What is the color of democracy? Would you believe brown? At least that’s what it looks like here at Movieline, where our inaugural Soily Awards for the worst in cinema roll on today with the distinguished Brown Note — the totally free, 100-percent reader-generated prizes now open to your vote. While certain other, more over-the-hill awards want to charge you as much as $40 for the “privilege” of voting for the cinematic fails of 2011, the Soilies not only charge nothing, but also solicit write-in votes for noteworthy crap not recognized by our esteemed Brown-Ribbon Panel. The polls are open immediately and and will remain so for a week, until March 21 at midnight EDT/ 9 p.m. PDT . The first-ever Soily winners will then be announced on March 23 . Take Our Poll The Brown Paycheck Achievement in Bad Acting A unisex award recognizing the most lopsided ratio of salary to quality. Take Our Poll The Shart Prize A film that seemed like it might be bad but turned out much, much more aromatically awful than anyone could have imagined. Take Our Poll The Shit-the-Bed Award Arguably the most prestigious Soily, this honor goes to the movie that, despite its pedigree and everything it had going for it on paper, nevertheless resulted in a massive failure to move the cultural needle or achieve anything remotely resembling entertainment. Weekend Receipts: Hop’s On Top Again, Your Highness Has A Schwaggy Sixth Place Debut

The Bunny reigned supreme again as Hop grabbed the top spot for a second weekend, but at the expense of Russell Brand’s other comedy, Arthur , which could only muster a distant second place finish. In fact, when final number come rolling in tomorrow, it may be beaten out by Hanna , which notched a very close third place, followed by inspirational stump film Soul Surfer . And poor Your Highness came in at 6th, proving perhaps that a little Danny McBride goes a long way. Your weekend receipts are here.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With 9 of the Most Fun Movie Drunks

For some of you, March 17 is just another work day but for the Irish (and the Irish at heart), it’s an excuse to wear head-to-toe green, blackout on cheap beer, and down enough Irish car bombs to either get you arrested for disorderly conduct or send you to the E.R. — just like the patron saint of Ireland would want. With quitting time here and a night of debauchery ahead, let’s remember nine film drunks would could liven up St. Patty’s.

Amanda Seyfried Accepts Her Anatomy Award on TMZ [VIDEO]

Mr. Skin got a virtual high-five from the crown price of paparazzi this weekend when Amanda Seyfried was asked about her Anatomy Awards nomination on TMZ! One minor quibble- Amanda netted her nominudtion for Best Lesbian Scene petting Julianne Moore ‘s pussycat in Chloe , not Best Nude Scene. That’s 4 boobs, not 2, for those of you that failed first grade math. But we here at Skin Central are not ones to bite the hand that feeds us, unless of course that hand belongs to the fetching Ms. Seyfried. We’ll play big bad wolf to her Red Riding Hood any day.
