Mel Gibson Email to Oksana Grigorieva: The Tranquilizers Make Me Nuts!

The Mel Gibson tapes are just insane. They’d be absolutely wild, disturbing stuff from any person, let alone one of the biggest movie stars in history. That said, two big questions remain unanswered: 1. Did he actually abuse Oksana Grigorieva , as she alleges? 2. What the HELL made him so crazy?! Investigators probing Mel for domestic violence are examining a secret email he sent Oksana that may offer an explanation for his erratic behavior. The email, sent the day after the alleged, violent January 6 confrontation with his then-girlfriend, reads: “The tranqullizers (sic) only make me nuts.” Is this an apparent reference to pharmaceutical drug use ? “Tranquilizers” could refer to any number of things, from depressants used to treat anxiety and insomnia to drugs aiding substance withdrawal. The actor was trying to quit smoking then, and on February 18, when ALL the now-infamous Mel Gibson phone calls were recorded by Oksana. If authentic, the email obtained today by Radar Online could shed new light on the psychological state of the troubled star and his pure rage . The message was supposedly retrieved from Oksana’s phone and computer, confiscated as part of the criminal probe underway involving Gibson. Mel supposedly sent the email January 7 at 9:39 a.m. The night before, Oksana has claimed, Mel punched her while she was holding baby Lucia. Mel’s lawyers have never addressed the tapes or his comments, but say that he ever struck Oksana Grigorieva and have accused her of extortion. Eleven minutes after he sent that, Mel apologetically wrote again, pleading with her to call so he could tell her “how unspeakably sorry” he was.

Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez: Still Together, Possibly Cast on Dancing With the Stars!

Following their somewhat surprising engagement Monday on The Bachelorette season finale and their emotional After the Final Rose reunion, we can happily report that yes, Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez are still together. We may not have seen the last of them on ABC, either. Amid recent breakups of Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, and more scandalously Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, the idea of Ali Fedotowsky and her man making it to the altar will obviously have skeptics. But they’re off to a good start. Roberto hasn’t slept with half of Chicago during his sequestration period like Ed, nor is he insane, controlling and altogether phony like Jake. As for Ali and Vienna … we don’t have to explain. Ali and Roberto are moving to San Diego and planning a Spring 2011 wedding! The two certainly appeared happy and overjoyed to be reunited in their appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Good Morning America last night and today. Will we soon see them on ABC’s other hit reality series? The new cast of Dancing with the Stars will be unveiled August 30 during (what else) Bachelor Pad . According to reports, both Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez have been asked to be on DWTS , a la Jake. We suspect one or more will accept that offer. As for the next Bachelor , what we’re hearing is that last night’s runner-up, Chris Lambton, can have the gig if he wants it. Not a surprise there in the least. With his classy exit on Monday’s Bachelorette finale , and having already cemented his place as a major fan favorite, it’s the IDEAL setup for The Bachelor . The question is whether he does it. Unlike Jake, poor Chris seems very genuine and does not seem hell bent on becoming famous. So will see … and hope! As for Ali and Roberto: Will they last? Vote below!

Lee DeWyze Says There’s Still ‘A Lot To Prove’ On His New Album

‘I’m not here to change the music world,’ the ‘American Idol’ champ tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Lee DeWyze Photo: MTV News It’s been exactly one week, but Lee DeWyze still can’t believe he won “American Idol.” The words seem strange even coming out of his mouth. “Yeah, it’s weird to say it, man,” he told MTV News on Wednesday (June 2). “I’m lovin’ it, to be sure, but man, it feels weird to say ‘ “American Idol” champion.’ ” To further illustrate that point, DeWyze said he can’t really remember how he felt — or what he did — when “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest announced that he’d been crowned the champ of season nine. It’s all just one rather glorious, delirious blur. “I was lost, dude. I didn’t know where I was! It was so crazy and intense, because everything we’ve done had led up to that point. And it was like, ‘And the winner is … ‘ And then there’s like the six-month pause, and then he says my name, and I was like, ‘Wow,’ ” he laughed. “It was just a big weight off my shoulders, and it felt amazing. I had it in my head what I would say or do if I won or if I lost, and all of that went out the window. … I’ve watched it back, and I try to remember what it was like. There’s some parts I don’t really remember. I remember being up there, and then the next thing you know, I was in the room with the press. It was just really fast and nonstop.” And things haven’t really let up since then. There has been the constant promotional cycle that comes with winning “Idol” — the performances and the appearances on TV shows — and then the upcoming American Idols Live! Tour. DeWyze doesn’t mind all the fuss that comes with winning the show (“Why would I complain about any of it?” he laughed), but more than anything, he’s really looking forward to getting into a recording studio to begin work on his album — which he’ll do whenever he has a free moment in between tour stops. “The studio and the stage are obviously two completely different things, so it’s going to be interesting to see how going from the live performances to the recording and back is going to pan out, but I’m really looking forward to it, because I’m going to have a lot of say in it,” he said. “I think that’s another misconception about ‘American Idol,’ is that once you go on there, you’re forced to do this or forced to wear that … we’re not. We get a lot of freedom and a lot of say. So I’m just looking forward to making a record I can be proud of.” What will that record sound like? Well, it’s still early, but DeWyze said fans can expect to hear some different sides of him — the kind of stuff he didn’t really get to show off on “Idol.” Though he knows winning the show only raises expectations, he’s ready and willing to take on the task at hand and whatever tasks come after that. “I’m sure there’s going to be elements of pop somewhere in there, there always is, and elements of rock and a folky feel. I’m not trying to go out there and do something that’s never been done. It’s all been done … and I think now, it’s more or less an opportunity for people to show who they are through their music,” he said. “I’m not here to change the music world, but I’m definitely here to show what I can do and express myself through my music. So to do that’s going to be cool, and to prove myself. Because I don’t feel that, just because I won ‘American Idol,’ that, you know, now I’ve made it. There’s a lot to prove still. There’s an album to put out, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s all about the process for me, you know? Just making the album, touring, doing all that stuff and seeing where I’m at in a year from now.” Where do you think Lee will be a year from now? Let us know in the comments! Lena Horne Funeral Attended By Family, Famous Friends

Vanessa Williams was among mourners at New York memorial service. By James Montgomery Lena Horne’s funeral program Jazz great Lena Horne, who died Sunday at age 92, was remembered by hundreds of mourners at New York’s St. Ignatius Loyola church on Friday (May 14). At the funeral — attended by Vanessa Williams, former Mayor David Dinkins and actress Jenny Lumet — Horne was remembered by those who knew her as a girl from Brooklyn who became a world-renowned singer and actress and, in the process, lent her voice to those oppressed by decades of racism. But she was also so much more. “[She] was so many ideas existing all at the same time, in the same space, and they were all conflicting, and they were all true,” Lumet said, according to reports . “I’ve tried to sum her up and I can’t. … Summing up really means it’s over, and I think she’s not over and that she’s quite infinite.” Horne’s paternal grandparents were early members of the NAACP civil-rights organization, and in a precursor to her lifelong battle on behalf of equal rights, she was the cover girl for the organization’s monthly bulletin in October 1919, when she was just 2 years old. She would go on to sing at Harlem’s legendary Cotton Club, appear in Broadway productions and star in Hollywood films, though she would often refuse to play roles that portrayed blacks in subservient positions, which limited her appearances. By the 1940s, she was the top-earning black performer in Hollywood, playing lucrative nightclub gigs and gaining popularity among black and white G.I.’s during World War II. Horne’s sultry voice would go on to dazzle fans for decades on hits like “My Blue Heaven” and “Stormy Weather.” Upon learning of her death, a whole new generation of artists — including Alicia Keys, Diddy and Monica — remembered Horne as a pioneer and a prodigious talent, one the world would probably never see the likes of again. Chelsea Handler’s Bikini Body of the Day

I’ve watched Chelsea Lately do a couple of interviews…I’ve never watched her entire show…but she is pretty funny from what I remember and I generally don’t find anyone funny. I remember her ripping into different celebrities, making racist jokes no one got mad at her for making because she’s a chick with a harmless delivery and that in itself is genius…. She’s not that annoying and she’s not a dyke lookin’ pig of a woman like most female comedians…but most importantly she looks good in a bikini. I wasn’t all that surprised, because most girls in gyms are Jewish girls…it’s like they like to keep up their appearances as best they can…even if it takes botox, a nose job, a lot of their husband’s money on hair and make-up and clothes, and I really have no problem with a bitch aging gracefully with a little help no matter how awkward lookin she was in her prime, cuz the white trash girls I hang out with who were hot in their prime all look like a weathered, fat, tired, poor piles of shit they blame on working a life as a cashier after they were forced to quit stripping and drugs, before emotionally eating their way thru the realization that life sucks…. So you should collectively jerk off to these videos and send them to the 40 year olds you know…cuz if anything Chelsea Lately proves there’s no excuse for their pig bodies.

How MTV Is Selling Jersey Shore to Foreigners [Advertising]

Next season, Jersey Shore goes to Miami Beach. But last season’s exploits are about to go international. MTV is launching the show in more than 30 countries this week. Here’s how they are selling this most American export abroad. George Orwell once said “Advertising is the rattling of a stick inside a swill bucket.” This is so appropriate for Jersey Shore , that trash can Americans love so much to eat from. Today, Times’ Brian Stelter today explores how MTV is attempting to convince foreigners that they too should join awful feast. Turns out it is easier than you might expect. According to the Times , “MTV executives say they believe the “Jersey Shore” narrative is universally appealing.” Sort of like the Bible, or Gilligan’s Island . Even the nicknames are surprisingly cross-cultural. Writes Stelter: Mr. Sorrentino is better known as the Situation . The nickname, mocked by many in the United States, will be unchanged in Portugal, France, the Netherlands and some other markets served by MTV. Some names, it seems, defy translation. Thank God. But just what have MTV’s transnational Mad Men come up with to shill the Jersey Shore crew to the highly sophisticated Europeans and whoever else lives not in America? Let’s take a look at these foreign market Jersey Shore ads… through the eyes of a foreigner. (Images and video via the Times) According to Google Translate, the text on this ad reads “Buenos Aires, Jersey Shoreáte All the weeks desde el 24 marzo.” Bad Job, Google Translate. But I am a foreigner who speaks in many tongues, so I understand. On the poster I see a muscle man who is tan. In our culture, muscles are good—we either want to have them or want to be with someone who does. The man is adorned with flashy jewelery: Perhaps he is wealthy. I enjoy watching wealthy, fit people people flaunt their wealth. The man looks like he is aggressive. He looks both threatening and appealing. Are his hand signs American for “welcome?” or “I will fight you?” I will watch this show. This is an interesting ad. As a foreigner, I have no idea about the constellation of cultural references invoked by the phrase “Jersey Shore”. Its prominence on this ad is an enigma to me. I am intrigued, but slightly confused. But I also see a muscle man. As you already know, in my culture large muscles are good. What’s he doing? He is drinking a bottle of wine. Wine makes people go crazy. A large muscular man going crazy. Sounds like a pretty good show. Oh, and I can speak English well enough to read the slogan: “MUSCLES + GEL + TANNING BED = SEX” Well, why didn’t you just say so? I will watch this show. In this video I see two Indian men working out, attempting to “get juiced”. In my culture, Indian men are thought of as generally weak, so the paradox amuses me. I am laughing: “Hoo hoo hoo” (This is how my people laugh, you must understand.) The announcer tells me “Jersey Shore” has “got America talking.” As a foreigner, I am fascinated by America. Oh, and there are a bunch of American muscle men and American chicks with big boobs! Is this how America is? I will watch this show. In this video, an old woman is getting a “blow out”. Do I understand what a “blow out” is? Not really, but I do understand that old women should not look like this. Hoo hoo hoo. There are the same pictures of the muscle men and boob girls! I understand now: The Americans in this show are obsessed with their appearances! We, too, are obsessed with our appearances. And boobs and muscles, and America. I will watch this show. Hey, how did this American ad for Jersey Shore get in here? I do not understand any of these references: What is this “Shore House?” What is this “Guidos?” Oh, there are the boob girls and muscle men again! I will watch this show.

Sophie Monk Bikini Malfunction Photos

Australian actress Sophie Monk enjoys showing off her assets and I have never seen her feeling shy to show off. She was out frolicking around a private Southern California beach to kick off her Sunday (September 27) in a super scandalous little swimsuit. The Australian bombshell looked fabulous in her skimpy string bikini as she posed for a few pictures, during which time her top just so happened to pop off Continue reading
