BOSSIP recently caught up with Mike Bigga (aka Killer Mike) , and while talking about his new album PL3DGE ( in stores April 19 ), we got into an interesting conversation about Black History and the Hip-Hop generation. Asked what the significance of Black History is today, here’s what Mike had to offer: Black History is important because Black people in America have no culture. Prior to Desegregation, we had culture. We had our own communities, we had our own businesses, we had our own system within which we took care of ourselves. With the dissemination of segregation, we gave up our culture in exchange for being fully integrated. Black communities are not policed by Black officers. The Black people who live in these communities don’t shop at Black stores because there are none, hence the Black dollar leaving the community and never coming back. And without that strong economic base, you don’t have a strong foundation for families, politics, commerce or culture, period. What Black people have lost is a sense of culture. A lot of people think having a Black president is enough. But we still have a [Congressional] Black Caucus, meaning we don’t have enough Black members of Senate or Congress for us not to need a caucus. We don’t have enough representation in local politics. Most of us are happy to have a Black President as a hood ornament, but most of the decisions he makes don’t affect you on a daily basis. So we still have a long way to go. Clip offers glimpses of Hugo Weaving’s Red Skull and Cap’s transformation to super-soldier. By Adam Rosenberg A scene from “Captain America: The First Avenger” Photo: Paramount The debut trailer for “Captain America: The First Avenger” made its bow tonight with only minutes remaining in the second quarter of Super Bowl XLV. The highly anticipated first look at the Joe Johnston-directed Marvel Comics adaptation did not fail to deliver, with glimpses of Hugo Weaving’s Red Skull and Cap’s transformation from puny weakling to genetically enhanced super-soldier. The 32-second trailer opens with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) stepping into the machine that infuses his body with the serum responsible for giving him superhuman strength and reflexes. “How do you feel,” Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter — Cap’s World War II love interest — asks Rogers as he steps out of the oversize metal coffin. “Taller,” Evans quips. A series of shots from different parts of the movie flash by next as Cap, shield in hand, runs, jumps and swings into action against a variety of bad guys, including a pair of armored HYDRA agents wielding flamethrowers. The money shot comes toward the end, of course, with Hugo Weaving’s Red Skull peeling off what appears to be a mask and revealing the scarred, red face beneath. The trailer ends with Atwell and Evans. Cap’s got what must be an early, unpainted prototype of his shield in hand, whose effectiveness Atwell tests with a pistol. “What do you think,” Evans asks, holding the shield up just in time to catch the oncoming bullets. “I think it works,” she fires back with a smirk. “Captain America: The First Avenger” hits 2-D and 3-D screens this summer on July 22. With a plot like this, I can’t believe this Hatchet II shit didn’t win an Academy Award… Marybeth escapes the clutches of the bayou-butcher Victor Crowley and returns to the swamp with an army of hunters and gunmen, determined to end Crowley’s reign of horror once and for all. This shit has a way better storyline than that Iraq War masturbatory shit that won last year…or whatever other bullshit smut Hollywood is celebrating cuz they are paid off and the shit is totally corrupt…staged…insider job bullshit that their little community is in on to scam the rest of America and distract them from what’s really important…like fucking… More importantly how did Hatchet I go under the radar…I mean shit with this storyline the first one must have been a fucking mind rape… At least there was nudity…something that always makes a video worth watching….and here are the clips… Sarah Agor….with her Best Supporting Actress performance of a slutty girl with daddy issues… Charlayne DeVillier…..with the blackest name on a hick….and her performance of a chubby white trash bitch who busts the POV killer…. Shit like this makes me wish I wasn’t too busy doing nothing all day so that I could write a movie…I figure if shit like this is being made…I could be the king of bad movies…I’ve got endless ideas for real low level crap with tits…Maybe one day.
