Wiz Khalifa’s Girlfriend Amber Rose Ready For Kids, Marriage

‘We’re definitely going to get married and have babies,’ Amber tells GlobalGrind of her rapper boyfriend. By Rob Markman Amber Rose Photo: Mike Marsland/ WireImage First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes … Wiz Khalifa pushing a black and yellow baby carriage? It may sound like a fairy tale, but Khalifa’s girlfriend Amber Rose told hip-pop site GlobalGrind that she was planning to get married and have kids with the rising rap star. “We’re definitely going to get married and have babies,” Rose said. “Not right now because we’re still busy and we still want to enjoy each other first. We want to go on vacation, travel and just enjoy each other’s company, but he’s definitely the one. We’re definitely going to lay it down and get it done.” Rose — who has been a tabloid fixture since dating Kanye West — told the site that her biological clock is ticking. “I want to be a mom really bad. I really want babies,” she said. “I’ll be 28 in October and my maternal instinct is ready.” See Amber Rose’s Wiz tattoo. The model, who went public with her relationship with the Rolling Papers MC earlier this year, said the general perception of her is all wrong and that she would rather not be in the limelight. “I’m really shy; I like to stay away from all that, like, celebrity stuff. I don’t go to clubs, I don’t go to Hollywood parties, I don’t drink like that. I’m a homebody, and I love to cook.” MTV News reached out to Wiz’s publicist to get the Taylor Gang general’s thoughts on Amber’s comments but hadn’t heard back as of press time. The couple appeared on “RapFix Live” in March, when Khalifa talked about his public romance . “I’m just me. That’s what it is,” Wiz told MTV News about taking his feelings for Rose public. “I’m completely comfortable about everything in my life. That’s what my career has been built off. Everybody gets that right away, so you don’t have to find anything about me. I’m not gonna hide it; I’m gonna embrace it and give people in the same situation something to look up to.” What do you think of Amber Rose’s plans to marry and have children with Wiz? Katy Perry Ties Michael Jackson Singles Record

‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ marks Perry’s fifth #1 single from Teenage Dream, equal only to MJ’s Bad achievement. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: C. Flanigan/ FilmMagic Back in June, Katy Perry was closing in on Michael Jackson ‘s record for the most #1 singles from the same album — and now she’s tied it up. Thanks to the feel-good party jam “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” Perry has the same number of #1 singles from Teenage Dream on the Hot 100 as the late King of Pop did from 1987’s Bad. Now, Perry is both the only woman with five #1 singles from the same album and also the only living artist with that record. So what singles got her there aside from “Last Friday Night”? Perry’s previous #1’s from Teenage Dream are “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework” and “E.T.” Jackson achieved this feat back in 1987 and 1988 with “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Man in the Mirror” and “Dirty Diana” from his Bad album. “What a way to wake up! SO proud to announce that the little-engine-that-could of a song ‘LAST FRIDAY NIGHT’ is officially #1 & made HISTORY!” the singer tweeted Wednesday (August 17). “&u know, I couldn’t have done it with out ya, really I owe u guys BIG… so take this moment to give yourself a high FIVE!!! #allbecauseofu.” Explore our “Katy Perry: By The Numbers” infographic: Perry broke another singles record earlier this month, having the first album from the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart to have five #1 singles. Perry’s Teenage Dream album is the first in the nearly 19-year history of the chart to accomplish that feat. “Last Friday Night” has proven to be another successful track for the star, and the party anthem recently got an assist from Missy Elliott on the remix . Perry’s Teenage Dream videos have also been cultural smashes. For the 2011 Video Music Awards , Perry racked up the most nominations with nine, including nods for Video of the Year and Best Female Video for “Firework”; Best Pop Video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”; and Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Special Effects for the Floria Sigismondi-directed “E.T.,” which features fellow nominee Kanye West. Her dreamy “Teenage Dream” clip even nabbed a nomination for Best Cinematography. What’s your favorite Teenage Dream single? Let us know in the comments below! The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Bow Wow Recalls Driving Test Woes On ‘When I Was 17’

The season premiere of ‘When I Was 17,’ also featuring Christopher Mintz-Passe and Colbie Caillat, airs Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. By Nuzhat Naoreen Bow Wow on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV At 17 years old, Bow Wow bought himself his first car — a Maserati — but that doesn’t mean he was able to drive it. On the season premiere of “When I Was 17” this Saturday at 11 a.m. ET, the hip-hop star recalls how his initial attempt at taking the driver’s license exam didn’t exactly go as planned. “When I was 17, it was time for me to step it up and walk in the DMV and go ahead and get my license,” Bow Wow says. “Walked in, sat at the computer, doing the test, doing the test. They start asking the feet: ‘How far do you have to stand behind the car?’ Now, this is killing my brain right now. The next thing you know, the computer tells me [to] go see the lady at the desk, and I’m thinking, ‘All right. I passed.’ ” Not quite. While Bow Wow, who at 17 already had a successful career with a couple of albums under his belt, felt confident he’d aced the exam, the results showed otherwise. “Went up there, was as arrogant as possible, like, ‘I’m ready. Where do I go take my picture at?’ ” he explains. “And the lady said, ‘No. You failed.’ I was like, ‘What?’ ” Bow Wow may have been surprised, but his mother was not. “I told him, ‘Bow, you have to study this driver’s book,’ ” his mother, Teresa, recalls. Of course, her son didn’t take the advice. “I was really hurt because that’s every 17-year-old’s dream is to get their license,” Bow Wow says. He didn’t give up, though. Bow Wow, who ended up purchasing the Maserati anyway after failing the test, tried again — and again. Find out how he finally managed to get behind the wheel on the season premiere of “When I Was 17.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Bow Wow, Christopher Mintz-Passe and Colbie Caillat — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas Photo: John Sciulli/ Getty Images Joe Jonas is getting ready for some guys’ nights out. He’s set to hit the road next month with Jay Sean for a co-headlining tour, EW.com reports. The 19-city tour will kick off September 6 in Boston before wrapping up on October 6 in New York. The duo will hit up a number of major cities as they make their way across the U.S., with stops planned in Los Angeles and Chicago. After he wraps up his tour with Jay, Jonas is set to hit the road with Britney Spears for the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour. Both guys have albums in the works. Joe drops Fast Life on October 11 and Jay will release Freeze Time in the near future. MTV News caught up with Jonas backstage during his recent gig with Spears in New Jersey at the Izod Center, and he teased what fans should expect to see on the European Femme Fatale tour. “I feel like it’s the right timing now and being able to go on the Europe tour now is going to be even more incredible. I’m looking forward to it,” he said, chalking up his album’s slightly delayed release to fateful timing. “I think it just winds up perfectly for this tour, more than anything,” he said. “What better way to get [the album] out there than the Britney Spears tour? And also just mixing and tweaking; I want to make the album perfect. I wanted to make it perfect for the fans who have waited for the album.” As for those Spears shows, he says he’s going big. “You’ve got to make it bigger ’cause the stage is bigger, that plus figuring out how the European tour’s going to be,” he said. “We’re probably going to add a couple songs here and there and try to mix it up and do something different. It’s perfect timing.” Related Artists Joe Jonas Jay Sean

Watch The Throne Tracks: Tastemakers Pick Their Faves

From ‘Otis’ to ‘New Day,’ experts weigh in on which Jay-Z and Kanye joint stands out from the rest. By Rob Markman Kanye West and Jay-Z Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage From upbeat dancefloor bangers to low-key concept songs, there is quite a bit of variety on Watch the Throne . On the day of its digital release last week, Kanye West and Jay-Z ‘s tag-team album saw a handful of its tracks become trending topics on Twitter. “No Church in the Wild,” “Gotta Have It” and “Who Gon Stop Me” all stood as fan favorites, at least initially, but it seems that no matter who you ask, everyone has a different favorite from WTT . “My favorite record off the album is ‘New Day,’ produced by the RZA,” said New York’s Power 105 morning-show host Charlamagne Tha God. “The record about Kanye and Jay rapping about their unborn sons, that’s ill to me.” Read what the critics thought of Watch the Throne . On “New Day” Kanye express his life’s regrets in a lyrical letter to his future son. Over RZA’s twinkling keys and somber soul sample ‘Ye raps, “And I’ll never let my son have an ego/ He’ll be nice to everyone wherever we go/ I mean, I might even make him be Republican/ So everybody knows he loves white people.” Jay takes a similar approach and spits a verse to his unborn, amid persistent rumors that he and wife Beyonc#233; are planning to have a child. AllHipHop CEO Chuck Creekmur puts the energetic “Who Gon Stop” at the top of his list. The track samples Flux Pavilion’s dub-step track “I Can’t Stop.” The chest-pounding album cut finds Hov and Yeezy putting their wealth on full display, despite facing insurmountable odds, with bars like, “Beat the odds, bet the feds/ It wouldn’t be wise to bet against the kid/ State me broke, I bet I get rich/ Night shift ’66.” See what radio DJs thought of WTT ‘s unconventional radio rollout. ” ‘Dudes in Paris’ is awesome,” Jeff Rosenthal, from the sketch comedy team It’s the Real, said, censoring the song’s real title, “N—as in Paris.” He is particularly impressed by the song’s instrumental which was constructed by Kanye and newcomer Hit-Boy. “The beat is insane, just everything about it.” What is your favorite Watch the Throne track? ‘Glee’: Five Reasons ‘3D Concert’ Sunk At The Box Office

We take a closer look at flick’s disappointing 11th-place debut. By Eric Ditzian Chris Colfer in “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie” Photo: 20th Century Fox All is not well with the crooning kids of New Directions. “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie” sunk at the multiplex this weekend, roping in just $5.7 million and landing in 11th place at the box office. So what happened? The film starred show faves Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer, notched an A-plus CinemaScore from moviegoers under 25, and was coming off a “Glee” season that averaged more than 10 million viewers . MTV News consulted with a few industry insiders about the movie’s opening and came up with five reasons to explain the box-office blunder: The Demo Successful 3-D concert films from Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber had one thing in common: a tween-centric audience. But as Jeff Bock, box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations, points out, that’s simply not the case with “Glee.” “True fans of the TV series aren’t just teens,” he said. “The majority of fans are adults, and they certainly aren’t the demographic that will run out to see a concert film, especially one that is in 3-D. Besides, Gleeks most likely went to see the live performances that the film is based on.” Bock argues that, for “Glee,” the more accurate comparison is not Bieber’s “Never Say Never” but “U2 3D.” That film, he said, is the only other 3-D concert doc not geared toward a younger audience. “Despite U2 being one of the most popular bands on earth, that film barely scratched $10 million,” he added. The Marketing “Glee” not only suffered from having a core audience unfriendly to 3-D concert docs, but its marketing campaign failed to attract new eyeballs. According to Brandon Gray of Box Office Mojo , “In its marketing, ‘Glee’ was strictly for the hard-core Gleeks, as it came off as redundant and self-congratulatory to more casual watchers who can see the television series for free. Despite the show’s hype, only around an estimated 500,000 tickets were sold for the movie.” Even Fox TV execs reportedly weren’t pleased with the marketing effort, with an unnamed source from that department telling Deadline , “I think it was a sh—y campaign that did not effectively communicate what the movie was or that the people who had seen it reviewed it positively. I think the feature company took a very laid-back approach, feeling their only job was to alert the core fans, and that’s not enough to fill seats.” “The Help” Even if the marketing campaign had been stronger, “Glee” still had to battle at the box office with “The Help,” Emma Stone’s segregation-era drama (which opened with $25.5 million). The concert film came out on the losing end. “It’s quite obvious that ‘The Help’ came along and scooped up the attention of a huge section of female moviegoers,” said Phil Contrino, editor of Boxoffice.com. “When you have a film that over-performs like ‘The Help,’ it causes a ripple effect, and ‘Glee’ felt the brunt of it.” The 3-D So there were problems with demographics, marketing and a crowded multiplex. But let’s not forget the public has become less receptive to 3-D in general, often choosing to go the cheaper 2-D route if the movie at hand doesn’t feel like a must-see-in-3-D event. As successful as “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” was, for example, a majority of audiences still opted for 2-D screenings over opening weekend. For “Glee,” the public had no such option. “Overall excitement was not too high, and the lack of a regular-priced 2-D option prompted cash-strapped teens to skip the film,” wrote Gitesh Pandya of Box Office Guru . The Overexposure Finally, “Glee” found itself not only fighting external competition, but itself. Perhaps there’s just a little too much “Glee” going on at the moment. “Kids can watch the real ‘Glee’ for free on Fox and faux ‘The Glee Project’ on Oxygen, so why spend their milk money on a movie ticket?” wrote Nikki Finke at Deadline . “And maybe ‘Glee’ is just over-exposed right now and not as cool as it was initially.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Mac Miller Rounds Out MTV Jams’ 2011 Fab 5

‘He’s a 19-year old rap phenomenon from Pittsburgh who enjoys life and enjoys making music,’ Mac Miller tells MTV News of himself. By Rob Markman Mac Miller Photo: Roger Kisby/Getty Images Who is Mac Miller ? Hip-hop’s next rising star has an answer for the uninitiated: “He’s a 19-year old rap phenomenon from Pittsburgh who enjoys life and enjoys making music every day and working very hard for everything he gets.” Well, all that hard work has paid off. Miller has been named one of MTV Jams’ 2011 Fab 5 artists. Conceived in 2005 on MTV Jams, the Fab 5 is a collection of the most outstanding new hip-hop artists of the year who have made a visible impact on the road to releasing their debut albums. Fab 5 alumni include Juelz Santana, Tony Yayo, Paul Wall, Young Jeezy, Kid Cudi and Drake. This year, MTV Jams, MTV News and Sucker Free will bring you 2011’s hottest new hip-hop upstarts, including Big Sean, Future, Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T. and now Mac Miller. The Pittsburgh MC toiled in the local underground, releasing mixtapes under the name Easy Mac until he signed with Rostrum Records and broke out with his 2010 tape K.I.D.S. (Kickin’ Incredibly Dope Sh–). “My grandpa started calling me Mac when I was born, so it stuck. It’s cool; my grandpa was a huge Mack Maine fan,” the rapper joked about his name change. K.I.D.S. was led by the Lord Finesse-sampling “Kool-Aid and Frozen Pizza,” which quickly became a fan favorite and helped grow Miller’s faithful following. “Kool-Aid” alone has since registered 13.2 million views on YouTube, and TreeJTV — the YouTube channel Mac uploads all his footage to — has more than 111 million total views. From there, Mac landed a spot on XXL magazine’s 2011 freshmen cover in April and dropped his K.I.D.S. follow-up Best Day Ever, which in turn led to a national tour. Mac is now putting the finishing touches on his independent debut album Blue Slide Park. “Blue Slide Park is a park in Pittsburgh we grew up at,” Miller told MTV News of the album’s title. “Being 2, going down slides, and then being 6, playing Little League and hanging out there, then being older coming back there to drink and smoke and party, running from the cops. And now going back there just to chill out and drink a beer.” Tune in to “RapFix Live” on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET to see a recap of all of MTV Jams’ 2011 Fab 5 inductees: Big Sean, Future, Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T. and Mac Miller.
