I didn’t weigh myself at the beginning. I’m definitely a size six now. I’ll probably be a size four by the end of it,” she told the Huffington Post . “It’s come to the point where it doesn’t matter to me. I no longer wear Spanx. I don’t have lumps where I used to. I will weigh myself at the end.” “I really like where my body is going. My waist has never been smaller.” Lake also claimed to not be a “natural dancer,” but she’s just being modest. Aside from JR Martinez , it doesn’t appear anyone can stop her this season.
