In May, ABC wrapped up Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 . This fall, ABC will kick off Grey’s Anatomy Season 13. That’s an incredibly impressive run and it doesn’t appear as if the Thursday night juggernaut will be slowing down any time soon. At this point, it’s pretty clear Grey’s Anatomy will stick around for as long as creator Shonda Rhimes wants it to stick around. And, perhaps, for as long as Ellen Pompeo is still willing to portray Dr. Meredith Grey, practically the one stable main character on a series that has seen its share of big cast changes. But fans of the program can rest easy: Based on a new interview with People Magazine, it doesn’t appear as if Pompeo is going anywhere any time soon. “My decision to stay on Grey’s was based solely on age,” Pompeo admits . “At 33, I was wise enough to know my clock was already ticking in Hollywood.” You don’t see an actor or actress make that sort of confession very often, do you? Pompeo, who acknowledges she got a “super late start” in Hollywood, is shining a light here on the kinds of challenges older actresses often face. Patrick Dempsey departed Grey’s Anatomy toward the end of Season 11, while other original cast members (such as Katherine Heigl and Sandra Oh) have also left. But not Pompeo. “I thought, ‘Why would I leave something that is super successful and pays me great to search the landscape?’ “I decided that I would stay on Grey’s and be grateful and try to ride it out for as long as I could,” she says. “And I am very happy that I made the decision to stay. It’s only gotten better with time.” But while Pompeo is happy with this choice, she has been less than thrilled over the years with the way tabloids have covered her body. “I used to get a lot of criticism for how thin I was, and I didn’t have a lot confidence because of it. But I was naturally thin,” the 46-year-old says. “I always thought it was irresponsible of the media to portray me as someone with an eating disorder because if some girls look up to me and think that’s what you have to do to look like me, it’s a horrifying concept. “I listened to the criticism a little too much – and this was pre-social media. It’s even crazier to think what women have to deal with now.” It really is. At this point, you’re probably well aware of the feud between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift and the many ways that it’s escalated over the course of the past week. Things heated up when Kim basically called Taylor out as a liar by posting proof that Kanye West got her approval on some potentially offensive lyrics before recording his song “Famous.” Celebrities took sides, and predictably, the many people that Taylor has shaded over the years sided with Kim and Kanye . But it wasn’t just A-listers who entered the fray. Even people who are only famous because they date and feud with famous people wanted in on the action. Enter Amber Rose, who these days can be found doing her best Wendy Williams impression in the most desolate wastelands of basic cable. Anyway, it seems Amber has more shade in store for her new celebrity rival, Taylor. “Amber wants to have Calvin Harris on her show to talk about Taylor Swift. She knows that he has major dirt on her and she would love to have him spill their secrets to her,” a source tells Radar Online. “She reached out to Calvin’s people to work with them to get him on her show. He’s a loose cannon and his appearance could be ratings gold.” With taking this one with several grains of salt, as Harris doesn’t really strike us as the “loose cannon” type. Earlier this week, Red Hot Chili Peppers fans were treated to 15 minutes of song, anecdotes and man wrestling when the band participated in a round of “Carpool Karaoke” with James Corden. But what we didn't see was the part where Anthony Kiedis saved a baby's life. The front man became a hero during filming, right after a dance-off that was edited out of the final version. In an interview with the UK's Radio X, Kiedis recounts the story: “We had a very interesting unscripted moment. We danced-off, we tied and then we were going to celebrate with some Mexican food on the corner. “And a woman came out of her house holding a child, saying 'my baby, my baby, my baby can't breathe!' “We all ran across the street. The lady thrust the baby into my arms. The baby was not breathing.” Kiedis, who is a father, instinctively tried CPR to try and get the infant breathing again. “I thought, 'I'm going to try and do a little baby CPR real quick to see if I can get some air into this kid. “I tried to open the mouth. Shut – locked shut. “So I started rubbing the belly, bubbles started coming out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place. “The ambulance showed up and I handed the baby over who was breathing and fine.” Pretty incredible. Okay, we totally now forgive him for that mustache. Last month, Kiedis was rushed to the hospital just hours before taking the stage at a concert in Los Angeles, forcing the band to cancel their appearance. It turned out to be inflammation in the gut, which was complicated by a stomach virus and scar tissue. Luckily, Kiedis and the baby seem to be doing fine now.
