Combing this news with the latest security fears from Denise Richards, at least Sheen’s antics are resulting in extra work around the country. Still, there has to be a safer, less insane way to create jobs, doesn’t there? Meanwhile, if you wish to see Sheen on TV and not in person, circle April 12 on your calendar. On that date, the star will play a role on Drew Carey’s Improv-A-Ganza . It airs on the Game Show Network and the appearance dates back to January, when Charlie joined the show’s cast on stage for a performance at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. ‘A lot of girls look up to guys who embody that,’ she tells MTV News of her character’s questionable taste in guys. By Kara Warner Photo: CBS Films As we’ve learned from promos and teaser trailers for “Beastly,” the movie is a modern take on the classic fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast.” Co-starring Vanessa Hudgens and “I Am Number Four” leading man Alex Pettyfer , the basic premise is the same, but there’s a key difference in this long-delayed adaptation. In “Beastly,” Hudgens’ character, Lindy, is a high-schooler operating on the outskirts of the cool crowd when she develops an attraction to Pettyfer’s bad boy, Kyle, who has yet to have his movie-star looks marred by any spells. When MTV News caught up with the “High School Musical” star recently, we asked what she thought about her character’s attraction to the proverbial bad boy. “I feel like a lot of girls think it’s easier to go under the radar, to not really stand up and let their true selves be known,” Hudgens explained about Lindy’s desire to stay in the background. “And I feel like when that happens, a lot of girls look up to guys who embody that, who are just truly out there and, of course, my character falls for that, as a lot of other girls would,” she said. Hudgens went on to say that while the “opposites attract” idea initially draws Lindy to the school’s most popular guy, she senses that there’s more to him and eventually connects to Kyle’s softer side. “Slowly, she falls in love with him, not for his appearance, which I think is the most beautiful part of it,” she said. “Beastly” hits theaters on Friday. Director Dennis Dugan confirms Depp’s cameo to MTV News at ‘Just Go With It’ premiere. By Eric Ditzian Johnny Depp Photo: CBS On the absolutely frigid red carpet for Adam Sandler’s “Just Go With It” on Tuesday night, MTV News got an answer to a burning question about another upcoming Sandler comedy, “Jack and Jill.” Last month, paparazzi photos surfaced showing Johnny Depp visiting the set of “Jack and Jill,” in which Sandler plays both halves of a boy/girl set of twins, leading to speculation that the “Pirates of Caribbean” star will make a cameo in the flick. We put that question to director Dennis Dugan — who’s helmed not only “Just Go With It” and “Jack and Jill,” but five other Sandler films — and got a cameo confirmation. “There’s a secret guest star, but I can’t say who it is,” Dugan said, before admitting: “Johnny Depp.” We followed up to make sure Dugan wasn’t just messing with us. “No!” he said. So we can mark that rumor as official fact, though Dugan stopped short of letting us know the exact nature of Depp’s cameo. But the mere fact that Depp has signed on for the appearance is not only kind of great, but gives us hope that he’ll also pop up for a cameo in the big-screen adaptation of “21 Jump Street.” Goodness knows MTV News has been doing everything we can to make that happen . Lindsay Lohan had yet another appearance at the courthouse yesterday, this time for some crap about stealing a necklace or something. I can’t keep track of all this crap anymore, if it’s not one thing it’s the other, but at least she looked pretty good while doing it. She cleans up rather nicely. I think I’ll send the judge an email stating that I’m willing to take her into my custody, she can spend her house arrest with me here in mother’s basement. I have plenty of cheese slices for the both of us and I need someone to help me clean my crusty socks. That should straighten her up.
