Josh Duggar: Headed Back to Court Following Latest Legal Defeat

There are numerous disadvantages to being born into the Duggar family: After all, having your every action dictated by either God or Jim Bob must get pretty old sometime around your teen years, But Duggar-dom has plenty of perks, as well. In case you unaware, the Duggars are rich — really, really rich. And it’s not just reality show money, either. The Duggar empire is a many-tentacled beast. Real estate agencies, car dealerships, local politics — if there’s a way to make money in the state of Arkansas, and the Walton family hasn’t already claimed it for themselves, you can bet the Duggars are taking full advantage. But like every other aspect of life in the Counting On clan, this diversity of business interests is not without its disadvantages. Take Josh Duggar, for example. He’ll never work on TV again, and he’s virtually unemployable following the revelation that he molested five young girls , so at least his father’s wheelings and dealings provide Josh with a way to feed his family. But life for the father of five has been a tangle of lawsuits and legal wranglings ever since he was fired from Counting On . Many of Josh’s legal issues stem from his feeling that he’s the “real” victim in his sex crimes. Josh has sued In Touch Weekly for breaking the story, local police for providing documents in accordance with the tabloid’s FOIA request, and just about everyone else who was in any way involved in news of his crimes going public. But these days, Josh also finds himself in court a lot in connection to his shady business dealings. According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Josh will soon be forced to stand trial in a lawsuit he’d been working to have dismissed. “The above-captioned cause is hereby set for a three-day jury trial beginning on April 27, 2020 at 8:45 a.m., in Room 208 of the Benton County Courthouse, Bentonville, Arkansas,” the document stated. Josh is being sued by a name Carl Echols for buying land from a third party. The only problem is, the land belonged to Echols and was not up for sale. Echols claims Josh knew this and proceeded with the deal anyway. In other words, Josh (allegedly) went full European settler and this poor fella’s property and basically planted a flag while dude wasn’t home. Yeah, you can’t do that — but it’s the sort of behavior that’s reportedly encouraged by the Duggar patriarch. Insiders say Jim Bob is hated by his neighbors , who believe he’s basically trying to take over the small town of Tontitown, Arkansas, as well as its nearest neighbor, Sprindgale. NBA Bans “Ninja-Style” Headbands Ahead Of Upcoming Season

However, those expecting the so-called “Ninja-style” headband accessory to gain traction will be disappointed to know that the league is banning the look ahead of the season. ESPN reports : Several players — including the Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler, the New Orleans Pelicans’ Jrue Holiday, the LA Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns and the Brooklyn Nets’ Jarrett Allen — regularly wore the headgear a season ago. The NBA never had a formal process to approve the headgear, and allowed players to wear it during the 2018-19 season because, spokesman Mike Bass told ESPN, “We didn’t want to cause a disruption by intervening midseason.” The NBA notified teams in May that the headbands wouldn’t be a part of this season’s approved uniforms. The NBA’s competition committee discussed the headwear as part of its meetings in Chicago on Monday. A source told ESPN that some members expressed concerns on safety, including the looseness of the headwear. The rapper finally dropped his highly anticipated debut album, announced a new tour, filmed a new judge-style television show for Netflix called Rhythm & Flow , and most recently, he welcomed a new baby girl into the world. Of course, these are all great things to have on your calendar, but one of those seems to have come at the wrong time for Chance: his upcoming North American tour. The Chicago native took to his Instagram page to make the announcement that his tour, which was scheduled to start in only a few days, was going to be postponed . This news comes directly following the announcement that his wife gave birth to their second child together. “I thought it over for the past week and I’ve decided to push back my tour. This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work. When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most” he explained  in his caption. Chance went on to explain that the new tour will kicks off at the top of next year, on January 15. He’s always leaned into dressing Black Hollywood, whether it was coming to the rescue of Leslie Jones who couldn’t find a designer to dress her on the red carpet, or stylishly shaping the curves (and even placing her on the runway) of Danielle Brooks . At the Orange Is The New Black season finale, many of the women were wearing designs by Siriano. While we praise diversity in fashion , we still have a long way to go. It shouldn’t be a headline that a designer is dressing a curvy or tall Black woman. However, his efforts, have helped to push diversity in the industry and call out designers who are still designing for the same, monolithic customer. Nevertheless, even allies can make mistakes. According to WWD , Sirano showed hairstylists a photo of Gigi Hadid in a braided style and dubbed the look the “Gigi Braid.” And while yes, Hadid may have worn this exact hairstyle, when I think of braids, I do not think of white women. There is nothing wrong with Gigi Hadid wearing a braided hairstyle; however, there is a huge problem in the industry (and media) with Blackness only being desired or adored when placed on white bodies. Braids have a long history going back to Africa. Specific braided styles represented class and even occasions while some braided styles were actually maps to freedom during the slave trade . An erasure of history. Erasure is a form of racism that has been embedded in American culture when it comes to Black people. To not even acknowledge the history of something is to say it doesn’t exist. He could have still called it the ‘Gigi Braid’; however, it should have had some historical context. With a platform as large as his, simply adding that braids are historically from Black culture and natural hairstyles have seen a resurgence on the runway and red carpet, would have educated a mass of people who probably aren’t looking for this information on their own. We’ve already been through this with Bo Derek and her braids. “Bo Derek Braids” are not a thing. Bo Derek is a woman who wore braids, but she did not start or create the braided style. The ‘Bo Derek Braids’ nomenclature occurred after the 1979 movie ‘ 10 ‘. If it seems like one is nit picking, fast forward to almost 40 years later to Kim Kardashian (who whether we like it or not, influences culture), called her braids ‘Bo Derek Braids.’ Mis-education is also a form of erasure. With the CFDA placing diversity as a major importance, it’s imperative to know that it goes beyond throwing more Black models on the runway . Fashion is fantasy so inspiration will be taken from a multitude of places; it’s important to correctly site where said inspiration is derived. I find it delusinal, even crazy when I see people call themselves the things they have decided they are, and not just guys who decided they are girls, but health and wellness gurus, or models, or whatever. I am old school and I like infrastructure and enterprise to create these things. I like casting calls, and cultivating a strategy, and sticking to that strategy with your team…it just seems more planned and thought out…so respect and enjoy actual models…over girls posing like assholes for themselves.. Source: Amy Graves / Getty Actor John Wesley Passes Away At Age 72 John Wesley, Vietnam War vet and actor on 90s sitcoms such as Fresh Prince and Martin , has passed away at age 70 according to the NYDailyNews . Wesley, a Louisiana native, reportedly died in Los Angeles after an extended bout with multiple myeloma as confirmed by his manager Gerry Pass. Wesley studied classical acting and earned a master degree in fine arts from the University of California in San Diego, he told Ron Brewington on “The Actor’s Choice.” He served in the army during the Vietnam War and garned his first credited role playing a cop in a 1963 episode of “My Three Sons.” The classically trained actor (master degree in fine arts from the University of California San Diego) played a character named “Dr. Hoover” in a hilariously CLASSIC episode of Fresh Prince that you can watch below. Wesley told Ron Brewington, host of “The Actor’s Choice”, that comedy had always been a tool he used to break down the barriers that he felt white powerbrokers put up against Black actors. “That’s been my tactic over the years,” he said. “This is a really tricky place where we’re at now. Because the guys who are the guys who guard the door are still mostly white males with power. And you’ve got to get on their good side to get these jobs.” It wasn’t just white folks who found Wesley entertaining, we did too and we are appreciative of the talent that he shared with us. ASAP Rocky’s First Lawyer In Sweden Shot In The Head

Henrick Olssen Lilja was wounded outside of an apartment complex where he reportedly lives. The victim called the authorities himself and was rushed to the hospital. Since the incident, police have brought numerous suspects in for questioning. Eyewitnesses say Lilja was attacked and wrestled to the ground by the assailant before he was shot twice. Police said in a statement, “The police have arrested several people for questioning. His medical condition is currently unknown. Lilja was assigned to ASAP Rocky’s case when it first caught worldwide attention due to Rocky’s alleged living conditions in jail while he was awaiting trial for an assault case. He was released from Swedish jail a little over three weeks after his arrest. The rapper was charged with assault for allegedly beating up a man who he said harassed him. After weeks of protest from fans and an intervention from Donald Trump , Rocky was returned to the US after being found guilty. He will not have to serve any additional jail time. Sabrina Peterson, using the Instagram account @TheGlamUniversity, shared details of the armed robbery that occurred over the weekend at an Atlanta gas station. “On God! Myself & @alexisskyy_ was robbed at gunpoint last night at the QT on Howell Mill. I know you probably just thought it was two girls & a nice car but it’s DEEPER THAN THAT! Let’s call it a mistake! The blessing is my son or her daughter wasn’t in the car because you would have taken our kids too,” Peterson wrote in the caption of the post. View this post on Instagram On God!
