Darren Sharper, Former NFL All-Pro, Arrested for Rape

Darren Sharper, a former All-Pro defensive back who played for three teams over a 14-year career, has been arrested on charge of rape. The Los Angeles Police Department says it is investigating Sharper in conjunction with a pair of sexual assaults that took place in West L.A., one this month and one in October. He was released Friday on $200,000 bail and is expected back in court on February 14. The New Orleans Police Department, meanwhile, says it is also looking into an allegation of sexual assault filed against Sharper on September 24. Shaper has worked as an analyst for the NFL Network since 2010 and has been suspended without pay “until further notice,” according to a spokesman for the network. Sharper, 38, starred over the years for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. He recorded 63 career interceptions and was named to 2000’s All-Decade Team.

According to Radar Online: CeeLo Green, the singer and star of The Voice, will escape a four-year prison sentence if he accepts a plea deal being thrashed out between his legal team and prosecutors, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. The 38-year-old has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of giving ex pills to a woman who had also accused him of sexually assaulting her after a night out in Los Angeles last year. “But if CeeLo decides to plead out, he will not face any jail time and the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor,” a source with knowledge of the negotiations told RadarOnline.com. “It would require him to attend drug education classes and narcotics anonymous meetings. It’s a deal that’s on the table. It’s likely the case will never go to trial.” Added the source, “From the outset, CeeLo has been very cooperative with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and he does not have a criminal record, which would help him in the event of any plea deal.” Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, appeared in court Oct. 21 to be arraigned on the sole charge of furnishing a controlled substance. At the hearing, prosecutors’ recommended to the judge to set his bond at $30,000 — a move that was agreed to and he was ordered to return to court on November 20. According to the district attorney, reality star Green slipped the drug to a 33-year-old woman while they were having dinner on July 13 or July 14, 2012. They later went back to her hotel, prosecutors have alleged. A Los Angeles Police Department statement, obtained by KTLA, detailed how the woman told police Green sexually assaulted her at the Luxe Hotel after the dinner. The Los Angeles Times reported the woman said she woke up nekkid in bed with Green in her room. However, prosecutors concluded there wasn’t enough evidence to take the forced sex accusation to court. SMH: Teenage Girl Runs Over And Kills Two Sleeping Homeless People In LA While Driving Drunk

SMH. Teenagers, booze, and Halloween weekend is never a good mix. According to NBC News: A teenager ran over and killed two people sleeping on a downtown Los Angeles sidewalk early Sunday, police said. Police allege that Carmen Elena Chavez of Los Angeles was drunk when her 1989 Mercedes-Benz careened onto the sidewalk where the two were sleeping. Chavez had been speeding and attempted to navigate a turn when the vehicle spun out of control, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Cleon Joseph said. The two people, a man and woman, died at the scene, Joseph said. They have not yet been identified. Chavez was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail on vehicular manslaughter charges, police said. R.I.P. to those who lost their lives.

Woman Dies In LAPD Custody After Reportedly Being Kicked By Police Officer Several LAPD officers are under investigation after a drug-addicted young mother died following a forceful arrest where she was reportedly kicked in her lady lips by one of the arresting officers. At least five Los Angeles Police officers are being investigated after 35-year-old Alesia Thomas (pictured) died in police custody, the Los Angeles Times reports. On July 22, Thomas reportedly left her two children, a 3-year-old and 12-year-old, at the LAPD’s southeast station after allegedly telling officers that she could no longer care for them because of her drug addition. Officers were assigned to look for Thomas and found her at her home in the 9000 block of South Broadway in Los Angeles. After being questioned, the officers arrested her “on suspicion of child endangerment.” But, Thomas “began actively resisting arrest.” One of the officers took her down by sweeping her legs from underneath her. Another one of the officers reportedly went as far as kicking her in the “lady lips” during the arrest. The official account, however, made no mention of what another officer confirmed was a female officer’s questionable treatment of Thomas. The department’s account said officers immediately notified paramedics. It is unclear whether the officers attempted to resuscitate her and how much time passed before paramedics arrived. Thomas died shortly after being transported to a hospital. This is just an unfortunate and sad situation all around. Smh. Source

 for several weeks, “Terminator: Rise of the Machines” actor Nick Stahl has reportedly entered a rehabilitation facility. TMZ reported that Stahl, 32, told his estranged wife, Rose, that he has checked into a facility. The actor e-mailed friends over the weekend to tell them that he was doing fine and would be unreachable for the next 30 days while he was getting help. Rose told the site that she spoke to Stahl on Saturday night and that she double-checked with the facility to make sure that he was still there. She had filed a missing person’s report with the Los Angeles Police Department last week after saying that she had not seen Stahl since May 9. Sources claimed that the actor had been seen in the Skid Row area of downtown L.A. and there were concerns that he was once again struggling with addiction. This latest incident was not the first time that those close to Stahl have expressed concern over his well-being. Rose filed papers with the LA County Superior Court back in February asking a judge to limit her husband’s access to their 2-year-old daughter, Marlo, due to his alleged drug and alcohol abuse. She also claimed that she and Stahl were no longer living together. Stahl made his big-screen debut back in 1993 opposite Mel Gibson in “The Man Without a Face.” Since then, he’s appeared in several major studio films, including “The Thin Red Line,” “Disturbing Behavior” and “Sin City.” His most recent role is in the 2011 VOD-released “388 Arletta Avenue” opposite Devon Sawa.
