In a recent interview, Miley Cyrus said her controversial Wrecking Ball video was inspired by Sinead O’Connor’s video for the track “Nothing Compares 2 U.” Having learned of this statement, the 46-year old Irish singer has reached out to the lightning rod of a 20-year0old artist via an open letter on the Internet. In it, she offers both a scathing critique and a few words of inspiring wisdom. O’Connor, who knows a bit about causing controversy herself, writes: “I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos.” “It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether it’s the music business or yourself doing the pimping.” O’Connor – who has never been shy about her opinion (once tearing up a photo of The Pope during an SNL performance) – went on to diss the music industry and explain her worries. “The music business doesn’t give a sh*t about you, or any of us,” she tells Miley. “They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think its what YOU wanted…” Miley Cyrus Takes Wrecking Ball to Her Career “And when you end up in rehab as a result of being prostituted, ‘they’ will be sunning themselves on their yachts in Antigua, which they bought by selling your body and you will find yourself very alone.” Cyrus said on last night’s MTV special that she plans to take over the world , but O’Connor advises her to focus on her “talent” over her “looks” in order to do so. And the veteran artist does believe Miley Cyrus has “obvious” talent. “As for the shedding of the Hannah Montana image… whoever is telling you getting naked is the way to do that does absolutely NOT respect your talent, or you as a young lady,” she wrote. “Your records are good enough for you not to need any shedding of Hannah Montana. For The Bachelorette star Desiree Hartsock, it all comes down to this. A season full of turmoil comes to a conclusion tonight on ABC, with so much still up in the air. Will Brooks be back? Will Des leave single and heartbroken? Will Chris and Drew find out about last week? Do they have any shot? Here’s a look at what The Bachelorette spoilers indicate about this evening’s finale, why they could be wrong, and why they’re probably not wrong … The Bachelorette Season Finale Preview (Part II) First, a brief rundown on last week’s drama: After two fabulous dates with Chris and Drew, Brooks CRUSHED Des with the revelation that he’s not ready. Awkwardness and tears ensued like never before on this show. Which is certainly saying something. As is the fact that, unheard of in The Bachelorette universe, there was no rose ceremony, no elimination … nothing. All three finalists are still technically in the mix … or are they? Throughout the spring and summer, spoilers have been spotty, but more or less consistent. The consensus has been that Brooks wins, or no one does. While there’s been plenty of chatter about how The Bachelorette spoilers were “wrong” in light of last week’s exit by Brooks, consider these points: There’s still the second half of the season finale to go. The spoilers aren’t inconsistent with any of this. The Bachelorette story editors are masters. We’re not insinuating that their breakup was staged, merely that Brooks may not be gone for good. Did he even leave Antigua after departing in the car? We have no idea yet, and he could quickly turn around and change his mind, proposing and living happily ever after with Desiree. It’s possible, even likely. Why? ABC’s episode synopsis says Desiree is ready to go home after being left “devastated, heartbroken and hopeless” on the edge of a dock. The 27-year-old bridal stylist will now be forced to decide if “she can move forward with the other two men or if her hope of finding love will be ruined.” “The final days of Desiree’s journey are filled with questions. If she does see promise in either Chris or Drew, will she introduce them to her family?” “Whether they meet her family or not, will Desiree’s brother, Nate, play a role in sabotaging her quest for love again? Desiree must look inward.” She must consider “if the love she has always wanted is right in front of her, or if her heartache over Brooks will crush her dreams of finding a soul mate.” Brooks Forester Dumps Desiree Hartsock If Brooks Forester was her top pick all along, as we’ve been inclined to believe, this synopsis suggests that the season finale is still all about Brooks. Des has already lamented that Chris and Drew are “amazing, unreal guys” who are in love her, but “I just can’t love them as much” and for her “it’s over.” If she simply carried on in Brooks’ absence and chose one of them, why the cliffhanger? And why the synopsis above that teases two hours of filler? Long story short, we’re likely in for two more heartbreaking splits tonight. The only question is whether Des leaves single or together with Brooks. If we’re wrong, and she merely gets engaged to Drew or Chris, that would easily go down as the biggest shocker in Bachelorette history, bar none. But we’re almost certain it’s Brooks or no one, and confident they’re engaged. That’s been the rumor all season long, and those supposedly in the know have not wavered – even if Des’ brother Nate says Reality Steve is wrong. Regarding that recent boast by Nate, here are some other scenarios we could see playing out, absent a proposal by Brooks and acceptance by Des: Brooks returns … with no ring. He apologizes and they agree to date, figure things out, etc. So he wins the Final Rose, but does not propose. Brooks returns … but Des begins to second-guess his intentions and seriousness after speaking with Chris, then REJECTS his proposal. Brooks returns … and gets engaged to Des … but not on the season finale itself. Maybe it happens on the After the Final Rose special? Perhaps a combination of 2 and 3? There could be a twist, but from everything we’ve heard, and seen, Desiree Hartsock and Brooks Forester are together. That’s what we’ve got for you heading into tonight. Now it’s time for your take! Rumors have been “swirling” for months now that Tiger Woods has been blowing Lindsey Vonn’s backs to smithereens but while Vonn once denied they were more than friends, she’s not saying that anymore. Via US Weekly reports : Mum’s the word for Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods. As rumors swirl that the Olympic skier, 28, is in a serious relationship with the divorced golf pro, 37, both athletes are staying tight-lipped on the subject and refusing to discuss any personal matters whatsoever. But back in December, when European media first speculated that the two were an item, Vonn was a little more open about the nature of her relationship with Woods. “We are just friends,” she told the Denver Post after winning her second World Cup downhill at Lake Louise, Alberta. “My brother was the ski instructor for his kids this November in Vail. Guessing that’s where it came from.” Hollywood Life claims, however, that Vonn herself is teaching the golfer’s two children (Sam, 5, and Charlie, 2) to master the slopes. They say the sports superstars have been dating since November and have spent time together in Antigua and Salzburg, Austria. So are they or aren’t they? “Lindsey is currently in the midst of the World Cup season in Europe,” Vonn’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement. “Her focus is solely on competing and on defending her titles and thus she will not participate in any speculation surrounding her personal life at this time.” In fact, the gold medalist only recently finalized her divorce from fellow skier Thomas Vonn, whom she married in September 2007. Shortly after their November 2011 separation, however, she was linked to another headline-making athlete: New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow (then a Denver Bronco). The two were spotted hanging out together at the ESPYs and at various ski races. She also joined his family at one of his football games against the Chicago Bears. “Lindsey is just friends with the Tebow family. Anyone who is trying to suggest any more to their relationship is wrong,” her rep told the New York Post’s Page Six at the time. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel married Friday in Italy, and have been together for so long that his serious relationship with Britney Spears has been all but forgotten. It’s been revisited in unlikely fashion, thanks to Sam Lutfi’s lawsuit against Britney. Lutfi says Britney overdosed on drugs , which he tried to stop, and that she owes him money for past managerial duties, along with damages for defaming him since. Her attorneys tell a drastically different story. Britney’s breakup with Justin a decade ago left her depressed and angry, the beginning of a downward spiral that lasted for years, an attorney for the Spears family said. In the defamation and breach-of-contract case brought against Britney and her parents by her Sam Lutfi , Leon Gladstone sought to portray Spears’ dad as her savior. Britney’s relationship with onetime fellow Mouseketeer Timberlake ” ended painfully ,” he said, after which her parents, Jamie and Lynne, noticed a change in her. “This is a story of a close family, but not a perfect one,” Gladstone said. “It’s a story of a man who actually wanted nothing more for his daughter than to live and be well.” “It’s a story of a father who has had to step up and take action that he never thought he would have to take… actions that didn’t perhaps endear his daughter to him.” Jamie Spears ultimately had to “force his daughter into rehab,” Spears’ counsel said. “He had to take her kids away. He had to get her into a conservatorship.” Britney underwent treatment at Promises in Malibu in early 2007 and ex-husband Kevin Federline was awarded primary custody of their sons, Sean and Jayden, that fall. The conservatorship was established in February 2008 after Britney Spears had been briefly hospitalized twice for psychiatric issues at UCLA Medical Center. At the same time, Jamie took control of his daughter’s estate, he and ex-wife Lynne (they have since reconciled) got a three-year restraining order against Sam Lutfi. They have accused him of manipulating their daughter and marshaling the paparazzi’s surveillance of her during the months he became her near-constant companion. According to the attorney, Jamie told Britney in 2077, “You are going to kill yourself or one of your kids,” and that’s when he pushed her to go to rehab. Britney flew to Antigua for treatment, but flew right back. Then she checked into Promises, but left after a day, prompting K-Fed to get permanent full custody. “To Jamie, this was a life and death battle,” he said, “and Britney at this point was at her most vulnerable – and at the point that she is at her most vulnerable, she meets Mr. Lutfi.” The rest, as they say, is history we’d rather forget.
