Throngs of fashionistas packed the Kings Theater in Brooklyn Sunday night for the unveiling of the third installment of Pyer Moss’ “American, Also” collection, “Sister.” The brand, headed by creative director Kerby Jean-Raymond, turned the show into an almost spiritual experience: the evening began with a rousing speech telling guests to throw off the psychological shackles of slavery and oppression and declare themselves free. Source: Dominik Bindl / Getty Then a band, clad in all white, took the stage to accompany a full gospel choir, that sang everything from Donny Hathaway’s “Little Ghetto Boy,” to Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love” to Adina Howard’s “Freak Like Me” as the models hit the catwalk. Source: Fernanda Calfat / Getty The celebration of blackness was everywhere – and especially in the clothes. All of the models were black and brown and their outfits bore touches like Sankofa bird patterns, abstract prints of black life, and satin finishes and bell-bottom designs that were reminiscent of 1970s Blaxploitation movies. One standout was a billowing canary yellow satin gown with a deep v-neckline with cape-esque sleeves and an open back detail. Source: Fernanda Calfat / Getty Pyer Moss also collaborated on some of the looks with American designers including the black-owned Sean John and Richard Phillips. The fashion show brought out the likes of Karrueche Tran and Victor Cruz, Chris Bosh and his wife, Adrienne, Offset (in a lime green suit), Saweetie accompanied by an iced out Quavo, Terrence J and a white Du-Rag clad Jidenna. Singers Justine Skye and Normani Hamilton sat front row, while ASAP Ferg mugged for the cameras and a shirtless Slick Woods and Joey Badass shared a laugh. Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Putting hands on someone is wrong , and it goes both ways. Swae Lee ‘s ex-girlfriend was arrested after allegedly headbutting the Rae Sremmurd rapper. She hit him with the hands too, and she was put in cuffs. According to TM Z, Swae and his ex, Marliesia Ortiz, had an argument outside of crib near Los Angeles in early August and things got so heated she reported started throwing stuff at him. She eventually put hands on him, and headbutted him, before security got her out the paint. This is when the struggle rises, exponentially. According to the cops, it was Ortiz who called 911, claiming Swae sexually assaulted her. However, when the cops arrived, she changed her story, and even admitted to throwing items. Despite claiming Swae had strangled her, the cops decided to arrest Ortiz. These two might want to stay clear of each other. Just saying. View this post on Instagram Rapper #SwaeLee’s now ex girlfriend #MarliesiaOrtiz just shared a FaceTime call she had with him after she says he cheated. He basically tried to convince her she needed to just be a “down b*tch for him” and push through being treated like sh*t because she’s “going to be his wife one day.” He said all this while blasting #GucciMane and #ChanceTheRapper about their marriages. Put your F**kboi Free earmuffs on, you’re going to need them. Marliesia says she’s done for good this time…… A post shared by TheYBF (@theybf_daily) on Mar 22, 2019 at 1:38pm PDT
Commissioned by Ashley Stewart “Is your teacher famous like my teacher?” The question, posed by a particularly precarious elementary school student referred to Tiffany Flamer, an educator who outside of a few low stakes beauty shoots had overnight become the face of a national advertising campaign. Named Ms. Ashley Stewart in the brand’s annual Finding Ashley Stewart pageant Flammer has had her face plastered in store windows, magazines ads, and headline stories all over the internet but she appreciates its presence the most in her classroom. In an exclusive interview, the unlikely model talked to HelloBeautiful about her plans to expand her modeling career beyond her tenure and inspire others to be confident in the process. She went on to reveal that her lack of success in that competition alst prevented her from taking home her crown. “I didn’t make that, and I knew it was gonna be the same people that were judging that so I was like ‘They didn’t pick me before, why would they pick me now?” Commissioned by Ashley Stewart The deciding factor in her putting herself out there again was encouragement from her local store manager. An avid shopper with a reputation for having great personal style Flamer had become close with the person who often watch her twirl around the chain’s pink clad dressing rooms. “She said, ‘I think you should do it, just do it. I can wear that, because I look like that,” she said. She added that she wanted them to think, “That will look bomb on me.” Even with a huge campaign under her belt, a growing social media following and a clip of Loni Love yelping out her name on the internet, she has not been able to lock down a modeling agent, a task that is seemingly simpler for the young women in the shallower end of the plus-size pool. “I notice that a lot of the agencies who represent plus size models the models are on the smaller end,” she pointed out. “In the media they consider anything a size 10 and up, but their models are usually on the smaller end. They’re size 10 and size 12 they’re not your 14s and 16s and 18s,” she continued. “I definitely want to continue modeling, I am looking to sign and I’m hoping that will be a possibility for me, hopefully they can take me as I am.” If they don’t, we will. However, if you are working in a corporate setting, it can be hard to translate the runway to real way and rock your fashion while getting that coin. Rebecca Minkoff presented her Fall/Winter 2019 collection and it’s all about the modern working woman. Minkoff stated via press release, “As a female founder and entrepreneur, I am continuously inspired by the women around me and women in the workplace who represent strong examples of leadership, strength and grace. When creating this collection these inspiring women were top-of-mind – I wanted to highlight the modern working woman, her wardrobe, and her environment.” Source: KISS Nails / Courtesy of KISS Nails, Inc. She did so with power suits, get ready in the morning quickly dresses, and perfectly pleated skirts. Minkoff also partnered with Lead Manicurist for Kiss Products, Inc., Gina Edwards to create a series of nail looks inspired by the Fall/Winter 2019 collection. 90 Day Fiance alum Larissa Lima has admitted that marrying boyfriend Eric would be her dream come true . But for now, she's trying to work on her health — her mental and emotional well-being. Larissa recently revealed that she has been grappling with depression and anxiety for over a year. She's tried to resolve it herself, but nothing so far has worked. Now, she's prepared to seek real treatment — and you may be surprised at who's reportedly footing the bill. 1. Oh no, Larissa Last week, Larissa Lima posted and deleted a very heartfelt message about her mental and emotional health — and what she’s doing to remedy it. 2. She’s grappled with depression for over a year “I was devastated, emotionally exhausted, and my entire body ached from depression,” Larissa reveals, recalling the aftermath of her arrest in June 2018. 3. And THIS may explain some of her behavior “Sometimes, I was filmed while being on pain killers,” Larissa now admits. 4. She wasn’t especially functional Larissa describes: “I couldn’t move, do basic activities, or take care of myself.” 5. It sounds like Colt was a huge factor in her misery “You all know how my marriage started, ” Larissa says, referring to how Colt seduced her online but how life with him was nothing like she had expected and how his demeanor was suddenly much less charming — especially when cameras were not rolling. 6. She has more to say She continues, referring to her marriage: “and how it ended in the worst of ways.” Larissa and Colt’s marriage didn’t just end in divorce, but with a scary bloody fight. Larissa’s face was smeared in her own blood and her torso was covered with injuries, but Colt called the police first and she was the one arrested — yet again. View Slideshow
We are one week away from learning the identiy of the next Bachelor on ABC. The upcoming star of the 2020 season will be announced on the Bachelor in Paradise reunion special, which will air on September 17. But here’s the thing: We already know the identity of the next Bachelor on ABC. Thanks to a handful of The Bachelor spoilers , led by the ever-reliable Reality Steve, we can very safely announce that Peter Weber will be the man to walk across that stage in a few days. He’s best known for three things: Being perfectly nice and harmless. Having sex in a windmill four times in one night with Hannah Brown on The Bachelorette. Not being Mike Johnson. Indeed, everyone mostly likes Peter Weber. But almost everyone absolutely loves Mike Johnson. And that was before we found this photo of Johnson and a baby lamb… Immediately upon Brown giving Johnson the boot, fans started clamoring for him to take up the mantle of The Bachelor. He’s charming, he’s funny, he’s entertaining and, yes, he’s African-American. Diversity is a good thing, right? Now, however, we’ve come to find out that Johnson was never even contacted by ABC executives for the gig. NEVER! NOT ONCE! This is both crushing and also confounding. Every year, Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss claims that selecting each season’s leading man is a difficult choice and that the network has a number of options to consider… … and then every year The Bachelor just chooses the second or third-place finisher from the previous season of The Bachelorette — who is always white, of course. It’s easy to object and to take issue with this pattern, but the following fact is also an easy one for producers to point to: Ratings go up almost every single year. Prior to The Bachelor spoilers revealing that Weber will be the pick, Johnson told Entertainment Tonight that he totally understands why Peter might end up with the job. “I think Peter looks the part… when he gets a 5 o’clock shadow, he looks good too,” Johnson told this outlet, seemingly making a reference to Weber’s skin color and adding: “I think that Peter’s family is terrific. I’ve hung out with his brother, he’s awesome. “His mom, you know, he’s got a little Spanish flair. I think that Peter and his family are just great.” And in another veiled shot at Weber, Johnson continued: “He’d be a safe Bachelor, meaning that he won’t do anything crazy obnoxious. I think it’d be a good, safe, clean season if he were the Bachelor.” The only upside here, of course, is that Johnson is now free to pursue Demi Lovato . But we still would have preferred to have seen him leading the way this January. Ever diplomatic in chat with ET, Johnson concluded as follows: “I will say this — I do think the show has worked hard to increase diversity in its casting and is continuing to evolve. “And as it evolves, we’ll continue to see more diversity from the franchise.” View Slideshow: Peter Weber as The Bachelor: A Nation Reacts!
Source: Newspix / Getty Kevin Hart has a long road of recovery ahead of him. The actor and comedian is walking again after suffering sever back injuries in a car crash, but he is in excruciating pain. Reports TMZ : Sources connected to the comedian tell us that Kevin is, in fact, walking again — as Tiffany Haddish mentioned Friday at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS event in NYC — but he’s not nearly as “good” as she made it seem. We’re told he’s walking slowly and gingerly at this point. We’re also told KH’s starting physical therapy this weekend at the hospital he’s currently being treated at. That’s great considering he just underwent surgery days ago. While he may be taking steps in his road to full health, make no mistake … we’re told Kevin is in excruciating pain as he heals, but that he’s also maintaining a relatively positive mood. Hart reportedly suffered three spinal fractures as a result of a crash (he was the passenger) invovling his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Malibu Hill. Hart reportedly bought the car as a birthday gift to himself in July.

Researchers know to always screenshots. : Tweets and pics of the Crushers Club practice of cutting off the locs of Black youth. This group got thousands in NFL #InspireChange . pic.twitter.com/yKUisKF6vo — Resist Programming (@RzstProgramming) September 6, 2019 After securing a $200,000 donation from Roc Nation and being exposed for some shady practices, Crusher Club’s Sally Hazelgrove is apologizing for those photos of her cutting two young black men’s hair. She said the following in a statement: “Out of 500 youth going through our doors I cut two young men’s hair because they asked me to and we are a family structure and so I did it and didn’t really think about it after that. I tweeted about it without much thought. It’s hair. But I regret it now and I promise you I will not be doing that again if asked…. The hatred and accusations from this took me by surprise. The backlash has been hard to be honest.” Kobe, one of the teens pictured getting his locs chopped off, spoke out about all of the backlash and said it was his choice to get his hair cut. Message from Kobe pic.twitter.com/3CdH28pCUE — crushersclub (@crushersclub) September 6, 2019 But even with this clarification in mind, the public had more issues with Jay’s choice for charitable donation than just haircuts. Along with the photos of cutting locs, Crushers Club also received backlash for using the phrase “All Lives Matter” and asked President Donald Trump to help with gang violence in the city. Those tweets have since been deleted, but Hargrove said she wants to set the record straight about her previous comments. “I said that not to take away from Black Lives Matter, but to be inclusive of everyone. I never meant to belittle or disrespect anyone. I will be more sensitive of what I say moving forward. I truly have love for everyone of all races, religions and preferences, and hate does not live in me. I am so sorry for being insensitive. Despite the constant flow of backlash since Hov’s deal with the football organization went public, Roc Nation and the NFL have not addressed the controversy.
