Angelina Jolie’s reported decision to quit acting has dominated headlines this week, but please forgive me for taking it with a grain of salt. The superstar is only the latest actor to claim that retirement is imminent, though if her forebears are any indication, that plan will surely be shredded soon. And Brad and Jen are sneaking around ?!? – Angelina Jolie sits down with the latest issue of Vanity Fair and opens up about a number of life issues. Among them: the possibility of more children; an eventual marriage to Brad Pitt; and whether there will be a Mr. & Mrs. Smith sequel. Excerpts are below… Will she have more kids? “We’re not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time. They’re kids now, and can play together, but they’re going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don’t build a family so big that we don’t have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well.” Will she and Pitt ever get married? “it’s just like we already are. Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment [than marriage]. It’s for life.” Will she quit acting? “I’m very, very grateful, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury… But I don’t think I’ll do it much longer. Because I have a happy home… I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing and I suddenly found myself dancing around with a bunch of little fun crazy people.” Will she and Pitt ever co-star in another movie? “I’d love to. We’ve talked about it. We’d have to figure out who’s going to watch the kids, but it’s really about finding the right thing, because we’ve looked. When you’re a couple, there are certain things people don’t want to see you do. It becomes too indulgent, too personal. “I don’t think people want to see people who are really together intimate on-screen. Maybe we have to play bad guys that try to kill each other, so it’s just fun and aggressive, not dealing with some man-woman deal.” This issue goes on sale nationwide on July 6. To say Jon Voight is not a huge fan of Barack Obama would probably be a fairly safe statement, but Angelina Jolie’s estranged father has really outdone himself now. Slamming the Commander-in-Chief again in an open letter in the Washington Post , the 71-year-old staunch Republican makes some pretty strong accusations. Jon’s views, in a nutshell: Barack Obama propagandizes and hates Jews while defending criminals, illegal immigrants and terrorists for political gain. Harsh. The letter makes his anti-health care rant seem tame. Here’s what Voight had to say about Obama, who he previously termed a ” false prophet ” and his controversial foreign and domestic policies. Do you agree? “President Obama: “You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies.” “You have done the opposite.” “You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone’s enemy – and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm’s way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.” “You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases.” “Now you are playing a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. Producer Scott Rudin has optioned new book and is developing role for Jolie. Stacy Schiff’s book “Cleopatra: A Life” has been optioned for a film adaptation, with the mega-star in talks for the title role. Details are sparse at this point: USA Today reports that Schiff and Little, Brown publisher Michael Pietsch revealed earlier this week that producer Scott Rudin had purchased the rights to the biography, with Jolie in mind for the starring role. A follow-up call to Rudin’s office confirmed that the movie “is being developed for and with Jolie.” Cleopatra (who was of Macedonian, not Egyptian, descent) has long been a subject for film treatments, extending all the way back to the early silent era. Tiger Woods’ wife Elin is reportedly seeking full custody of the couple’s two children, but may be leaning toward remaining in South Florida, according to sources. Elin and the kids are currently in China visiting her brother and she’s rumored to be mulling a return to her native Sweden – permanently. But perhaps no longer. As divorce talks have progressed, Elin Woods has indicated a desire to stay in Florida, albeit in the southern part of the state, a few hours away from Orlando. Elin may be seeking up to $750 million in a divorce, and wants full custody of the children, according to a source close to the situation, causing serious tension. Her desire to move to Sweden, while understandable, could create big problems with Tiger as he wants to see his children often. Thus the South Florida idea. Will Elin Woods stay in Florida to speed the divorce along? “She has good friends in South Florida,” one source said of Elin recently. “She has spent time with them this year and she’s interested in moving to the area.” “It could be the perfect solution. If she has any chance on Tiger not fighting her on seeking full custody , then he’s going to want to see his kids regularly.” If Elin stays in the area, i.e. a few hours away by car and even less by plane, “that would be much easier and could avoid big problems with the divorce.” She’s been creating a life without Tiger, traveling regularly and rarely interacting with him – the two are not on speaking terms despite living a mile apart.
