Actress could serve 18 months in jail for failing to perform her court-ordered community service. By James Montgomery Lindsay Lohan arrives in court on Wednesday Photo: Robyn Beck/ Getty Images Lindsay Lohan may be headed back to jail following a “blistering” hearing Wednesday (October 19) in a Los Angeles courthouse where a judge revoked the troubled actress’ probation and had her led out of the proceedings in handcuffs. According to TMZ , Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled that Lohan had violated the conditions of her probation — stemming from a 2011 arrest on theft charges — and set a hearing for November 2, at which time Lohan could receive a sentence of up to a year and a half in jail. Lohan, dressed in a flowing white Fendi dress with matching scarf tied around her neck, was placed in handcuffs and exited the courtroom, where she was processed by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office. TMZ reports that she has already been bailed out. According to the conditions of her probation, Lohan was placed on house arrest and ordered to perform 480 hours of community service, which included working at a Los Angeles Women’s Center and the Los Angeles County morgue. She was also told to undergo psychological counseling and participate in a shoplifters alternative course. But according to Judge Sautner, Lohan failed to show up at the Women’s Center on at least nine different occasions, and she added that she doubted the actress was attending counseling once a week, as the court had ordered. Before she was taken away in handcuffs, Judge Sautner told Lohan that she must complete 16 hours of service at the morgue before appearing in court again November 2. Sautner said Lohan’s eviction from the Women’s Center for not showing up violated the terms of probation and she explained to the sometime actress’ lawyer, Shawn Holley, that the time spent at the Red Cross did not count toward her community service obligation. “No one has the power to change my sentence,” Sautner said. “Not the volunteer center and not probation. She is not getting credit for any time at the American Red Cross.” According to reports, Holley was unable to provide the judge with a count of how many hours Lohan had completed at the Women’s Center. “The way I look at it, Ms. Lohan has created an impossibility to perform the sentence that was given to her by her own actions,” Sautner told Lohan. “I certainly find that cause to revoke her probation.” And though she said Lohan could receive 18 months in jail, Sautner added that new laws and overcrowding would make such a lengthy sentence unlikely. Chris Marrs Piliero opens up to MTV News about working with non-actor Jason Trawick in new video. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Vanessa WhiteWolf Jason Trawick and Britney Spears in “Criminal” Photo: Jive Britney Spears certainly had everyone talking when she dropped her steamy “Criminal” video . Sure, fans were talking about the sex and gunplay, but they were also going bananas over the appearance of Brit’s real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick, who plays her criminally handsome beau in the clip. The idea to include Trawick in the video was all Britney’s, but director Chris Marrs Piliero wasn’t sure he was so into it. “When she first hit me up, she had a basic story in mind, and she actually always originally planned to have Jason, her boyfriend, play the role, and I wasn’t super stoked on that idea at first, actually,” he told MTV News. Most of his reservations were because Trawick isn’t a professional actor and he wasn’t sure his rookie acting skills would translate well in the mini-movie. “I wanted to make a really rad, epic video, and I definitely got the sense from her she wanted something really cool,” he explained. “And in my mind, I was just thinking then, ‘We really should not be using your boyfriend; we should get an actor.’ So, I mean, I didn’t say that, but in the back of my mind, I’m like, ‘I don’t like this idea at all.’ ” Trawick and his abs, however, managed to impress Piliero — and Britney loyalists everywhere. “At the end of the day, Jason killed it. That was one of those things I was really stoked [about], as much as I went into it like, ‘Wow, he’s not an actor. This is going to be interesting,’ but I really do like a challenge, and I really do like the idea that I’m a director and my job is to direct and get the performance. For me, it was a fun challenge to be like, ‘I’m gonna make sure that you are awesome,’ and he was.” Piliero also worked with Spears on her video for “I Wanna Go,” and he was once again dazzled by her sassy acting skills. “Of course, Britney was rad,” he said. “She does a good job at nailing and doing the little acting thing. She’s cool at it.” What did you think of the “Criminal” video? Share your reviews in the comments! Related Artists Britney Spears
‘We made an album we’re really proud of and now we get to watch it fly,’ Amy Lee tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Amy Lee of Evanescence Photo: MTV News On Wednesday (October 19), Evanescence officially completed their comeback when it was announced that their self-titled third album would top next week’s Billboard albums chart , with sales of more than 127,000 copies. It’s the band’s second-consecutive #1 debut: As any Ev fan surely knows, their last was five years ago, when The Open Door bowed atop the charts in 2006. And in the time since, they’ve shed members, gone on a hiatus and, as frontwoman Amy Lee told MTV News , very nearly called it quits entirely. So you can certainly understand why Lee and her bandmates are feeling so happy today. In an e-mail to MTV News, the singer decided to share a bit of that happiness with us and with Evanescence’s fanbase. “What can I say, we’re thrilled about it!” she wrote. “We made an album that we’re really proud of and now we get to watch it fly. We weren’t expecting this and we’re just so grateful to our fans.” It’s certainly been a long road back. After coming back together, Evanescence holed up with producer Nick Raskulinecz in Nashville and unveiled the fruits of that labor to MTV News in July. They then premiered the first single, “What You Want,” live on MTV in August and played a raucous release-day show in Los Angeles last week. They’ll play a run of U.S. and U.K. shows until early November, and, armed with a #1 album, they’re planning a full-blown Stateside tour in early January. Pretty Reckless singer tells MTV News, ‘Evanescence was one of the first shows I ever went to.’ By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker, with reporting by Matt Elias Taylor Momsen Photo: MTV News For Taylor Momsen , sharing the stage with Evanescence is “surreal.” “Evanescence was one of the first shows I ever went to,” the singer and former “Gossip Girl” actress told MTV News last week, right before her band, the Pretty Reckless , opened for Evanescence at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. “I’m a big fan of Evanescence, so it’s really exciting to be opening for them,” she told us. The accolades went both ways: Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee had nothing but nice things to say about the young rocker. “She’s got a great voice; she’s real sweet,” Lee said with a smile, laughing that being one of Momsen’s first concerts makes her feel “old, but very, very flattered.” The 18-year-old Momsen has been on tour since her band’s debut album, Light Me Up, was released last year. “We’ve been touring a lot overseas lately, so it’s definitely a lot of fun to be back in the States,” she told us. Describing her band’s performance style, Momsen revealed, “We never really have a set list. We kind of go up and play whatever and work it out onstage. It keeps it exciting that it’s different every night.” As far as writing material for a second album, she said, “We’re always writing. We’re just figuring out now how to write on the road, which is definitely a different type of process.” Have you seen the Pretty Reckless in concert? Let us know in the comments below! Picture released on Twitter shows Gaga posing on car while fire burns behind her. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga (file) Photo: Alo Ceballos/FilmMagic Lady Gaga is getting her Little Monsters amped up for the “Marry the Night” video . On Monday night, she tweeted out some teases about the New York-based clip. “Just wrapped my 5th music video, can’t wait to unfold all its secrets and share with you moments from my past I have yet to reveal,” she said on the site. “Put Born This Way back in the vessel, for rebirth, as I lay in mine. When too strong to divorce, then buckle up, MARRY THE NIGHT.” Gaga shot the video earlier this month in her hometown. She was spotted all over town filming scenes for the Born This Way single’s video , including at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island. “This is my favorite song on the album. Are you ready [producer] @FERNANDOGARIBAY?” she said. “This one is our baby.” In addition to getting philosophical about the clip, Gaga also shared the cover art for the single, the fifth off her chart-topping album. “Do you want the #MARRY THE NIGHT SINGLE COVER tonight?” the Mother Monster asked her dedicated legion of fans. “If monsters make MARRY THE NIGHT SINGLE COVER the number one trending topic I will release it tonight. Early. SORRY INTERSCOPE! I LOVE THEM!” After Twitter blocked all chances to get the trend going, Gaga defied the rules and released the art anyway. “Even better, you pissed [off] Twitter. Be prepared to Marry the Night at 8pm PST,” she said before dropping it with this message: “New York is Not Just a Tan that You’ll Never Lose.” In the picture , Gaga is dressed in leather, shaking her blond hair around. She’s posing on the wet hood of a car while a fire burns behind her. It looks to be a scene from the video. No word yet on when the clip will premiere. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber Photo: Mark Von Holden/ Getty Images Maybe you haven’t made your plans yet, but Justin Bieber knows exactly where he’ll be on New Year’s Eve: Times Square in New York. Bieber has been booked to play live on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012,” joining Lady Gaga on the 40th anniversary edition of the December 31 staple. The first video, for the song “Mistletoe,” will debut Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Bieber said he’s excited for fans to check out his mix of holiday standards and new songs. If I’m going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I’d just do a Christmas album.’ The fans get more music, and everyone’s happy.” The singer said he picked a mix of his favorite Christmas songs (“Silent Night,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”) and new tunes (“Mistletoe,” “Christmas Love”) to offer a little something for everyone. “I picked ‘Santa [Claus is] Coming to Town,’ because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas,” he said. “And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There’s a lot of new stuff on there.” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com. ‘If the streets callin’, I’m answering on the first ring,’ Future tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Steven Roberts Future Photo: MTV News Main Pick Headliner : Future Representing : Atlanta Mixtape : Streetz Calling Real Spit : These days the demand for Future is pretty high. Just when it seemed folks were getting caught up with his June tape True Story , the “Tony Montana” rapper hooked up with Gucci Mane to drop Free Bricks in July and then returned again in September with Streetz Calling . The rookie may be moving at an accelerated pace, but if you let Future tell it, he doesn’t have much of a choice. “The reason I named the mixtape Streetz Calling is because I had did so many mixtapes and I felt like everybody always say, ‘Future, when you gonna drop a new mixtape? You need to drop another one, you need to drop another one,’ ” he told Mixtape Daily. After building a buzz with his 2010 appearance on YC’s hit single “Racks” and a pair of tapes ( 1000 and Dirty Sprite ), Future now stands as one of rap’s top prospects. It’s a position that he fully embraces on the opening track of Streetz Calling . “Made Myself a Boss” is a self-assuring tale of the rapper’s come-up. The Sonny Digital-produced “Same Damn Time” is just as cocky, as it finds Future bragging on his multi-tasking abilities, while “If You Knew What It Took” is a little more heartfelt. “I’m standing in the middle of the rain, trying wash out this pain,” he sings of his problems on the track’s first verse. Gucci Mane lends some bars on “The Way It Go,” and Duct Tape Entertainment’s Trouble helps out on “E,” but for the most part Future holds his own. With his latest, the “Magic” MC is simply supplying the demand. “I felt like this mixtape, the streets callin’ me to do it,” he said. “If the streets callin’, I’m answering on the first ring.” Joints to Check For
