From acting to handbag design, ‘Hills’ stars share their post-show plans. By Jocelyn Vena Kristin Cavallari and Audrina Patridge Photo: Jesse Grant/ Getty Images Now that it’s been announced that the upcoming season of “The Hills” will be the last , we wonder: What will the cast go on to do after the show ends? After Lauren Conrad’s departure she began her own mini-empire that includes a book series, a clothing line and a movie in the works. Whitney Port left the show only to star in her own spinoff, “The City.” The fates of the remaining “Hills” stars are up in the air, but they’ve hinted at possible post-show careers. Heidi Montag has made it known that she wants to be a pop star and she’s also recently made her way into movies, having filmed a cameo for the new Adam Sandler flick “Just Go With It.” She also recently tweeted she’s back in the designing game. “Designing my FIRST handbag! I am so excited!” she tweeted . “What’s your favorite type of bag?” Her husband Spencer Pratt recently shared that he intends to go back to school to study encryption at the University of Southern California so that he can work for American Defense Enterprises in their cyber-security division. He said of his new career path, which is a far cry from his rap career, “I have decided to refocus my energy and devote my full resources to helping America face this and other unprecedented challenges.” Kristin Cavallari has some experience in the acting game, so it seems likely that she would further pursue a career in Hollywood. She’s already gushed about how much she enjoys the world of acting. “I love being on set and being in a movie,” she said. “I think it’s so much fun. I really, really love it.” Audrina Patridge has also dabbled in acting, so she may focus some of her energy on that — but she’s also been working with Mark Burnett on a pilot in hopes that it will get picked up once “The Hills” wraps up. As for Brody Jenner, he can always make a stop by “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” to hang out with his TV family. And while Conrad has jokingly said she’d love it if Lo starred in the “L.A. Candy” flick, Bosworth has said that she would like to get into TV presenting in her post-“Hills” life. What do you want to see happen to the “Hills” crew after the show ends? Bricks have been hurled through Democrats' windows, a propane line was cut at the home of a congressman's brother and lawmakers who voted for a federal health care bill have received phone threats in the days before and after passage of the sweeping legislation. Authorities are investigating incidents in Kansas, Virginia and other places, including Rochester, N.Y., where a brick tossed through the window of a county Democratic Party office had a note attached that said: ''Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice,'' roughly quoting the late Barry Goldwater, the 1964 Republican presidential nominee. The FBI and Capitol Police were briefing Democratic lawmakers on how to handle perceived security threats after at least 10 reported incidents, said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md. Those who feel they are at risk will be ''getting attention from the proper authorities,'' Hoyer said, declining to say whether any are now receiving added security. Normally only those in leadership positions have personal security guards. The threats surprised an official with a think tank that monitors extremist groups. ''I think it is astounding that we are seeing this wave of vigilantism,'' said Mark Potok of the Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center. In Virginia, authorities were investigating after someone cut a propane line leading to a grill at the Charlottesville home of U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello's brother. Perriello also said a threatening letter was sent to his brother's house. The home's address was posted online by tea party activists angry about the Virginia Democrat's vote in favor of the health care overhaul. They had mistaken the brother's address for that of the lawmaker. Potok compared the online posting of a public official's address to tactics used by hate groups. ''This is what neo Nazi leaders in America do today,'' Potok said. ''They post personal information about their enemies and sit back and wait for somebody else to act.'' In western New York, police are investigating after bricks were thrown through windows at two Democratic offices, but there have been no arrests. One was thrown through a window at Democratic Rep. Louise Slaughter's district office in Niagara Falls early Friday. Slaughter, whose district stretches from Rochester to the Buffalo area, has been a key supporter of the health care reform bill passed by the House on Sunday. Sometime from late Saturday or Sunday in Rochester, N.Y., a brick was hurled at a wooden-framed glass door of the county Democratic Committee offices. The singer, who is currently on tour in Australia, talked with radio station Nova 96.9 FM and dished a bit about what she has in store for “Alejandro,” the third clip from her Fame Monster LP. “I’m so excited about the ‘Alejandro’ video,” she told the station. “Actually, we’re shooting it very soon and I don’t want to say who the director is yet because it’s going to give a lot away.” When asked her if she could reveal anything more, it was evident that she intends on keeping the music video’s concept secret. “Are you absolutely mad? I would never, ever tell you!” she laughed. “I would be more likely to lie through my teeth to you what the video’s about so that you could all be surprised. But I will tell you it’s not the sequel to the ‘Telephone’ video.” WWD reported on Tuesday that fashion photographer Steven Klein will helm the clip, but that information had not been confirmed at press time; reps for Gaga and Klein had not confirmed or provided MTV News with details about the video. For the moment, Gaga is enjoying touring Australia. “What mayhem in Melbourne tonight. Some kids just understand what it means live your eyeliner, breathe your lipstick, and kill for each other.” she tweeted on Tuesday . “Writing music, leopard tights,monster varsity jacket I’m grateful to have fans that continue to inspire me Ready to sweat tonight Melbourne,” she Gaga tweeted a few hours later . More new ‘Diary’ clips show Bieber answering questions submitted by you, the fans. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber in “The Diary of Justin Bieber” Photo: MTV News & Docs We’ve been sharing sneak peeks from “The Diary of Justin Bieber” all week, and so far we’ve seen Bieber on the road, in interviews, doing his hair, performing live and now we will get some insight from the star himself. On Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET, fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be the teen idol as he travels the globe promoting his music. MTV News has been giving you some hints as to what you can expect from the special and here’s another: While in Europe on a promotional tour, Bieber sat down to answer questions submitted by fans. One question posed asks the singer what it’s like to go from being a normal kid to being a pop-music sensation. “It was pretty crazy — waking up one day just regular, going to school and then next day going out performing for thousands of people,” he said. “It’s pretty crazy.” And how does he feel about his screaming fans? “You know, it’s really crazy to just have so many fans and have them support me,” he said. “I really like it.” Bieber also shared that he’s spied a cute girl or two in the masses. “I’ve seen [girls] in the crowd that have been pretty, for sure.” Speaking of fans, Bieber offered that he’s had a fan’s mom do something really crazy one time to meet him. “The craziest fan experience has probably been … well, actually I was in America and there was this one girl’s mom that got a tattoo of the radio DJ’s face so that [her daughter] can meet me,” he explained. Looks like Sarah Palin is coming to the Discovery Channel. A deal for the former governor and current professional celebrity ‘s reality series, Sarah Palin’s Alaska , is expected to be announced by the network in the coming days. The travel series, produced by Mark Burnett, would feature Alaska’s ex-governor giving tours of the state. Hopefully some Todd Palin snow machine shots are featured. Sarah Palin started shopping around the show this month. Major networks passed, but Discovery showed interest. It could air on Discovery or its sister network, TLC. Palin is asking $1.2 million per episode for Sarah Palin’s Alaska , making it one of the most expensive nature series of all time, and constitute a seemingly ridiculous price, but if someone’s willing to pay it, that’s the free market for ya.
