Nepotism strikes again (but that’s okay): Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt ‘s 4-year-old daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt has scored her first movie role. The tot will play a young version of Princess Aurora, later played as a teenager by 14-year-old Elle Fanning, in Disney’s live-action Maleficent , which stars Jolie as the famous evil witch of Sleeping Beauty lore and is in production gearing towards a 2014 release. According to The Sun , it was mama Jolie’s idea: “Ange thought it would be a fun experience for her and Viv to share, and Viv is a natural.” [ The Sun via The Insider ]
Shouldn’t we be happy for Gabby? We just wish this exciting makeover, given by celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson, wasn’t overshadowed by all of the negativity surrounding the Double-Gold Olympic Champion. Seems Gabby’s team put a plan in action once the star returned back to the states this week; one of her many stops was at Gibson’s salon: “I couldn’t believe it and still can’t,” Gibson, who has worked on the tresses of Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, Kate Gosselin and Ashley Greene, told The Daily Beast on Wednesday about the criticism Douglas received over her slicked-back ponytail. “You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful.” Earlier this month, the pint-sized Team USA gymnast, who’s the first African American female to win the All-Around gold, shed some light on the trivial, tress-related matter. “They have no idea what they’re talking about,” she told Us Weekly. “We rotate from event to event so there’s no time for them to say ‘Representing the USA, Gabrielle Douglas’ and me to say ‘Yeah, thanks!’ as I’m brushing my hair. It’s so disrespectful! I’m not thinking about that. I’m thinking about bringing a gold medal home.” So on Tuesday, Gibson, who also lends his talents on What Not to Wear, worked his mane magic on the Virginia Beach native and gave her a hair makeover that the teen couldn’t stop gushing about: frizz-free, center-parted waves that fall a few inches below her shoulders. With Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg already out , and Jason Sudeikis also considering an exit, Splitsider confirms that Abby Elliott will not return for Season 38 of the iconic sketch show. Elliott joined the cast in 2008. She is responsible for such hilarious impressions as Angelina Jolie, Rachael Maddow, Anna Faris, Meryl Streep and Khloe Kardashian . The comedian also cracked us up last season in Quirky Girl With Zooey Deschanel (above). We’ll miss her.

Now that Jennifer Aniston is engaged to Justin Theroux , the question is when they’ll get married – and whether they’ll beat Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! Not that it matters, of course – both Jen and Brad wish each other the best and don’t play into the supposed rivalry celebrity gossip magazines love. But it’s fun to speculate, and it seems hard to believe that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux won’t get hitched first, even if they’ve been engaged for 48 hours. Forget the countless tabloid cover stories and rampant rumor mill, this time it’s legitimate: Jennifer Aniston is engaged!!! The actress’ rep confirmed the incredible news to People this afternoon, telling the magazine: ” Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage.” Aniston and Theroux have been dating for more than a year, going public with their relationship in May of 2011. The couple has been the subject of endless speculation, with one rag saying the former Friends star recently rejected the writer/director’s proposal. Amazing, we know. A tabloid got a Jennifer Aniston story wrong. Ironically, there had been chatter that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would get married this weekend. But, for once, Aniston stole her ex’s spotlight. We wish this happy couple nothing but the best!
Move over, Brangelina. You’re being upstaged by… your parents?!? Indeed, days after Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Pitt, made headlines for penning an editorial that bashed Barack Obama as “a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage,” Angelina Jolie’s estranged father has come out in support of his quasi relative. “Good for her,” Jon Voight – who once laid into Obama himself for spreading ” anti-Semitism throughout the world ” – told Fox News about Mrs. Pitt. The veteran actor, one of the more outspoken conservatives in Hollywood, added that he agreed all around with Jane Pitt’s stance . Moronic Twitter followers have been sending out death threats to Pitt for her letter, but her very own son has no problem with his mother expressing her views. Said Doug Pitt on The Today Show : “I think moms and dads and kids agree to disagree all over the world. So why would our family be any different? Well, it’s certainly great to be cast in a hit franchise that producers are itching to see the good times roll on. Scarlett Johansson ‘s portrayal as the Black Widow in Marvel’s The Avengers was one component in a half-dozen super-heroes that has brought in over $1.45 billion since its release in late Spring. With money like that rolling in, no point in jiggering with a winning formula. And to keep the good times going, the producers have offered up a record-breaking paycheck for Johansson to reprise her super-hero role. The Hollywood star has been offered a cool $20 million in order to lure her back in the skin-tight black suit for more flips, punches and acrobatics for future adoring audiences in the franchise’s next installment, according to the New York Post . That is “slightly” more than the $19 million Angelina Jolie reportedly received for her turn in The Tourist If that pans out, that will be quite a pay raise from the current film, which is the biggest of the summer tentpoles so far. According to The Hollywood Reporter in May she made between $4 – 6 million plus bonuses, similar to Samuel L. Jackson, but much less than Robert Downey, Jr.’s reported take (Chris Hemsworth, Chis Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo made about half that). Last month, Forbes magazine dubbed Kristen Stewart the highest paid actress in Hollywood between her Twilight and Snow White and the Huntsman gigs. The two made her a celestial $34.5 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Might the Myla Sinanaj and Kris Humphries love story actually have a happy ending? Following weeks of contentious exchanges – which included Myla Sinanaj being subpoenaed to testify in her ex-boyfriend’s divorce battle with Kim Kardashian, and also threatening to sue Kris for defamation of character – TMZ now reports the busty brunette actually wants to get back together with Humphries. She is pregnant his baby after all. Sources tell TMZ that Sinanaj has forgone plans to sue Humphries AND agreed to sign a confidentiality agreement that forces her to keep quiet about whatever Kris told her during their relationship. Perhaps Humphries offered her a chunk of whatever settlement he receives from his official Kardashian split? Myla even believes there’s a “good chance” she and Humphries will date again in the near future. Who says love is dead, people? We’ll update this story with whatever ridiculous development goes down next.
