Didi Benami Voted Off American Idol

While Big Mike Lynche and Lee DeWyze showed off their soulful side and established themselves as contenders on Tuesday’s American Idol along with Crystal Bowersox, plenty of other performers left the stage in mediocrity … or worse. Before this season, the judges touted the quality of the female aspirants. Well, we’re three weeks into the finals and three women have been kicked off so far. The latest victim: Didi Benami. Her inconsistent performances, including Tuesday’s “What Becomes of the Broken Hearted,” were her undoing as American Idol voters issued her a pink slip. As for Tim Urban, that guy keeps on sliding unscathed despite a third straight visit to the bottom three. Katie Stevens also made a return trip to the bottom three. ADIOS, DIDI: America make the right call? Next week, the group performs songs from The Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney, which should provide great variety and be a real treat. Which of the remaining nine do you see going all the way to the end, and who do you think is a candidate to be sent packing next Wednesday? Here’s how we see the remaining finalists in three tiers of three … The Contenders Crystal Bowersox Michael Lynche Lee DeWyze Hanging Tough Casey James Siobhan Magnus Andrew Garcia Bottom Three Aaron Kelly Katie Stevens Tim Urban TOP 9 : One of them will be the next American Idol … but who?

The Illustrated Tea Party Dictionary [Teabonics]

Ever wondered what ‘Real America’ means? Or how precisely Sarah Palin defines communism and fascism? Look no further. Using misspelled Tea Party placards, from this excellent Flickr gallery , we’ve compiled the first comprehensive dictionary for this new dialect. Here are 26 key words (and their associated misspelled placards, click for the full illiterate glory) that are now charged with the fevered, dog-whistling undertones of Fox News and the new right. ( Further suggestions for the Illustrated Tea Party Dictionary are welcomed in the comments or by email . ) ACORN: is a sinister organization which operates from a network of underground lairs to undermine democracy, and freedom through various nefarious means like getting poor people to vote. They were rightfully revealed as being… nice to very white people who try and trick them by Tea Party hero James O’Keefe. America, the real America, Americans: this is code for white, conservative people who dwell within 49 of the 50 United States (Hawaii is suspicious), but preferably away from the coasts. Especially the east coast. America, the real America and Americans all love guns and God and hate abortion. Activities such as shooting things are American. Activities such as helping other people to do anything are un-American. Birth Certificate: this is a code phrase often applied to the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, and is meant to indicate that he is not really American and cannot prove that he is by showing his birth certificate. The phrase continues to be used despite conclusive evidence that the President was born in Hawaii (see America, the real America, Americans). Border, Borders: the borders define the edges of America, but not of the real America which is a more nebulous concept. It is at these borders that ‘illegals’ get into America and undermine America by working extraordinarily hard with no help at all from the Government or their neighbors, who all hate them. Communism: is used to define any plan or program, usually put in place by the government, that has any aspirations to help the poor. The word ‘red’ and the phrase ‘redistribution of wealth’ are also regularly applied. All are meant to imply that the ordinary business of a capitalist government, to provide the things that the free market does not, is sinister and evil. Draws on mythology created in the 1950s and 1960s. Constitution, Constitutional: the constitution is a document that must be used to define and defend only right-wing actions. Anything liberal or progressive is ‘unconstitutional’, no matter how desperate the logic used to arrive at this conclusion. Torture, for example, is constitutional though ‘cruel and unusual punishment’, is specifically forbidden in the document. But the rescue of the financial sector was unconstitutional. English: the Tea Party does not like immigrants with their filthy foreign ways and their unintelligible gibbering in their filthy foreign tongues. They want everyone to follow their example and echo the peerless use of language that figureheads like Sarah Palin demonstrate. Fascism: any decision that does not agree with a right-wing perspective, approved by democratically elected lawmakers in various arms of Government and signed into law by the democratically elected President, is Fascism. Obama is thus Hitler. Both men were apparently known for their moderate views and hosting of Seders. Freedom: is defined as the rights of any individual to do anything, without government interference, as long as those things do not include falling in love with a member of one’s own gender, or deciding to get an abortion. Government, big Government, takeover by: the Government, like ACORN, is a sinister organization with secret aims to enslave all Americans by providing them with cheap, easy-to-access healthcare, helping students get reasonable loans and many other such disgusting ploys. Hope: is a universally bad thing, used to lure people into voting for a communist government that will eventually enslave them. Kenya: is a mysterious place where monsters roam, and devilish people plot to put one of their own into the White House and thus take over the world. It is a little like Mordor. But with black people in. Liar: anyone who does not completely agree with the Tea Party, and produces ‘evidence’ of their contrary views, is a liar. Mainstream Media: like ACORN and the Government, the Mainstream Media is a nefarious cabal who, unbeknownst to most of the nation, meet in smoky dens to deliberately play down conservative ideas and promote liberal ones by using ‘journalism’ and ‘objectivity’. Fox News , Rush Limbaugh and a select few others eschew these tools and are safely above the conspiracy. Marriage, Sanctity of: any mention of this phrase is code for ‘I don’t know what’s right, but I know that gay people freak me out and and make me feel funny, and it just ain’t right and it shouldn’t be allowed’. Maverick: anyone who has read Ayn Rand and studiously applies Conservative dogma and ideology to any situation by rote, however ludicrous the results in the real world, is a maverick. ObamaCare: is the evil tool by which Government, the Mainstream Media and ACORN will take over the country and turn it into a filthy, foreign place like Europe where people have access to medical care even if they cannot afford it and are almost never pushed into abject poverty by the misfortune of getting sick. Patriotic: any American, preferably a Real American, who supports all wars, decries all foreigners and attempts to help the poor, even if poor themselves, is patriotic. Politicians: are tools of the Government, ACORN and the Mainstream Media. Many of them are in on the conspiracy to take over America, and subjugate the Real America. Some Mavericks like Eric Cantor, Jim DeMint and John Boehner are fighting this conspiracy with the raw power of idiocy. Plumber, Joe the: code for any American who works in an average, blue-collar job and earns an average living doing so. Unless that American is swarthy of skin, in which case it does not. Responsibility: means spending whatever you like, screwing everyone you can over and refusing to perform even the meanest kindness towards anyone that is not you. Socialism, Socialised: a sinister political system in which any consideration at all is given to anyone except the wealthiest and most privileged in society. Taxes: are an evil system of control used to pay for evil things like police forces, the army, street lighting and roads. Thus tax is a tool to help the Government, ACORN and the Mainstream Media turn America socialist or communist. Wealth: definition here definition here definition here definition here definition here definition here Your, You’re: a totally arbitrary, communist, socialist, fascist distinction that is used to help hope-mongering, gay, liberal elites without birth certificates, Politicians, the Government, ACORN and the Mainstream Media take wealth, taxes and freedom and responsibility away from mavericks, Joe the Plumber, Patriots, America and the Real America and away to some post-ObamaCare Kenya.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy Attacks United States

Last March 29, French President Nicolas Sarkozy came to the United States. He gave a speech at Columbia University in New York where, unexpectedly for many, he criticized American policy. President Sarkozy turned to political criticism as well. United States “should reflect about what it means to be the world’s No. 1 power, said by French President.”The world needs an open America, a generous America, an America that shows the way, an America that listens,” President Sarkozy said. French leader began his keynote address stressing the important role of the Unites States in the global financial crisis, President Nicolas Sarkozy stated as: “A few hundred irresponsible hotheads did mad things on the stock market, with derivatives, with other people’s money. Do you think we can defend capitalism … when there is so much injustice? I don’t think so because it is impossible to defend.”> > Read More French President Nicolas Sarkozy Attacks United States is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Gossip Girl: Fashion Is a Drug [Recaps]

This week’s episode saw a fancy fashion show, a drugged young thing in serious need of help, a couple struggling to get out of their rut and back into the groove, and lots and lots of hookers. If there’s one thing that Gossip Girl gets right (and there are many), it’s the importance of teenagers. Teenagers are really just the best, most interesting, and most effectual people a person can ever know. Are you some bumbling idiot middle-ager who just doesn’t get it? Well, call a teenager. Feeling loveless and lonely and terribly old? Call some teenagers and watch them make out for a while. They are just the balm of Gilead to this weary, crumbling modern world of ours. Why just look at the Gossip Girl kids! Young Jenny. Why, she knows more about fashion than esteemed stage actress Margaret Colin! Yes, famous fashion designer Winksy Waldorf was back on the show tonight, conveniently in time for Jenny to start turning her life around. See she’s been in a bad way this season — consorting with Canadians from the movie Air Bud , being disrespectful to her Sister-Father Rufus, telling school to stuff it in a sack — and she’s ready to climb on out of her Jenny pit and reenter the bright world of good. And what better way to become a responsible citizen of teenage America than by studying hard in school and being nice to people joining the fashion industry. Winksy accepted Jenny’s apology (even though Winksy totally tried to rip Jenny off, didn’t she?) and rehired her, after some begging by Ma Humphrey. The situation was this: Winksy is selling out. Yep, the economy has tumbled down the filthy rabbit hole that’s under the outhouse and no one’s buying high-end clothes anymore. So for her new Young Adult line (clearly the most important line) Winksy has decided to go low-rent and is trying to get a Wal-Mart-esque super emporium to carry the collection of black riding outfits and classroom-friendly bondage gear. Though this pains Winksy’s daughter, Blair, she is willing to help out in any way she can. The way she can help out, of course, is teens. More teens, please. Hot oval-teens, please! I’ll have the two teens value meal with a diet teen. To go! Well, OK, maybe they weren’t teens exactly. Winksy wanted to show Mr. Walmart that she could sell her clothes in middle America, so she asked Blair to invite her friends from NYU to the fashion show, to prove that normal kids like the garments. Yes, because if there’s any representative of middle America, it’s an NYU freshman. It was a great idea! There was only one problem. Blair doesn’t have any NYU friends. Because if there’s one thing that NYU kids don’t like, it’s girls with nice clothes and lots of money whose moms are famous fashion designers. So who’s she going to bring? She can’t tell her mom that she is failing at social college. Aha! An idea. Remember from a million episodes ago when there was that whole thing with prostitutes that lived in the NYU dorms? Well, yeah, Blair decided to call them. 30 of them. At $300/hour each. Last I checked, that’s $9,000 an hour. That’s a lotta clams! For just 30 clams. (BAZUMBO.) Well, OK, it wasn’t all clams. There was a rentboy there too. So the fashion show goes and all the middle-American NYU hooker girls squeal with delight but Mr. Walmart shakes his big gray head and says “No. No .” He does not like it. Why? Because, as he says to Blair, he didn’t know that prostitutes were the Winksy Waldorf Designs way. Yes, he knew Blair had hired help. But how? Well, it turned out that Mr. Walmart had a sex appointment with the male rentboy hooker gigolo . Yes! If you are scratching your head and asking “Wait, but why, if a gay hooker prostitute male that he had secretly slept with was in the room , would Mr. Walmart spill the beans and tell Blair that he knew there were hookers about?” then just hold perfectly still and Stephanie Savage will come and lobotomize you. It’s a perfectly reasonably plot-based question to ask in any normal realm, but this is Gossip Girl we’re talking about. Anyway, Blair found out that Mr. Walmart had been getting his roll backs on with Young Deuce Bigalow, and she blackmailed him into extending her mother an offer. (Because he’s so cagey about someone finding out he sleeps with hookers, except for when he tells Blair that he sees a hoo— Stephanie, no! Noo!! Noooooo!!!) But in the end Winksy couldn’t sell out, so she told Mr. Walmart no and he bow-legged outta there so fast you’d think he was headed to go have sex with a hottie male sex worker. Which he was. Blair then decided that she’d have more friends at Columbia, so look for that to happen. Meanwhile Jenny was getting drugged by Caitlin Cooper from The OC . Yeah, I don’t know. There was some bullshit about the Agnes model character from a while ago wanting to get revenge, so she had her bitchy friend put a few of Air Bud ‘s Magic Delirium Capsules into Jenny’s champagne (which sixteen year olds just drink, with impunity, while interning at fashion shows). “Wuhhh whoaaahhhhhh” Jenny said after gulping down the champagne. “The Jenster doesn’t feel so goood….” And Agnes and her bitchy friends laughed and said “Come on, let’s go get her raped.” This is actually what they did! They took the Jenster, who was wearing a lampshade on her head and singing the Pina Colada song, to some random nightclub and dumped her at a bachelor party and were like “Have fun boys!” And, like, I know that Men Are Evil, but would anyone really , at a bachelor party surrounded by friends, be like “Awwww yeahhh” at the sixteen-year-old who can’t even stand up and has a trickle of vomit running down her chin and has soiled herself and is quietly and obliviously mumbling monologues from William Inge plays to herself? I just don’t think so. But sure enough, on Gossip Girl there was one jerk who was into it. So Jenny was going to get raped! Ha ha, what a fun plotline. Luckily Nate came to her rescue and now Jenny is butt-crazy in love with him and will try to steal him from the lithesome Serena. Which, gross. Jenny and Nate doing it would be like mashing two Skipper dolls together. Another thing that happened this episode was that Chuck and his mom were all fighting about the hotel stuff while Jack Bass the Jackass glowered with his dumb beard. Turns out mom’s in love with Jack, and will do whatever he says, including dicking over her one and only orphaned son. Ed Westwick got to Act a lot in this episode, with tears and growling and stuff, so good for him. And then his mom was all “I’m not your mom” and Westwicky knew she was lying but he let her lie and drive away. And you know what? After Mulholland Drive came out I was all “Why didn’t Laura Harring get famous like Naomi Watts got famous?” And then I realized last night that, oh, Laura Harring just can’t really act all that well. That’s all. Dan and Vanessa were having problems. They’re slowly starting to realize that they are the most boring people in the world, so they want to spice things up. Well Vanessa does, at least. So her strategy was to dress up like Grace Kelly in Rear Window and, in a sexy cavewoman purr, to tell Dan “You can rear me in my window.” Dan’s eyes bulged out and an owwoooga car horn sounded and then Ma Rufus showed up wearing his big farm dress and bonnet, throwing seeds to the chickens and saying “Come on now, git. Come on now, shoo, shoo.” He proceeded to hang out with Vanessa and Dan even though they were on a sexy date. Because Rufus is sad and lonely. What a dump. What a sad thing. In the end Dan convinced Vanessa that they can still do the same old things they did as friends and be romantic at the same time. The romantic part comes when she delicately alfreds his hitchcock. That never happened when they were friends! Vanessa nodded her heavy, fur-matted head and that was that. Rufus watched from a peephole for a spell and then turned and looked out the window. Storm was brewing. So he went out to the porch and called out to Jenny. “Jenny, you come back in this house now, you hear? Storm’s a’comin’ and I don’t want you catchin’ your death of cold and making Doc Turner come all the way out here to check up on ya. And close the gate on your way in, you know how the pigs get in this weather.” He looked off for a while, waiting for Jenny, then shook his head and tsked and trundled back into the house and sat down in his favorite rocking chair and closed his eyes and said “Lord above. Lorrrd above.” And that was pretty much the episode. If you looked closely you could see Erik a few times briefly in the episode. There he was as a friend of the male sex hooker, clutching his hand in a vain attempt at genuine intimacy. There he was, bewigged and glad in a black handbag dress, walking the runway for Winksy’s show. There he was, sitting glumly at the bachelor party bar, muttering to himself about life and love and men and marriage. And there he was outside the Humphrey house, a small speck in the distance, running against the storm-streaked sky. He was heading to the barn, we think, for shelter. But we do not know if he made it. We just do not know. OK BRIAN. How’d everyone do in the rankings this week? Are they in Barney’s territory or Ames land? Thanks, Richard. Will.I.Am, David Guetta, DJ Tiesto Rock Ultra Music Festival At WMC 2010

LMFAO, Will.I.Am guest during Guetta’s set. By Akshay Bhansali DJ Tiesto Photo: MTV News MIAMI — Dance music’s biggest weekend in America, kicked off with a series of powerful performances at Day 1 of the Ultra Music Festival (held during the Winter Music Conference), at Miami’s oceanfront Bicentennial Park. With a multitude of stages (and even a Heineken-inspired dome), the weekend’s line-up is probably UMC’s largest and most star-studded grouping yet, boasting over 200 DJs from around the world and the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, and David Guetta. Over at the UMF Ibiza Stage, both Kaskade and Will.I.Am dropped new material for fans — Kaskade from his forthcoming Dynasty LP and Will.I.Am for undetermined releases. “I think it’s important to come out to WMC to test out the new beats you’ve been making — rockin’ the crowds, learning from the crowds,” Will told MTV News Friday night, just before he took the stage again to join a close friend. Indeed, Black Eyed Peas collaborator and dance-music titan put on what seemed like a hip-hop collab fest, being joined by many friends on the Ultra main stage during the course of his set. Whipping the crowd into a frenzy with his thumping “Gettin’ Over” before transitioning into “One Love.” Will jumped onstage for “On the Dancefloor,” then Guetta charged into a series of his hits, including the Lil Jon/ DJ Chuckie remix of “Sexy Chick” and BEP’s “I Gotta Feeling.” He ended up closing his set with a premiere of a new song called “Getting Over You” (featuring LMFAO), and sure enough, the party rock duo, who are currently on tour with BEP, joined Guetta on stage for his finale. Closing out the night at Bicentennial Park was Dutch trance heavyweight DJ Tiesto , who had the thousands of fans in attendance clapping in unison for the majority of his nearly two-hour-long set. With pyrotechnics blasting, the crowd jumped to its feet, singing along with his Nelly Furtado collaboration “Who Wants To Be Alone” and other hits from Tiesto’s catalog, including “Escape Me,” I Will Be Here” and “Love Comes Again.” Related Videos Sights And Sounds From Winter Music Conference 2010 Related Artists Will.I.Am DJ Tiesto David Guetta
