Happy Birthday Boss! Top 10 Rick Ross Songs [ORIGINAL]

Read the rest here:

Today is Rick Ross ‘ 36th birthday, and it took him years to emerge out of Miami and become a nationally known rapper. But he’s cranked out some of the best hip-hop songs each year since his career exploded in 2006. Jay-Z upgraded Ricky Rozay’s career by signing him to Def Jam, and he’s become more respected with each album because of his consistency in delivering hits. Hip-hop is said to be a young man’s sport, and some thought a new rapper approaching the age of 30 wouldn’t have longevity, hits, or big record sales. But William Leonard Roberts II, a.k.a. Rick Ross, proved his doubters wrong. Rick Ross, DJ Khaled & More Bring In The New Year At Club Cameo Rozay may not be known for writing uplifting or socially conscious songs. But his flow, distinctive voice and beat selection come together and create music that’s perfect to ride out to in a Maybach, Aston Martin, or any whip. Rick Ross & Meek Mill Cover “No Church In The Wild” After releasing his debut album Port Of Miami , Rick has stayed on his grind by releasing four albums in under six years. In addition, he has released mixtapes, launched his successful Maybach Music Group record label, and has been featured on numerous songs. Ricky’s tireless work ethic got the best of him last October when he was struck with two seizures in one day. He is now taking better care of himself while growing his empire, which recently expanded into the restaurant business. Rick Ross isn’t talking about his latest solo album God Forgives I Don’t , and it may not be dropping as soon as we had hoped. Fast, Furious, And Free: Canadian Police Impound $2 Million In Luxury Cars For Racing But Drivers Won’t Be Charged

These kids were having WAY too much fun. This could be the plot for a movie, “Fast and Furious Canada,” or maybe “Fast and Furious, the Young and the Rich.” Police in British Columbia say they impounded $2 million worth of high-end vehicles this week after witnesses reported the 13 cars racing on a metro Vancouver highway at speeds of 125 mph (200 kph). The high-end race cars included a Ferrari, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, an Audi, an Aston Martin, Nissans and a Mercedes, according to a Royal Canadian Mounted Police press release. Two of the racers would run side-by-side to block other traffic going in their direction on the highway while the others cars would take off in a race, witnesses told the RCMP. “These drivers seemed to be looking for attention. Well, they definitely got the attention of police,” Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Lower Mainland District Regional Police Service, said in the press release. What the racers, who police said are all under age 21, won’t get is harsh punishment. “Each driver will be charged with Driving without Reasonable Consideration and receive a violation ticket with a specified penalty of $196. Additionally, these drivers will be responsible for all associated towing and storage charges,” according to the RCMP press release. The Police say they never actually caught the drivers so no additional charges can be brought. But the question that they never answered is, how the hell they impound the cars if the drivers were never caught? Source

Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood ‘Hustle Hard’ At BET Awards

Performance kicked off with Ross’ ‘Aston Martin Music.’ By Rob Markman Rick Ross and Lil Wayne perform at the 2011 BET Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Things started off slow when Rick Ross took the stage to perform at the 2011 BET Awards on Sunday (June 26) evening. Wearing a half-buttoned red silk shirt, Rozay emerged as his 2010 hit single “Aston Martin Music” blared from the speakers. Neither Drake nor R&B singer Chrisette Michele, who both sing on the song’s hook, were present onstage, and their absence was noticeable as Ross carried on without them, spitting his LL Cool J-inspired bars, “When I’m alone in my room, sometimes I stare at the wall,” with his usual gruff. The set began to pick up, however, when DJ Khaled stormed from backstage with his prot

Doble O Siete: Javier Bardem Offered Role In New James Bond Movie

Sister site Deadline is reporting that Academy Award-winner Javier Bardem has been offered a “starring role” in the new James Bond movie. Since Daniel Craig is still in the driver’s seat of the Aston Martin, chances are that Bardem may be the new baddie for as-yet-untitled movie to be directed by Sam Mendes. Here’s hoping that these rumors are true; much like comic book movies, Bond flicks often live or (let) die by their villains — you have a solid villain, you get Goldfinger . You have a so-so heavy, well, then you’re stuck with Octopussy . [ Deadline ]

My Chemical Romance Say ‘Na Na Na’ Saved The Band

Gerard Way says Danger Days’ first single ‘was the momentum we needed to dig deep and record another album.’ By James Montgomery My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way Photo: Warner Brothers On November 22, My Chemical Romance will return with their supercharged new album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys , and if they seem rather invigorated this time out — what with frontman Gerard Way’s radioactive-red dye job and their newfound affinity for Trans Ams and DayGlo leather jackets — well, they owe it all to one song: the hyperkinetic first single, “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na).” Because, as Way told BBC Radio’s Zane Lowe earlier this week, up until the moment they wrote the song, MCR were floundering, putting the finishing touches on an album (produced by Brendan O’Brien) that they weren’t happy with, and dealing with the departure of drummer Bob Bryar . But as soon as they had the breakneck chord progressions in place for “Na Na Na,” they knew everything had changed. “That’s the moment where we said, ‘This song changes everything. We’re starting over right now. We’re starting it over with [producer Rob] Cavallo, and we’re doing it now,’ ” Way said. “Everything up to that point had felt like we had been in this kind of stasis, and as artists, stasis really equals death. So, it was so bad, the vibe wasn’t good, and then ‘Na Na’ happened. And then, all of a sudden, there was this real, big intensity underneath us, and it was the momentum we needed to dig deep and record another album.” Recharged, the band met up with Cavallo (who did their 2006 album, The Black Parade ) and powered through. The end result was Danger Days, and though the album’s release is still more than two months away, Way says that “Na Na Na” is just a taste of what fans can expect on the album. There’s an energy to it, a spirit. It’s the song that saved the band, and he hopes the MCRmy will feel that power too. “To me, the power of the song is how it propelled all of us, and that’s kind of how we hoped it would propel everyone else,” Way said. “[The] spirit is … back, and it took a little while to figure out exactly who and what the band is and kind of re-embrace it, as opposed to turn our back on it.” What do you think of MCR’s new single, “Na Na Na”? Drake Says He’s Debating ‘Fancy’ Video Re-shoot

Drizzy tells MTV News he has a ‘way better idea’ for the clip, but may start fresh with ‘Show Me a Good Time.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Drake Photo: MTV News The last time Drake changed his mind about a music video at the last minute, his original idea for a sensitive clip for the ladies turned into the over-the-top “Best I Ever Had” visual directed by Kanye West . This time, however, the Toronto lyricist insists his next video will be great, regardless of his temporary indecisiveness. He’s debating whether to reshoot “Fancy” or commission a clip for his next single, “Show Me a Good Time.” “We shot ‘Fancy,’ and to be honest with you, it was done and I watched it and I just had a way better idea,” Drake told MTV News earlier this week. “And that’s why the video hasn’t come out yet. And to follow up ‘Find Your Love’ and ‘Miss Me,’ I really wanted to do something different, conceptually, and so I had this amazing idea and now I’m debating whether I should reshoot it or go straight to ‘Show Me a Good Time.’ But there should be a new Drake visual in the next little bit.” The Thank Me Later star said the “Fancy” clip was directed by Anthony Mandler (Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna), who also helmed “Over,” “Find Your Love” and “Miss Me” for Drake. According to Drake, the two are deciding what to do next, and the rapper is enthusiastic about the forthcoming production, regardless of which song they decide to shoot. “It’s something to look forward to,” he said. “I’m excited by it.” Next up, Drake will appear in Rick Ross’ “Aston Martin Music” video. Ross talked to MTV News about the clip earlier this month, saying the visual was “dope.” “We were just going over treatments for ‘Aston Martin Music,’ ” Ross said. “We’re going to shoot the dope version: Drake’s going to be rapping his verse and Chrisette [Michele will be there] and most definitely me. We’re just finalizing all the details. We should be shooting that hopefully next week, so look for that real soon.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Drake Related Artists Drake
