Rima Fakih, Former Miss USA, Arrested For DUI

Former Miss USA Rima Fakih got arrested for DUI the other night. The 26-year-old, who became the first Miss USA of Arabian descent when she captured the crown in 2010, then managed to keep it despite controversy over some pole dancing pics , faces drunken driving charges after a weekend bust in Highland Park, Mich. Rima Fakih Tweeted Saturday: “Let’s clear things up now. … I’m NOT in Michigan and I’m NOT in jail! Wrong Fakih.” But … it sort of looks like that was the right Fakih. The post has since been removed, and on Sunday her attorney Doraid Elder confirmed the arrest , noting that her record “has not a single blemish,” other than this and that Rima is “very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she’s in.” Police offered no additional details of the arrest. The stunning beauty queen appeared to be in good spirits today however, Tweeting: “A long run always gets me energized! Its time to make football Sunday food.”

It’s going to be a long winter and spring for Gucci Mane . The troubled Atlanta rapper (born Radric Davis)  got some bad news today (October 28) when he learned that a DeKalb County judge ruled against his sentence reduction request, and he’s also been hit with a civil suit. As we previously reported, Gucci was sentenced to six months in September after pleading guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct. Those charges stem from in incident outside South DeKalb Mall in January where Gucci allegedly pushed a woman he had just picked up out of his moving vehicle. Kate Major 911 Call: Scared of Michael Lohan!

The 911 call placed by Michael Lohan’s girlfriend Kate Major after he allegedly lost it and threatened to kill her in a dispute over oral relief has been released. On the call, Major does not sound happy. You can hear a panicked Kate, who has been down this road before with MiLo, telling the operator, “I’m afraid of him. He’s gonna come in here and hit me.” She then hesitates to give out her address for some reason (as the dispatcher says, that’s what 911 is for), then appears to lie when Mike asks who she’s calling. The 36-year-old Outkast rapper (born Antwan Patton) was in a Miami courtroom Thursday (October 13), where he agreed to a deal that includes three months of drug testing, community service and a $2,000 charitable donation, according to The Associated Press. Big Boi was arrested while exiting a cruise ship in August after a K-9 police dog sniffing for drugs hit upon him. When police searched the rapper, they allegedly found substances including 10 and a half Viagra pills, three pills of suspected Ecstasy, a cigarette roller with marijuana residue and 5.7 grams of MDMA powder. He was hit with two felony drug charges, but prosecutors said that if he remains drug-free for three months, those charges will be dismissed. Following the arrest, Big Boi’s attorney, Daniel Kane, issued a statement about the incident. “While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage. I am confident when the entire facts are aired BIG BOI will be completely exonerated.” The ATLien didn’t release any statement about the deal, but he did tweet an inspirational comment about an hour after his court appearance, writing, “God is Great! #weoutchea RT @BibleWisdoms: God is light. Who knew Katie Holmes had such a horrifying streak? After screening her latest flick, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark , for her husband Tom Cruise recently, Katie said it left the actor sufficiently spooked. Holmes said Cruise had to watch another film before retiring for the evening. “I’m not sure what he watched … Maybe The Sound of Music?” Our partner site, Movie Fanatic, just saw Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (follow the above link for more on the film) and can confirm that yes, it is scary. Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro tells the story of a modern family living in an old Rhode Island mansion that has secrets buried deep below the ground. Holmes, a fan of the classics from the horror genre, admits that she appreciated del Toro’s take on the steadfast haunted-house movie storyline. Rodney King Charged Following DUI Arrest

Rodney King has been charged with misdemeanor DUI, according to reports. Stemming from his arrest July 12 in Riverside County, Calif., King was charged after officers claim they witnessed Rodney committing “multiple infractions.” Police eventually suspected he was under the influence and arrested him. King told CNN he was under the influence of a “medical marijuana prescription.” Rodney King was added to our celebrity mugshots gallery shortly thereafter. If convicted, the famous police brutality victim whose beating at the hands of four cops sparked the early ’90s L.A. riots could be facing some serious jail time. He has a prior DUI and other incidents with the law on his record.

Elsewhere In The World: American Hikers Sentenced To 8 Years In Iranian Prison For Illegal Entry And “Spying”

8 years?!?!?! An Iranian court sentenced American hikers to 8 years in prison, a state TV website said, according to Reuters. The hikers, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, have been detained since their arrest in 2009 when they were nabbed by Iranian troops while hiking on the Iran-Iraq border. A third American, Sarah Shourd, was also arrested but released on parole last year due to medical reasons. She quickly returned to America and was tried in absentia. The three were charged with illegal entry and spying, though American officials have said they were not in any way affiliated with American intelligence agencies. The final court appearance on July 31 gave the hikers and their Iranian lawyer hope that they would be released because it was held at the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and on the two-year anniversary of their arrest. The men’s lawyer was clearly disheartened by the verdict. “We have repeatedly called for the release of Shane Bauer and Joshua Fattal, who have now been held in Iran’s Evin prison for two years. Shane and Josh have been imprisoned too long, and it is time to reunite them with their families.” According to Iranian law, the men have only 20 days to file for appeal.
