Jennifer Lopez may have split from Marc Anthony last month, but tabloids have never been more in love with this singer. She’s been featured on numerous covers since the divorce announcement, with one claiming there’s a plan to reunite J. Lo with ex-fiance Ben Affleck , his kids and wife be damned! The latest coverage, sadly, is not nearly as scandalous. Us Weekly claims that Lopez has vowed to make Anthony “pay,” while Life & Style is perpetuating the rumor that there’s a romance brewing between Jennifer and Rodrigo Santoro… What’s the true scoop? We may never know. But Lopez actually spoke to Vanity Fair for its latest issue. She says she’s sad her relationship is over, but she still believes in love and hasn’t given up just yet on happily ever after.

Ian Somerhalder is so much more than a pretty face. While the actor is accustomed to making female viewers scream on The Vampire Diaries , he went to D.C. this week with the goal of making Congress listen. The founder of The IS Foundation – which aims to “positively impact the planet and its creatures” – Somerhalder testified before lawmakers on behalf of the Multinational Species Coalition. Ian Somerhalder Speaks to Congress “Wildlife and environmental conservation has always been not just a passion, but a priority of mine,” he said, hoping to raise funds for organizations that include the World Wildlife Fund, the Sierra Club and the National Audubon Society. A native of Louisiana, Somerhalder has worked tirelessly to clean up disasters in that area such as the April 2010 BP oil spill. But he cast an even wider net in this appearance, referencing African elephants, marine turtles, tigers, gorillas and chimpanzees and saying: “Due to instability or indifference in the areas that many of these species call home, for most of them we are the first, last, and only hope for survival. As the ones with the power to make a difference, the responsibility rests with us. It is imperative that we live up to it. “On behalf of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation and the Alliance for Global Conservation, I urge the Subcommittee to mark-up H.R. 50 and move to reauthorize this important piece of legislation.”
NBC is firing back at reports that it is involved in a major bidding war for Casey Anthony – and leading the pack no less – denying that it ever offered money. An NBC rep says: “NBC News has not and will not be in a bidding war for a Casey Anthony interview. No money has or will be offered, no licensing or other arrangements.” “If we were to conduct an interview it would be under our standards.” The network doesn’t deny interest in landing a sit-down with Anthony. In fact, the rep confirms NBC paid for Jose Baez ‘s hotel in NYC last week. Baez, Casey’s attorney, was believed to be holed up and negotiating for interviews on her behalf, and talking about a “big price tag” for them. Sources connected with ABC insist there was indeed a bidding war between all three major networks for Anthony, and even Anthony’s parents. While networks don’t pay for interviews, technically, they frequently get around this by licensing photos and videos – such as this alleged one Casey Anthony drinking – at whatever price they want, effectively the exact same thing.

The surprising Jennifer Lopez-Marc Anthony split continues to generate rumors regarding why the seemingly-happy couple is divorcing after seven years. Us ‘ cover story suggests infidelity was a concern – if not an overt reason – for the twosome, parents to 3-year-old twins Emme and Max, parting ways. At issue specifically? Anthony’s fling with a flight attendant. A source says that Anthony hooked up with a flight attendant he met aboard a private plane in 2009, and that for J. Lo, that was almost it right there. “Marc and Jennifer almost split up over it,” the source says. “Jennifer was going to leave him then, but Marc begged her to stay. They went to marriage counseling and she gave it another shot. He was someone she truly loved.” Although Anthony and the American Idol judge weathered that storm of infidelity, his jealousy over Lopez’s sex symbol status and successful career continued to drive a wedge between them – one they ultimately couldn’t bridge. Marc’s controlling behavior over his wife’s wardrobe and business endeavors – and his own unfounded paranoia – ultimately did them in. Very sad.
It’s the topic of the week in the supermarket tabloid world: Why did Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony file for divorce? Rumors abound, many of them blaming Anthony for the split and citing jealousy/control issues . Now, People Magazine takes it a step further: in this week’s issue , the publication says J. Lo worried about infidelity on at least three occasions. An Anthony insiders refutes this claim, though, says the two just “started to see things differently” and: “Though they love, admire and respect each other very much, they just needed to be apart.” Pick up the latest issues of these magazines for more J. Lo/M. Ant scoop! Meanwhile, Us Weekly says Ben Affleck actually played a role in the split. Lopez’s ex was reportedly contacted by Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe. She “reached out to Ben over email” for advice on her daughter, various sources assert. “She always liked and trusted him. [Ben] replied back on email, wished her well and offered what he could,” a mole said. A few days after Affleck allegedly talked with Jennifer, she filed for divorce. The tabloid cites Anthony’s controlling nature for the split and concludes: Lopez “actually has low self-esteem. And Marc really played into that insecurity. That’s why she put up with his abuse for such a long time.”
If you couldn’t tell from the trailer for Friends with Benefits — which features star Justin Timberlake singing not one, but two cheesy one-hit wonder classics (“Jump” by Kris Kross and “Closing Time” by Semisonic), the former N’S ync’er loves toying with his musical past. Couple that with the fact that the last time Timberlake appeared with Jimmy Fallon on Late Night , the pair performed “The History of Rap,” and it shouldn’t be a surprise that a sequel was in the offing.
