Britney Spears’ Leaked ‘Telephone’ Demo Confirmed By Producer Rodney Jerkins

‘It was an early demo stage of the version. It wasn’t even a mixed version,” Darkchild says on Ustream. By James Dinh Britney Spears Photo: MTV Over the weekend, music blogs all over the Internet went into a frenzy over a supposed Britney Spears version of Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” but many were unsure whether it was actually the singer on the track. Last night, the producer of the song, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, took to Ustream to clarify that while he had no part in leaking the track, it is indeed Ms. Spears. If Britney Spears Was In The ‘Telephone’ Video “As ya’ll know, it’s been an overwhelming day today. I want to say to all the people on Twitter, all Britney’s fans, all the Darkchild fans, I was caught off guard last night with this ‘Telephone’ leak of Britney,” he said. “I’ve been asked to leak the version, and I haven’t leaked the version, and then last night, there was a version leaked. I really don’t know who leaked the version. It was an early demo stage of the version. It wasn’t even a mixed version. I would never leak something without Britney’s approval, without Larry Rudolph, without Jive Records,” Darkchild continued. While the producer made sure he cleared the air about the leak, he also spilled a few details about a recent visit he had with Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph. “On Saturday evening, the night of the fight, Larry Rudolph, Britney Spears’ manager, came to my house to watch the fight and we had an incredible conversation about Britney Spears’ new album. And we talked about the direction of her album, he gave me some insight into the direction and he wants me to work on stuff for the album,” he said. The producer went on to reveal he couldn’t be any more focused on the pop singer, and he’s determined to “write an international smash for her new album.” And when it comes to delivering top-notch songs, Darkchild admitted that he’s studied the singer’s most recent albums in preparation to serve up something greater. “I think the fans deserve it, I think Britney deserves it and I can’t wait to get back into the studio with Britney. I’m about to go crazy on making something that’s so crazy. Since I’ve had conversation with Larry Rudolph, I’ve studied some stuff from her last album and the Blackout album, and that was great stuff, but I think I’m going to bring something a little bit greater. I’m gonna give it my all to deliver something that’s crazy, crazy amazing for Britney.” Related Videos Frame-By-Frame: ‘Telephone’ All The Buzz On Lady Gaga And Beyonce’s ‘Telephone’ Related Photos If Britney Spears Was In The ‘Telephone’ Video Related Artists Britney Spears Lady Gaga

Bret Michaels Is ‘Definitely Doing Better,’ Sister Says

Michelle Sychak says her brother is starting to walk and no longer has slurred speech. By Gil Kaufman Bret Michaels Photo: Michael N. Todaro/Getty Images Bret Michaels remains in the intensive care unit nearly two weeks after suffering a brain hemorrhage , but his sister said on Monday that he is making slow, steady progress. Speaking again to the “Todd n Tyler Radio Empire” radio show, Michelle Sychak said she spoke to her brother on Saturday and that Michaels was “definitely doing better — he was kind of getting up and starting to walk a bit … because they don’t want the blood to clot.” The other good news was that the Poison singer no longer has slurred speech, according to his sister, but that progress has come along with some other issues. “What’s happened is all that blood in his brain is starting to drain, and he’s starting to have a lot of back pain,” she said, noting that her brother is getting antsy about being in the hospital and is eager to leave. “I can hear it in his voice. I know he’s in a lot of pain. … I said, ‘Bret, considering what you’ve been through … things could be so much worse.’ ” Sychak said Michaels’ slurred speech might have partly been caused by the morphine doctors were giving him for pain. Despite optimistic reports from the Michaels camp that he could be up and back out on the road by the end of the month — which she said was a misunderstanding about the soonest he could possibly be back onstage — Sychak said she’s hopeful, but realistic about the challenges the 47-year-old rocker faces. “Obviously, if he’s up and moving, that’s great, but honestly it’s not going to surprise me if he’s still in the ICU on Friday,” she said. “I think (the doctors are) having a problem really getting the bleeding. … Even though they’ve sort of caught it, I think there are some issues with them really stopping and figuring out the source. That’s why [there’s] back pain.” The news came on the same day that doctors at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, were preparing for their first press conference on Michaels’ condition on Tuesday (May 4). Neurologists and neurosurgeons from the institute are scheduled to discuss the case at 12 p.m. PT, providing an update on Michaels’ condition, treatment and prognosis. Cam’ron Ready To Make A ‘Classic’ Mixtape With DJ Holiday

‘I could do a mixtape in three hours,’ Cam tells the DJ, in Mixtape Daily. By Steven Roberts DJ Holiday Photo: Aphiliates The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Cam’ron has been a busy man lately. Besides reconciling with Jim Jones and announcing the possible reunion of the Diplomats, he made a surprise appearance at Converse’s Band of Ballers tournament as both “assistant coach” and basketball player, helping the Jones Family squad secure their second consecutive title. Cam’s also preparing for the third release in his and DJ Drama’s mixtape series, Boss of all Bosses 2.5. MTV News caught up with Cam over the weekend at the Atlanta tourney, where we also spoke to DJ Holiday, and it seems everybody wants a piece of KFC. “Me and Cam need to do something … a Holiday Season or something. I know you know the brand,” the DJ said, referring to his popular mixtape series. “I could do a mixtape in three hours,” Cam challenged. “Let’s stop talking and do it.” “I can block out about four hours, and we knock out a Holiday Season and make a classic,” Holiday said. “I know you make mixtapes with everybody, but when you do one with the kid, it’s a little different experience.” The “killa season”-meets-“holiday season” collaboration was a no-brainer, said Cam, ready to cement plans. But first, Holiday said, he had some other projects in the works, including the upcoming release of Waka Flocka Flame’s latest mixtape, tentatively titled Flockaveli, which he described as crazy fighting music. And with Gucci Mane’s release from jail a little more than a week away, Holiday said he and Gucc would be preparing a follow-up mixtape: Writing’s on the Wall 2: The Appeal. “I just dropped that [Gucci Mane mixtape] Burrprint HD. It’s in stores right now. We did 20,000 first week; #1 on iTunes. At the end of the day, we finnin’ to make a movie,” Holiday said. Gucci “gets home in probably about 10 days, so you already know we taking over, 10 days. Writing’s on the Wall 2: The Appeal coming soon. I’m trying to win, man.” Should Cam collaborate with DJ Holiday or stay focused on a possible Diplomats album? Let us know in the comments! Diddy Visits Lil Wayne In Prison

Music mogul reportedly spent an hour talking with the incarcerated rapper. By Jayson Rodriguez Diddy (file) Photo: Ray Tamarra/ Getty Images Diddy paid a surprise visit to the incarcerated Lil Wayne on Wednesday, according to a source who spoke with the New York Daily News over the weekend. The music mogul made the trek to the Eric M. Taylor Center at Rikers Island and spent an hour talking with the fellow hip-hop star. According to the report, Diddy is on the list of approved visitors the Cash Money artist maintains. In March, MTV News examined the visitors policy at New York prisons. Inmates are permitted visitors weekly, from a number of different people, including lawyers, media and just about anyone who is willing to make the trip, which the corrections department suggests be made via public transportation. Diddy, reportedly, eschewed his normal chauffeur service in favor of the public shuttle to the center. An inquiry made by MTV News to a representative for Diddy, to confirm his visit, was unanswered as of press time. To keep inmates safe, a guard notifies the jailed residents about visitors, and they must agree to the visit if the person isn’t on the pre-approved list. Each week, inmates are permitted two visits, which can last up to an hour and occur any day of the week except Monday and Tuesday, when the facility is closed to all visits. On those days when visitors are welcomed, hours for visits range from 12:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Within those options lie scheduling blocks dictated by a sliding scale that is determined by the first letter of a prisoner’s last name and available on the Department of Corrections website. Visits by religious persons, media members or the rapper’s legal team do not count toward an inmate’s scheduled visits for the week. What do you think about Diddy visiting Lil Wayne in prison? Damon Dash Resurrects Roc-A-Fella To Start A ‘Positive Movement’

Re-launched label’s first release will be Curren$y’s Pilot Talk, in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Curren$y and Dame Dash Photo: MTV News Executive Decisions: Dame Dash When Damon Dash pulled a Roc-A-Fella chain out of his vault several months ago and presented it to Curren$y, it was just a celebration of their friendship. Now, the chain means much more. Dash is resurrecting Roc-A-Fella Records and plans to make Curren$y’s Pilot Talk the label’s first new release on June 15. “I think we just having fun, really,” said Dash, sitting in his office at DD172 next to Curren$y. “[Curren$y] inspired me to dust off the chains. We brought ’em out for kicks, just ’cause we could. Then we was like, ‘F— it, let’s put it out through Roc-A-Fella.’ It was really more something he wanted to do. Basically, ’cause we havin’ such a good time, and the opportunity’s there, we was like, ‘Why not?’ ” “What that means, what that shows me, is that dude thinks as highly of me as I do him,” Curren$y said about releasing an LP on the label Dash co-founded with Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke in the mid-1990s. “I know what’s behind that. We all know and the fans know what that represented at the height of it. The aesthetic of it.” Dash said he hadn’t been having “fun” in music since he, Jay and Biggs dissolved their partnership several years ago. But meeting and working with artists such as Curren$y and Jay Electronica who come through his DD172 facility brought the old feelings back. “The funny thing is, people don’t know that Roc-A-Fella wasn’t meant to sell records,” Dame said. “It was meant to show the respect and the honor amongst each other as friends. It was a friendship thing. That’s what people liked. It’s what made Roc-A-Fella appealing. It’s odd, because I f— with [Curren$y]. I kinda like him. When I met him, I wasn’t as familiar with his music. My nephews and Sean O’Connell put me up on him. I liked him as a friend. Then I start seeing he’s super nice with the rhymes, then I started seeing his influence. It’s similar to the way we felt back in those days. It’s working out.” The last album to come out on Roc-A-Fella was Jadakiss’ The Last Kiss in April 2009. The label had been under Jay-Z’s sole custody since the breakup of Hov, Biggs and Dash. “Def Jam or Universal bought the brand. I think the ‘beef’ [with us and Jay-Z] was that Jay made it clear he didn’t want me or Biggs to be a part of it. That’s really where it was at. Now that he doesn’t work for Def Jam anymore, he doesn’t have the right to use the name. So there’s no reason for us not to use it. It’s there, and it’s a brand that’s not being used. So I was like, ‘I’ll take it.’ It always meant something to me.” Dash said he and Curren$y are pushing a positive message about friendship and evolution. “It’s a way more positive movement,” he added about the label’s new incarnation. “It’s what I wanted Roc-A-Fella, what I thought it should be 10 years after I started it.” Dash said he secured the new deal through L.A. Reid and Def Jam, which will serve as a distributor for his records. After Curren$y’s album, the next project coming off Roc-A-Fella will be Ski Beatz’s 24 Hour Karate School mixtape. Reps for Jay-Z were not reached for comment by press time. What do you think about Dame Dash bringing Roc-A-Fella back? Let us know in the comments! Cam’ron, Jim Jones Reunite On The Court At Band Of Ballers Tournament

Cam’ron joins Jones’ basketball team for Diplomats reunion at Converse event on Saturday. By Steven Roberts Cam’ron and Jim Jones Photo: MTV News Jim Jones’ Jones Family team took home Converse Band of Ballers Tournament trophy for their second consecutive time on Saturday, but the day’s main talking point was Jones’ surprise teammate. Cam’ron’s arrival at Clark Atlanta University caused quite a stir, as fans and media swarmed the Harlem rapper. Cam barely had a chance to enjoy the Jones Family’s physical win against Shawty Lo and OJ Da Juiceman’s team, Southern Hospitality. “The Jones Family won by one point,” Cam told MTV News. “I thought I was on Rikers Island, watching the game just now. They’re fouling up everybody. Jim got out there for a while, wild bully. It was a good win for the Jones Family.” Cam eventually donned the Jones Family’s gold uniform and played in the championship game against Southern Hospitality. But all that basketball didn’t keep fans from wondering about the status of the Diplomats’ reunion . Cam and Jim have enjoyed modest success since they parted ways in 2007, but they were arguably at their peak when the Diplomats flooded the game for a better part of the past decade. Cam confirmed they have started working on new material. “We working, everything is working,” he said. “Right now, we’re doing a couple of songs. We’re trying to get the business together. Right now we’re just doing music.” They still have solo material to release too. Cam said the next installment of Boss of All Bosses with DJ Drama should be dropping Wednesday, and Jim said he was about to work on Coke Rush Pt. I with DJ Scream. Jones maintained that they are going to start working real heavy on their Diplomats project . “Me

Bret Michaels’ Doctor: ‘Bret’s Will To Live Is Undeniable’

Doctor says Michaels’ condition remains serious, tests will continue. By MTV News staff Bret Michaels Photo: Trish Tokar/ Getty Images According to a statement posted late Friday on Bret Michaels’ official website , the singer is receiving treatment for the brain hemmorhage he suffered last week at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona — one of the world’s top neurological centers and is the home of the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center. The statement said Michaels’ location was not previously revealed “due to the severity of his life threatening condition, the instantaneous way in which the hemorrhage presented itself and respect for his family.” Dr. Joseph Zabramski, the neurosurgeon who is leading Michaels’ treatment team, said in the statement, “There is no doubt that Mr. Michaels’ condition is serious. We are treating the subarachnoid hemorrhage, which caused his severe cranial pain. Mr. Michaels will continue to undergo testing considering we have hit a few roadblocks including hyponatremia, severe cranial and back pain suffered from blood drainage, an emergency appendectomy performed a week earlier and a lifelong history of Type 1 Diabetes. “However, Bret’s sheer will to live and fully recover is undeniable,” Zabramski continued. “He has an unbelievable fight in him and told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage was that he ‘did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor.’ It was a combination of Bret’s fight to stay conscious during the hemorrhage and get to the emergency room, and the immediate medical attention provided by our staff at Barrow that enabled us to stabilize his condition.” A press conference will be held at 12 p.m. local time Tuesday at Barrow to discuss Michaels’ treatment in prognosis in detail. Michaels’ sister Michelle told a Nebraska radio station on Wednesday that she’d spoken with her brother recently. “Things are definitely looking up,” she said. “He sounded good — as good as you can when your brain’s throbbing. He seems very coherent to me and like he knew what he was saying. … [He] does sound like Bret. Truth be told, I think he’ll outlive us all.” Related Videos The Poison And Bret Michaels Video Playlist Related Photos Bret Michaels’ Career In Photos Related Artists Bret Michaels
