According to TMZ reports : Former NFL running back Larry Johnson was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada this morning for domestic violence … TMZ has learned. According to Clark County Jail records, Johnson has been accused of strangling someone. It’s unclear who the alleged victim is. Johnson — who once signed a $45 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs — is being held until he can see a judge tomorrow morning. 32-year-old Johnson has been arrested 4 other times since 2003 — each time he was accused of assaulting a woman. In 2008, he was sued for allegedly spitting on a woman in a nightclub. He paid $100k to settle that case. In 2011, LJ was sued for allegedly beating up a man in Miami Beach. Attempted strangling? This ninja ain’t isht. And Julissa knows she’s better off without him. After being tweeted about her past love, the reality star had this to say: Welp. We’re glad Julissa has moved on. Correctional Officers Allow Inmates To Make Store Runs Outside Of The Prison Two officers are under investigation after allowing prisoners to make store runs for food and beer in American Samoa. via Yahoo News Two corrections officers at American Samoa’s only jail are suspected of letting inmates leave to go on beer and food runs. Officers Fiti Aina and Rocky Tua were charged this week with aiding the escape of a prisoner, permitting escape and public servant acceding to corruption. A police search at Territorial Correctional Facility in July turned up beer in an inmate’s cell. Police say that while trying to find out how it got there, they learned the officers were sending inmates unsupervised to a nearby store. One inmate allowed out is serving 40 months for assaulting another man with a machete. Court documents say an inmate told investigators he bought beer for another inmate and chips and cookies for Tua. Sounds like American Samoa is the place to be for prisoners. SMH. We’re still shocked by this video… and now Aida Guzman is finally speaking out after the incident. We showed you the footage of Aida being brutally assaulted by a police officer for no reason at a Puerto Rican Day parade and now police say they will launch a full investigation into the actions of the 19-year veteran cop. According to the Daily News… Mother-of-three Aida Guzman, 39, from Philadelphia, has a swollen and cut lip as well as injuries to her hands and arm after the violent assault from Highway Patrol Lt Jonathan D. Josey II, 40. Speaking at her Chester home yesterday, she said she was angry at the officer’s actions and insists she had done nothing wrong and that she was merely a participant in the parade. Translating for her mother, her daughter Keysha, 19, said her mom was hit from behind and while she was on the ground the officer said: ‘That’s what you get’. She then told him,’It wasn’t me.’ She said: ‘That’s what happened. I didn’t do it. He has no right to put his hands on me. I’m 39, I don’t play games like that. ‘I feel angry, very angry. I go to someplace, got a good time and look this happen, for no reason.’ Lt Josey – a 19-year police veteran who moonlights as an actor and comedian, according to the Philadelphia Daily News-is seen in the video punching Ms Guzman violently in the back of the head after someone else in the crowd throws silly string or water at the officers. In 2006, he nominated himself to be a ‘Daily News Sexy Single’, where he listed his most outstanding feature as his ‘charm and magnetic personality’. In March 2010, Josey was cleared in the fatal shooting of an armed robber at a 7-Eleven and was later cited for bravery. He was stabbed in June 2010 when he was trying to break up a fight at a bar when he was off duty. An internal affairs investigation was launched on Monday and Josey was placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the investigation. Deputy Police Commissioner Richard Ross said of the incident: ‘We’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge that the video is disturbing. ‘Clearly, the one issue at hand is she does appear to be walking away. She does not appear to be facing Lt Josey at that time.’ The 39-year-old was then arrested and was issued a summary citation for disorderly conduct, on which police reported she had thrown beer at them. Lil Scrappy-doo got caught yesterday and, while sources haven’t said much besides ‘parole violation’…we’re gonna go ahead and assume that homeboy was either crying right before he took his mugshot or he’d been hittin’ that mary jane. According to TMZ… …TMZ obtained photos of the 28-year-old rapper being taken into custody on the side of the road … where he was handcuffed. Scrappy — real name Darryl Kevin Richardson II — was booked at the DeKalb County Jail. According to his booking sheet, he was listed at 5’10″ and 185 lbs. We’ve learned … Scrappy is on probation stemming from a marijuana conviction in 2008. He was sentenced to 5 years probation for the weed bust … and was ordered to abstain from the use or possession of any alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. He was also ordered to complete an alcohol/drug education program and was ordered to perform 240 hours of community service. According to official records … at the time Scrappy was arrested for weed, he was also popped for carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction of officers and fighting. Accused of faking Stage 3 and 4 bladder cancer , Lori Stiller just got her lyin’ azz slapped with a theft by deception charge. The 40-Year-Old announced the sad news in February 2011 and friends and family immediately began delivering food, held fundraisers, and quickly set up funds and planned her wedding…SMH. They raised roughly $10k because she clamed she didn’t have insurance to cover her chemo and care. Apparently, it was all a lie. According to The Huffington Post… An investigation found that Stilley had never been treated for nor diagnosed with cancer, prosecutors said. Her sister says she was the one who turned in Stilley. “I just did it for her to get help and for my niece and nephew, too, to feel safe,” Lori Digiovanni told WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. DiGiovanni told the TV station that she became suspicious when Stilley’s story changed quickly. Soon after telling friends and family that she was making hospice plans and was given a month to live, she posted on Facebook that she felt a miracle coming and was feeling better. DiGiovanni said she believes her sister needs mental health counseling…Stilley’s lawyer, however, said she did not do anything wrong. Not sure what her lawyer’s spittin’…she sounds crazy to us! This is ironic: A state prosecutor has been charged after biting a man’s leg during a drunken fracas at an adult store, authorities said. Sarah Naughton, an assistant state’s attorney for four years, was facing charges of misdemeanor battery and criminal trespass after the attack on Saturday night. Naughton and a male companion both appeared to be intoxicated, according to police, and were asked to leave shortly after they entered Taboo Tabou in Chicago. However, 31-year-old Naughton became belligerent and bit a manager. According to authorities, her friend, Bradley Gould, shoved the worker and made ‘menacing gestures’. The store owner took the manager to a nearby hospital for treatment and he was later released. Police arrived and placed the lawyer in handcuffs. She began wailing loudly that she couldn’t feel her hands because they were ‘too tight’. She rocked backwards and forwards on the curb, crying hysterically and at one point, called the arresting female police officer: ‘A f****** b**** w****.’ Her behavior was captured on video by a passer-by. After being taken away in a police van, Naughton was charged and released on bond. Taboo Tabou owner Mark Thomas told ABC: ‘My staff asked, ”Have you folks been drinking? Maybe you should come back when you’re sober.”’ Mr Thomas then said that Miss Naughton became enraged and started to tell them what she did for a living, pulling out a badge and adding: ‘You can’t do this to me…I’m a state’s attorney.’ Cook County spokesman Andy Conklin said Naughton had been placed on administrative leave during the investigation. According to the Orlando Sentinel… A 48-year-old Volusia County minister faces decades in prison after a jury this week convicted him of raping a little girl nearly six years ago. Michael Charles Campbell of DeLand faces as much as 60 years in prison after his conviction Thursday on charges of sexual battery and engaging in sexual conduct with a minor 12 to 18 years of age, the State Attorney’s Office said. Campbell, a minister in Deland and West Palm Beach, lured the girl to a motel for sex by promising her help with her modeling career with a “skit,” prosecutors and police said. The former Daytona Beach funeral home worker attacked the girl when she was 12 and 13. In December 2006, he picked the girl up in a hearse with a body inside after telling her father he wanted her to do some work at the funeral home. They delivered a body to Daytona Beach International Airport and as they drove away, he told the girl that she might have to take her clothes off for the skit. The girl said he told her he “might have to take a look at you first” and pulled the hearse off the roadway. She said she exposed herself. Then they drove to a motel, where the girl said Campbell taught her how to put a condom on and kissed and fondled her. They spent several hours in the room and afterwards, Campbell gave her $44, the girl told police. In December 2007, the girl was taken to a motel for another “skit,” but that time she tried to resist, even though Campbell told her “it was how Brittany Spears and Beyonce got their start.” SMH…We’re not blaming anyone other than this disgusting waste of life but we wish parents out there would stop being so willing to let their young children go off alone with adults; even if they’re the head of the Church. Justice served? Thanks to a corrupt system and false testimonies , 37-year-old John Edward Smith has been in jail…serving 19 years of his TWO life term sentences for murder. What’s got us so angry about this case is the LAPD’s internal affairs department ignored polygraph tests and repeated reports made by the witness; admitting before and after the sentencing that he’d falsely accused Smith. According to the LA Times… “I had days when I was really frustrated, but I knew I couldn’t stop,” John Edward Smith said of his bid for release in a phone interview minutes after he walked out a free man. He said he was most dazed by the lights of downtown Los Angeles and Staples Center, and was looking forward to going home and hugging his grandmother. Smith said he was putting the details of his case out of his mind and focusing on the small steps to rebuild a life on the outside, like getting a driver’s license. During 19 years behind bars, Smith, a 37-year-old former gang member, adamantly maintained his innocence in the drive-by shooting, insisting that he was miles away at his grandmother’s house at the time of the crime. His claims went unheard until three years ago, when a fledgling wrongful convictions group, Innocence Matters, took his case and identified problems with the testimony of the lone witness to identify him as the killer. The man subsequently recanted and at a brief and raucous hearing Monday afternoon, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge vacated his conviction. Smith’s relatives and friends erupted in cheers as Judge Patricia Schnegg, the supervising criminal judge, said she was setting aside the 1995 verdict because Smith’s conviction rested almost entirely on perjured testimony….The judge’s ruling came after the district attorney’s office completed its own yearlong investigation and determined that the witness, a high school student injured in the shooting, had lied on the stand. That teenager, Landu Mvuemba, told Smith’s lawyers that LAPD detectives had pressured him into the identification and that he had tried on a number of occasions over the years to alert authorities about his false statements. Smith offered the jury an alibi: He was with a girlfriend and two others at his grandmother’s house nearly three miles away. But the jury believed Mvuemba, convicting Smith of murder and attempted murder after three hours of deliberations. He was given two life sentences. Smith’s family, including his grandmother Laura Neal, firmly believed in his innocence. At one point, his grandparents mortgaged their house to pay an appellate law firm $65,000. Mvuemba said he soon regretted it and reported his concerns to LAPD internal affairs twice. He even told the courtroom bailiff as he prepared to take the witness stand, he said. No one did anything, he said. He and Smith later took polygraph tests. Both passed. Outside the courthouse, Smith’s grandmother, a frail women who uses a walker, said she had willed herself to stay alive until he was free. “There was a part of me that was in there too,” she said of his prison stay. “I am free now.” It’s sad that one false testimony can have such a heavy impact on your life. We’d like to think the LAPD might feel some repercussion after ignoring Mvuemba and other members of Smith’s family for so many years…but we know what kind of world we live in. Images via KTLA
