Nominations for the Academy of Country Music Awards are in, and it appears that the 49th annual event will feature some familiar faces at the podium. Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban lead the pack, along with Lee Brice, Kacey Musgraves, The Voice coach Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift. Lambert and McGraw each earned seven nods, while Urban garnered six. Musgraves, Shelton and Swift are each nominated in five of the categories. Others earning multiple nods included Lady Antebellum, with four, and Darius Rucker, with three, including the coveted Song of the Year honors. First-time nominees include Bob Dylan for Song of the Year and Nelly, for vocal event of the year for his “Cruise” remix with Florida Georgia Line. Country traditionalist George Strait was honored with his 14th career Entertainer of the Year nomination. He last won the ACM’s top award in 1989. The nominees were unveiled by the likes of Erin Andrews, Duck Dynasty ‘s Willie and Korie Robertson , Katy Perry, 2 Broke Girls’ Beth Behrs and others. Straight from the horses mouth Chantel Jeffries Defends Herself Against Arrest Accusations Via EOnline The 21-year-old model, who rode shotgun in Justin Bieber’s rented Lamborghini when the singer was arrested for DUI, released a statement regarding New York Daily News and Daily Mail articles that claimed her rap sheet lists five arrests, including one in February 2011 for misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon. “I have been overwhelmed by the negative attention I have recently received in the media,” Jeffries tells E! News in a statement. “My family and I are particularly upset about the false accusations which have been published concerning my criminal history.” “For the record, I have not been arrested five times as has been stated in the media, nor am I guilty of physically assaulting anyone, in any way shape or form,” she adds. “I am a full-time student who had enjoyed a normal lifestyle, free from public scrutiny and criticism, until now. “What has happened to me is wrong. I want people in general, and the media in particular, to consider the impact their disparaging comments have on the individual; especially when their comments are inaccurate.” Tellingly, she does not deny all of the alleged arrests.
