LeBron James’ mother Gloria James has narrowly escaped jail time for her arrest last year for slapping a valet at the Foutainbleau Hotel in Miami. James’ lawyers helped Gloria James out of jail by drawing up an agreement with Miami prosecutors. The court will dismiss her public intoxication charge if she completes 20 hours of community service, stays away from the valet she attacked, and donates $1,000 to the Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund. The victim, Rockerfeller Sorel , agreed to the terms. Gloria did not attend the hearing. As we previously reported, Gloria was caught on video acting a drunken mess. In case you missed it, James had a confrontation with a parking valet and used the “N” word during the confrontation which ended with her slapping him. Brandy and Monica recently released a new track together, “It All Belongs to Me,” and the dynamic R&B duo are now in talks to tour together this summer. Atlanta native Monica talked to Connecticut radio station 93.7 where she stated: “We’re dedicated to a tour in the summer. Looking back at it, it was so silly and so juvenile that we’re dedicated to this song in a different way.” While nothing is set in stone, Monica says she and Brandy really hope everything works out: “We’re working on that now and trying to find different sponsors and people that will get us in the cities we feel like we should be in, so it’s not just as easy as saying it, but we’re actually putting forth the effort to try and make sure it happens.” Look for Monica’s album, New Life , when it hits stores April 10th. Brandy’s as-yet-untitled album will be released in May. Josh Fox, whose Oscar-nominated 2010 documentary Gasland investigated communities affected by natural gas drilling, was arrested today while attempting to film a public House hearing on hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” according to Politico (via Indiewire ). “This is a public hearing,” Fox said as he was being handcuffed. “I’m within my First Amendment rights, and I’m being taken out.” Fox is working on a sequel to Gasland , and the hearing was being held to explore the EPA’s investigation of fracking contamination in Wyoming . Fox was asked to leave by security and when he refused was charged with unlawful entry. The hearing proceeded, with subcommittee chairman Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) noting that filming and photography by noncredentialed press was not allowed by rule. (Watch Harris’ remarks, and the entire hearing, via pre-recorded webcast here .) “That’s why we have rules that control who is recording…” he added, “just so we clear the air on that.” Before he continued, Rep. Brad Miller (D-NC) motioned for an exception. “I think all those rules are to control access where there’s limited access, but it is very clear that we have space in this room for either of them to film this hearing. If you claim that that rule does not allow them to film, or more accurately allows you the discretion to turn them away, I move that the rules be suspended to the end so the fella who wanted to film for HBO be allowed to film this hearing and that ABC News be allowed to film this hearing and all God’s children be allowed to film this hearing until the room is too full to conduct our business.” Miller’s motion went to voting, with members voting 7-6 in favor of a motion to table his motion , and that was that – a riveting mini-drama in its own right. Damn, Jen doesn’t look that cute anymore: A high school science teacher has plead guilty to an improper relationship with a 16-year-old student in Texas Thursday a year after giving birth to a child. Jennifer Riojas, 27, a former Fort Worth teacher, took a six year plea deal including probation and the forfeit of her state teaching certificate though will not be labeled as a sex offender after prosecutors lessened her charges. According to the arrest affidavit, the student approached Fort Worth police in the fall of 2010 because of his worry he could be the father of her baby

After performing in Hollywood, Odd Future’s frontman Tyler, The Creator was arrested this morning (December 23rd). According to reports , he’s alleged to have trashed sound equipment.
