Coon Hunting: MAGA Mascot Candace Owens Gets Fried By T.I. At REVOLT Summit

Read the original:

Source: Moses Robinson / Getty Candace Owens , one of the top shoe-shuffling boot shiners for the conservatives, found herself having to defend her beloved MAGA malarkey over the weekend at the REVOLT Summit. In a politics panel that featured a variety of perspectives, T.I. and Owens got into a heated disagreement of what makes America so great as it relates to anyone who doesn’t embrace President Donald Trump or his policies. The “Trap the Vote: Hip Hop & Politics” panel featured activist and co-president of the 2019 Women’s March Tamika Mallory, the aforementioned T.I. and Killer Mike, activist and former spokesperson for the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign Katrina Pierson, the aforementioned Owens, and Dream Defenders’ Steven Pargett. Veteran journalist Jeff Johnson oversaw the conversation as the moderator for the explosive and intense debate. A moment from the discussion that has since gone viral was the heated exchanged between T.I. and Owens, with Tip asking point-blank a question that has become something of a refrain. “When you say ‘Make America Great Again,’ which period are you talking about?” T.I. stated. “The period when women couldn’t vote? The period when we were hanging from trees? The crack era? Which period in America are you trying to make America like again?” The discussion sparked a chorus of boos from the crowd and the panelists began shouting over each other. Owens attempted to state her position that Black voters are pawns of the Democratic Party and that race isn’t a factor in the upcoming elections. To Owens credit, she didn’t back down in the face of dissent and she ended up having an unlikely ally onstage in Killer Mike, but only in the sense that Black America might be focused on the wrong things in this current political climate. It is impossible to capture the nuances of the discussion in full but to get right to the meat of the matter, view the full “Trap the Vote: Hip Hop & Politics” discussion below. Hop to the 37:00-minute mark to see T.I. roast Owens and continue watching to hear Killer Mike’s surprising counter at the 43:00-minute mark. — Photo: Getty

MODEL MONDAY: Lana Ogilvie Went From The First Black Covergirl To Skincare CEO

Source: Randy Brooke / (Photo by Randy Brooke/FilmMagic) Name: Lana Ogilvie IG: @lanaogilvie_official Agency: AnitaNorris Models/ Heffner Mgmnt/Abrams Artists/ModelCoOp Claim to Fame: The Canadian supermodel was the very first Black model to receive a COVER GIRL contract shattering a longstanding glass ceiling for Black models seeking work with commercial brands internationally. She has also appeared in Vogue , Elle, Bazaar, Marie Claire and Sports Illustrated . View this post on Instagram Winging it. Is it just me….. #ordomostpeoplehaveaplan #bellemagazine @ishiphoto @diana_carreiro @hudsonsbay A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Sep 4, 2019 at 8:25am PDT When any non-white model books a huge contract , panels are convened and headlines are printed. Everyone is delighted and (sadly) a little shocked that a giant corporation has decided to officially embrace someone who doesn’t fit the typical mold. But after all the meetings and memos that precede the press releases, the astonishment of the media is rarely shared by the model herself. “COVER GIRL was not a surprise for me,” said Ogilvie. “When COVERGIRL wanted to book me, my agent at the time, Michael Flutie from Company Management had the idea which he proposed to them, to put me under contract. To make it a bigger thing for not just me, but also for COVER GIRL and the industry in general.” View this post on Instagram Last Weekend for the beach #fbf with @si_swimsuit #siswimsuitissue #bikinibabe #swimsuitmodel A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Aug 30, 2019 at 12:05pm PDT Flutie’s suggestion came at the right time for an industry ready to inch forward towards a larger definition of what it meant to be beautiful. “They liked the idea obviously. And it really started that change within the beauty industry of signing different ethnicities to multiple year contacts, and forcing these huge companies to realize the buying power of ethnic consumers.” The moment and the subsequent media firestorm following the announcement were strong professional achievements for Ogilvie but they were still the result of someone else’s choices. “As a model, there is virtually nothing I can do to book or not book a job,” she explained. My line is specifically for mature skin.I love all of the products the same. They are my babies! But I love serums in particular and the Renew Serum is very light and not sticky like many serums. It penetrates the skin very quickly. I apply it morning and night after washing, all over my face, but not the eye area. When I started, retouching was done by hand on the photograph. On the actual print! There were no apps or digital retouching, so skin had to look good in real life.” After spending years backstage in the tragic nineties she’s learned a few things on her own before the chemistry lessons. “In the 90s, before the millecelair water and makeup wipes, a lot of models swore by using baby oil to remove eye makeup. I tried it once. It was so greasy and made me break out. Really a bad moment in skincare.” View this post on Instagram Rosy Tuesdays……@lovechicos A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Jul 9, 2019 at 4:02pm PDT Her experiences backstage, “definitely inspired me to create a line.” Those experiences are able to continue, thanks to the ripple effect from the changes in the industry Ogilvie and her contemporaries set the standard for. “The industry is more inclusive especially age wise. Which is great for me. When I started there was no market for women over 40. At 26 your were on the way out. So it’s wonderful to see that.” View this post on Instagram Monday Bling #nevertoomuch @sidneygarber Jewelry A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Jun 24, 2019 at 10:54am PDT She is even happy about the changes in the “plus-size market,” and the messages they send to women outside of the industry. “What I am also happy about are the guidelines now in place for healthy models. In the 90s models were too skinny and a really unhealthy body image was held in high regard. That was a low point, I think ,for beauty standards that the fashion industry imposed on women.” View this post on Instagram Getting ready for Canada Day @esteelaudercanada Shades of Canada #diversityiscanadian #lanaogilvie A post shared by Lana Ogilvie (@lanaogilvie_official) on Jun 27, 2019 at 11:28am PDT She has hopes that stronger changes will come where thee “Just not have any adjective in front of the word woman. “I would love to see beauty and fashion get to the point of thinking,’ We are going to book a beautiful woman for this job’, and not ‘We are going to book a beautiful Asian woman, or Black woman, or older woman’, etc.’ I’d love to see it just be a ‘woman’ – without the thought of anything else.” Unless it’s that woman’s glowing skin. Ashley Tisdale Ugly Check Bikini Edition of the Day

Ashley Tisdale is still ugly…. I used to do a feature when she was a High School Musical starlet that got a lot of hype, that would basically just call her ugly, I didn’t go so far as to highlight or put arrows to her ugliness, but I assume the 2 readers who read it understood what I was getting at when I laughed at her botched nose, or whatever. The inspiration behind my hatred wasn’t that I was an incel woman hating asshole, even though that is what the simple minded assumed….my inspiration was that she was nominated for an MTV award for being the hottest starlet on TV or something…and I was like “FAKE NEWS” and had to do my part to counter those lies… In my calling her not hot, I did give her credit for fitness, cuz you can’t just slam some girl for having an ugly face, when we’re more into her body anyway, the world needs balance…you know accept that she’s not hot, but still fuck her cuz she’s got a hot pussy or tits or whatever. She has since let herself go, this was years ago, and she must be 35 by now….but she has figured out angles and that upper stomach “AB” looking thing …while she shamelessly bikini selfies….and the fact that spellcheck doesn’t flag selfie as a word that shouldn’t exist is partially to blame for this… JOIN THE NEWSLETTER YOU ASSHOLES! Evelyn Lozada Urged To File Restraining Order Against ‘Basketball Wives’ Co-Star OG

Source: Michael Tullberg / Getty The drama is high with the cast of Basketball Wives , this after a taping of a reunion show went awry. Evelyn Lozada apparently has some beef with co-star Ogom “OG” Chijindu , prompting some close to her in advising her to take out a restraining order. The Blast reports : Sources tell The Blast, the reunion show for “Basketball Wives” was shot last week. We’re told production constructed two different sets on the stage. They wanted to avoid any confrontations and keep ladies apart who had issues. The main set was for Shaunie O’Neal, Evelyn, Malaysia Pargo, Jackie Christie, Kristen Scott and Feby Torres. The smaller set was for Tami Roman, Cece Gutierrez and Ogom “OG” Chijindu. We’re told Roman called out sick days before the taping. Sources on set tell The Blast, once OG arrived to set she “lost it”. Sources say she went off on production and cast members, upset she wasn’t seated at the main stage. OG allegedly told producers she refused to tape the reunion. She walked away from set and the reunion went along filming. We’re told she eventually came back and filmed the reunion, after seeing the show was going on without her. Following the reunion, OG began barraging Lozada with angry messages on social media. The posts about Lozada have been nonstop with some retweets mentioning violence. Fans of the show have sided with both ladies in this simmering feud, with some noting that Lozada has insulted Chijindu’s looks in the past, but that was countered with chatter that OG herself has engaged in similar comments alongside Tami Roman. The outlet adds that sources say OG has been a problem for cast members and even got into it with the host of the reunion taping. — Photo: Getty

Antonio Brown Reportedly Turned Down $2M Settlement Offer With Sexual Assault Accuser

Link:

Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty The sexual assault case of Antonio Brown could have easily been brushed under the rug if the player agreed to a $2 million settlement according to reports. Sources are saying that Brown’s refusal to settle the matter out of court after the deadline passed last week has led to the revelation of the explosive details . ESPN reports : Antonio Brown declined to sign a $2 million-plus agreement with Britney Taylor to settle a sexual assault allegation made by the wide receiver’s former trainer, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. Brown had a deadline last Sunday night to sign the settlement agreement before Taylor’s attorneys sought to file their civil lawsuit against him. After Brown didn’t sign off on the settlement, the suit was filed Tuesday. Settlement discussions began as early as April and included two mediations, one of which occurred in May, sources familiar with the talks told Darlington. Brown’s decision not to sign the settlement came around the same time that he agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots, which his agent revealed Sept. 7 and was formalized Monday. Taylor alleges that Brown assaulted her on two occasions in 2017 and 2018, but Brown’s legal team is standing firm that the relationship and acts between Brown and Taylor were of a consensual nature. — Photo:
