Las Vegas Review Journal reports: A Las Vegas police officer under investigation for a videotaped beating of a man has been suspended with pay pending completion of an internal investigation, police said Saturday. On the night of March 20, Crooks, 36, was standing in his driveway while videotaping police as they investigated a reported burglary across the street. When Crooks refused to stop filming, Colling allegedly attacked him — with much of the altercation recorded by the camera. Crooks’ attorney, David Otto, on Thursday sent police a statement from Crooks, along with a demand for $500,000 to cover Crooks’ medial care, pain and suffering. A planned lawsuit has not yet been filed.
Jabrai Jordan Copney was found guilty in the murder of Justin Cosby, which took place in a Harvard University dormitory. In a case previously reported in 2009, Copney shot and killed the 21-year-old Cosby, during the tragic crime that is believed to be a robbery gone wrong. In 2009, Copney, a New York City songwriter, pretended to be a Harvard student who wanted to buy drugs from Cosby. Copney and two other New York City men—Blayn Jiggetts and Jason Aquino—lured Cosby to the dorm basement with the help of Copney’s girlfriend, a senior student at the Ivey League institution. Whenever a major concert happens in New York City, there’s always some random (slightly unnecessary) on-stage reunion. Last night, at that Diddy Dirty Money “Coming Home” show at the Hammerstein Ballroom, that Reunion came courtesy of the house that Irv Gotti built. Ashanti tweeted this pic of herself with her “bra’s” Ja Rule and Young Lloyd following her and Ja’s surprise appearance. Man, these football wives are something else. NFL matrimony-dom isn’t all it’s cracked up to be for Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who is laid up in a hospital bed after getting into a spat with his wife. Brandon Marshall was stabbed in the stomach Friday night by his wife and the Dolphins wide receiver remained in intensive care in a Miami hospital after surgery Saturday morning. Michi-Nogami-Marshall, 26, was arrested Friday night on one charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. According to Broward County police records cited by the Orlando Sun-Sentinel, Nogami-Marshall told deputies she stabbed Marshall in self-defense. Nogami-Marshall is being held on a $7,500 bond. Sources told ESPN.com that Marshall was taken to Broward General Hospital and underwent surgery late Friday night for the stab wound. Doctors are saying no vital organs were pierced and that the Pro Bowler will be okay in two to three weeks. Marshall’s agent Kennard McGuire released the following statement: “This is a very difficult time for Brandon and his family, thankfully he will make a full recovery. We simply ask during this time we respect his privacy.” The Miami Herald is reporting that a high-end team source sent a text message saying Marshall is “stable” and the stabbing isn’t life threatening. The Herald also said the Dolphins are now fully aware of the situation. Marshall, who was acquired from the Denver Broncos last April, lead the Dolphins in receiving yards in 2010 with 1,014 despite only playing 14 games. A hamstring injury caused him to sit out two games. Marshall, who was involved in the fight at a Denver nightclub that ended with the shooting death of his teammate Darrent Williams on New Year’s Eve in 2006, has a history of off-field incidents. He has multiple arrests for disorderly conduct, drunken driving and domestic violence on his record. In 2008 he was suspended for three games by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, but the suspension was later reduced to just one game With Marshall’s history of getting slizzed and domestic abuse there may be a whole lot more to this story. According to TMZ reports : Dodson was popped in Alabama by Huntsville PD at around 2:30 AM. He was booked on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and released a short time after. According to the jail’s website, Dodson was hit with a few other misdemeanor charges — two for failing to appear on a traffic charge, one for failing to have insurance and one for speeding. Ride around ‘Bama gettin’ blazed and you will get busted … Now run and tell that homeboy!
Somebody please tell these boys they don’t all have to be Big Meech or Larry Hoover. Duke University football player Tyree Glover was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking cocaine. He was dismissed from the Duke football program Wednesday afternoon. Head coach David Cutcliffe announced the dismissal Wednesday “for conduct unbecoming of a member of the program,” in a news release by the school’s sports information staff. When contacted Wednesday, Cutcliffe said he had no further comment. The 6-foot-1, 255-pound sophomore linebacker from Crescent City, Fla., was being held in the Durham County jail Thursday in lieu of $750,000 bond. Glover was arrested by Durham police on Gregson Street and charged with trafficking in cocaine, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said Wednesday. Michael said police then obtained a search warrant and searched his dorm room on the Duke campus where they found marijuana. Michael said police confiscated 29.6 grams of powder cocaine and 72.4 grams of marijuana. Glover was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana and cocaine with the intent to sell and deliver. SMDH. Source
As we told you yesterday, some Canadian promoter set Game up to fail , by having him fly to Canada only to be detained for violating immigration laws. According to TMZ , the promoter may not have been as janky as we thought. Canadian immigrations on the other hand… A rep for Substance Entertainment Group — the promotion company behind Game’s tour in Canada — tells TMZ, the tour promoter got a call from Canadian Customs while Game was on the plane on his way to Canada. We’re told customs informed the promoter that Game would be denied entry “due to new information received that Game is affiliated with organized crime and is an active member of the Bloods street gang.” The rep claims Game was blindsided by the last-minute red flag — telling us, concert organizers had secured all permits and approval weeks ago to get Game into the country. “New information?” GTFOHWTBS. TMZ’s sources say Game’s been deported back to the States. But since he hasn’t gone back to Twitter yet, we’re gonna guess he’s still behind bars, on day two of that 14 day hold , eh?

This guy does. An Alabama man is in police custody and another hospitalized in serious condition after police say his eyes were gouged out with a spoon. Family members arrived home to find a bloodied 79-year-old Bonnie Pogue, and called 911. While paramedics were working on Pogue, and with police officers present, Timayo Knight, 30, made a startling statement. He said he had “plucked his uncle’s eyes out.” Knight was immediately arrested and charged with first-degree assault. A search of the home revealed a bloody spoon on the kitchen table and Pogue’s eyeballs in the trash, according to a statement issued by police. Pogue is in the intensive care unit at USA Medical Center in Mobile, AL, where he is listed in serious condition. What the hell??? Source
