Jennifer Aniston has been having a low-key several months … at least until every news outlet, celeb gossip blog and tabloid publication started speculating nonstop on her response to Brad Pitt’s engagement to Angelina Jolie. The whole world seems to be obsessed with how she took this one piece of news. The short answer? She’s happy for Brangelina , but at the same time, “She hates it being brought up because she doesn’t really care,” says a pal. Jennifer Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000-2005 before he infamously fell in love with Mr. and Mrs. Smith costar Jolie while he was still married. After seven years together, Brad finally proposed to Angelina earlier this month, with all six kids present, buying her $500,000 diamond engagement ring. “She feels Angelina can have him,” the Jen source adds, noting that she’s been quite happy in her own life for some time. “She just wants to move on .” Indeed, since falling for Wanderlust costar Justin Theroux, that’s pretty much what Aniston’s done. Looks like Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are planning a wedding thousands of miles away from Tinseltown, possibly this summer, according to reports. No, this is not just some made-up tabloid story in response to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie getting engaged. Jen really was seen recently scouting places in Crete . Sources connected with the Elounda Beach Hotel in Crete, an island south of Greece (where Jen’s dad was born) say she was there to check the place out. She also mentioned a possible July wedding, apparently. The hotel website boasts a wedding package that includes a dedicated consultant, a civil or religious ceremony and various decorations for just $2,300! Somehow we’re guessing Jen would add more extravagant touches … if she even has it there. One hotel employee says she hasn’t settled on his hotel. At least not yet. Jen is still considering other places on the island as well. As he put it, “She has connections on the other side of the island as well.” It pays to have those for possible wedding venues in Crete. Nothing like calling a Jolie-Pitt family meeting for the announcement that the celebrity gossip world had longingly been waiting – and hoping – for. On a recent spring day, Brad Pitt gathered Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3, to present their mom with something. That would be a tablet-shaped diamond engagement ring, estimated at 16 carats and worth $500,000, and which he helped design with jeweler Robert Procop. “Angelina cried and smiled” at the proposal, a confidante says. Aww. The children, who had been eager for their parents to wed after seven years together, were equally overjoyed to see Brad and Angelina engaged . The source adds. “Everyone hugged once she put [the ring] on. She went around and showed it to each of the kids , one by one. It was magical.” As the world now knows, Jolie, 36, quietly debuted that long-awaited ring at an April 11 private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie plan to tie the knot at last at their sprawling estate in France this summer, then move to England for at least two years, reports say. While the newly-engaged couple says there is no date planned for their nuptials, the New York Post says they’ve spent the last six months planning them. The plan, allegedly, is to hold a lavish wedding ceremony at their manse near the village of Correns, in the south of France, London’s Daily Star adds. The engaged Brangelina will reportedly exchange vows in a pre-Roman chapel on the grounds before 200-300 guests, many of them Hollywood elites. Pals George Clooney, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Jacqueline Bisset and her once-estranged father Jon Voight are expected to be on hand. “They have been quietly preparing for one of the most glamorous show-business weddings of all time for months,” a close friend of the couple said. “I’ve seen their chateau; it is one of the most romantic settings imaginable.” As soon as the Brad-Angelina engagement news spread, locals began buzzing about “Le Mariage de Monsieur et Madame Smith,” a takeoff on Mr. and Mrs. Smith . It seems like forever ago that Jolie caused an outcry after admitting she and Pitt fell in love during that flick, when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Jen is reportedly happy for the couple, if you believe what you read. All a distant memory now, in any case, as the couple and their six kids are set to spend at least two years making their home just outside London. Jolie is planning to shoot her next three movies in the United Kingdom, according to The Sun, including one that may co-star soon-to-be-husband Pitt. The two also are eager to be near London for the Summer Olympics and believe their kids will benefit from the immersion in UK culture, sources said. “They loved it when they were in the UK last year,” a source said. “They like the culture and are happy for their children to receive schooling here.” Will Brad and Angelina last?

A rep for the pair confirmed their news today to THR , calling it “a promise for the future.” Really, isn’t the long-awaited Brangelina engagement a promise for us all ? Hmm… could this be why Jolie made such concerted efforts to hide her ring finger on the red carpet last month in New York? Observe: What’s that? You don’t care? FINE. A statement from the jewelry designer to The Hollywood Reporter, which originally reported the engagement, read: “I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt.” People also obtained a statement from the designer: “Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realized over a yearlong collaboration with Robert. He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina’s hand.” Procop, who works with Jolie on her “The Style of Jolie” jewelry line, added, “Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.” Rumors of an engagement originated when Jolie — along with Pitt and their son Pax — was spotted with a whopping piece of bling on her finger. The family was photographed at a private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Chinese Galleries on Wednesday. The pair got together in 2005 after meeting on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. They have six kids together, who frequently travel with the couple across the globe. The twosome have been pretty vocal over the years about not getting married until everyone has the right to marry, but in an interview earlier this year with THR, Pitt seemed to be warming up to the idea, mostly because of their kids. “We’d actually like to,” he said of his seven-year partner, Jolie, “and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.” He added, “I’m not going to go any further. When Angelina Jolie signed on for the title role in Disney’s Maleficent , she did so relishing the idea of her kids seeing her as the Sleeping Beaut y villain. “It’s a really great script. I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve already got my horns fitted ,” Jolie told Entertainment Weekly on Friday. “My kids are very happy.” “It’s not anti-princess, but it’s the first time that they’re looking at this epic woman [in a different way],” she says of the new take on the fairytale classic. “You see a woman capable of being many things; just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities,” the leg-thrusting actress adds. “You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is.” Jolie says there are redeeming qualities to her character, despite her ruthlessness. “It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that’s good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you’re saying they should be a villain,” Jolie says. “[Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she’s not perfect. She’s far from perfect.” The actress has already begun working with the costume department to perfect her look for the film, which begins shooting in June. “We’re experimenting with different things,” Jolie says. “But the horns are the horns – you can’t deny them. You have to have horns.”

You know what I mean?” “I don’t watch the shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don’t click on it. And the people I surround myself with don’t really talk about that kind of stuff … I did hear something, but I didn’t pay any attention.” “It’s as simple as being a woman, picking out a dress you like and having a good night, and not really thinking about anything else.” Yeah right.
