Now, a rundown of the week that was at The Hollywood Gossip : Casey Anthony Verdict Reading In a surprising verdict, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murder. The jurors were sick about the decision, but feel they upheld the law. Due to time served, the accused child killer is set to be released soon. Some, including Nancy Grace , remain extremely critical of Anthony. There was some non-Casey Anthony news this week, we think. Like … Some Amber Rose nude pics were allegedly sent to Nicki Minaj’s BF. Maria Shriver officially moved to divorce Arnold Schwarzenegger . Chord Overstreet was let go by Glee … but not by Emma Roberts. Bristol Palin opened up about losing her v-card and moral code . Prince William and Kate Middleton hit Canada. We’re next!! Bow Wow admitted fathering a child in a strange web rant. Is Lady Gaga a ticking time bomb plagued by health woes? Obligatory Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie marriage article. Not everybody is in love with Justin Bieber . Snooki Dances With Plant Snooki danced with a plant, wasted, while filming Jersey Shore. Vinny Guadagnino peaced out of the show after an altercation. A Bachelorette staffer was fired for harassing Craig Robinson . Will Emily Maynard be the next Bachelorette after Ashley H.? Either way, Bachelor Pad Season 2 is coming in early August. That may rival Big Brother 13 as the guiltiest TV pleasure. Actualy, the Teen Mom season premiere was up there too. Brock Ritter appeared on Toddlers & Tiaras . Brock is male. Charlie Sheen will soon be starring in a new sitcom . That hot mess Kari Ann Peniche is pregnant . It’s not her husband’s. Weston Cage and Nikki Williams are also expecting and divorcing. Roy Williams’ marriage proposal didn’t work out the way he planned. Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy might be back (still) together after all. Ashley Finestone is rumored to be Michael Phelps’ secret girlfriend. Yasmin Mitri may be the secret, shady girlfriend of Richie Sambora. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel may be giving things another shot. Ditto Pete Wentz and Michelle Trachtenberg, who dated way back. Alexis Knapp, likely Ryan Phillippe baby mama, became a mama . Natalie Portman revealed her baby boy’s name . Keri Russell is pregnant.

THG Asks: Did the Casey Anthony Jury Get it Right?

Welcome to THG Asks, a feature in which two of our celebrity gossip experts debate topical issues in the entertainment world and you decide who wrote the winning argument! Today, THG Asks : Did the jury in the Casey Anthony case get it right? YES by Hilton Hater I firmly believe Casey Anthony is guilty. But I don’t know this for a fact. I wouldn’t bet my life on it. Would you? That’s the decision jurors were faced with in this case; heck, in any court case. A strong suspicion isn’t enough, a hatred for the defendant doesn’t suffice, a number of lies and conflicting stories don’t add up to the one key element missing here: EVIDENCE. Can you tell me how Caylee died? Is there DNA that links Casey to the scene? Is there anything beyond (admittedly grotesque) stories of how Casey partied soon after her daughter disappeared and her searches for terms such as “chloroform” online? Our court system places an extreme burden of proof on the prosecution because the last thing anyone wants is for an innocent person to be convicted. Jury members are instructed to take the words “beyond a reasonable doubt” very seriously. A killer has almost definitely walked free. Nancy Grace has been given opportunities to rant like an attention-starved lunatic. Both results are regrettable. But, given a lack of hard evidence, I’m not sure what we could do to change them.

Casey Anthony to Be Sued By "Zanny the Nanny"

Casey Anthony’s release from jail July 13 won’t necessarily mean the end of her legal problems. The accused murderer may be sued in a civil case. Attorney John Morgan, who represents Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, has filed a subpoena to question Casey and served her at Orange County Jail. Gonzalez claims she can’t find work and was ostracized after Anthony told police officials that a woman with the same name kidnapped her daughter. Investigators quickly established that Gonzalez had nothing to do with the case and Casey’s babysitter “Zanny the Nanny” was a total fabrication. Anthony was sentenced to four years in prison for lies to police like that one, but having served almost all of that already, will go free next week. In any case, Gonzalez is seeking $15,000 in damages for damages to her reputation, loss of job, humiliation and distress brought by Anthony. The worst part for Anthony is the possibility of being forced to testify at trial and questioned under oath, which she did not at her murder trial. While Anthony was acquitted of murder, questions potentially asked during a defamation suit against her could prove very difficult to answer. The subpoena demands Anthony appear at Morgan’s Florida office July 19 at 10 a.m. for a deposition, where she will be questioned under oath. Casey is officially broke, but stands to make a fortune from interviews, photographs plus film and book rights , after her sensational acquittal. On the flip side, she owes investigative and court costs associated with earlier check-fraud convictions – and likely a fortune for her murder defense. In short, you haven’t heard the last of her by a longs hot.

Parents of Casey Anthony Call Defense "Baseless," Verdict "Fair"

George and Cindy Anthony are clearly dealing with conflicting emotions. Questions of what happened to two-year-old Caylee Anthony remain unanswered after the jury found Casey Anthony not guilty of murder Tuesday. No one is more aware of that than Caylee’s grandparents, who Casey pretty much threw under the bus, and who implied her guilt more than once. “The family may never know what happened to Caylee Marie Anthony,” George and Cindy Anthony’s lawyer said in a statement. “They now have closure for this chapter of their life. They will now begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.” “Despite the baseless defense chosen by Casey Anthony, the family believes that the jury made a fair decision based on the evidence presented … and the rules that they were given by the Honorable Judge Perry to guide them.” So … unlike Nancy Grace , we have no idea what they really think. During the trial, George Anthony was a target of his daughter’s defense, which accused him of both molesting Casey and having an affair with a woman, Krystal Holloway, who helped the family search for Caylee. He denied the affair took place and the judge disallowed further mention of sexual abuse in closing arguments, saying the claims weren’t proven. Cindy Anthony, however, was a key defense witness, taking credit for shady online searches for chloroform and some other incriminating terms. Casey’s mother also provided an explanation for how Caylee could have gotten into the family pool and drowned as the defense theorized. In their statement , Casey Anthony’s parents concluded with their hopes for members of the public who want to honor poor, innocent Caylee. Instead of leaving stuffed animals or toys near their home, the family “would prefer that items be donated in Caylee’s name to families in need, religious centers, or any other entity where the toys would be appreciated.” What do you think? Hope for Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin?

Reports of the demise of Anthony Weiner’s marriage to Huma Abedin may be premature. Just days after sources claimed the horny former Congressman was headed to rehab , while his pregnant wife was taking time apart from her troubled man, witnesses spotted the couple together on July 4. And seemingly content! Spotted at the Organic Market near their Forest Hills apartment, Weiner and Abedin “looked happy,” a witness told The New York Daily News . “Huma was laughing and they were talking and having fun and looked totally normal, like nothing was wrong,” the insider said. “They were affectionate with one another and talking about what supplies they should pick up for the Fourth.” Sources even say the two are shopping for a bigger place in Manhattan together. They do have a child on the way.

George Anthony Cries on Stand, Implies Daughter Killed Caylee

Yesterday, George Anthony took the stand and defended himself against allegations that he carried on an affair with a woman who was helping him search for his grandchild, Caylee. Today, he implied that daughter Casey is behind Caylee’s death. George Anthony Testimony “The car smelled like human decomposition. Caylee was last seen with Casey,” George testified, growing emotional. “One and one adds up to two in my mind. I was trying to put all the stories together. ” Casey Anthony shook her head and scribbled notes to her legal team as her father answered questions. George said he felt a “deep, deep hurt inside” when Caylee’s remains were found a couple years ago. He even attempted suicide soon after because “it just seemed like the right time to go, to be with Caylee. To spend time with Caylee. I didn’t want to be in this world anymore.” The defense, who is trying to make jurors believe George abused his daughter and that somehow explains her changing story, asked the witness if he ever touched Casey inappropriately. “Sir, I never would do anything to harm my daughter in that way,” he said.

Roy Kronk testified in Casey Anthony#39;s murder trial on Tuesday that he was with two colleagues when he stepped into the woods to relieve himself in August 2008 – four months before Caylee#39;s body was discovered.
