This pilot doesn’t play those games on HIS flight. Via Mashable : An American Airlines pilot, whose name has not been released, made headlines recently after he took down 25-year-old passenger, Michael Kerr. Kerr had been slurring his words, appeared to be intoxicated, and had just thrown a female flight attendant to the ground. The incident took place on July 21st, as the plane was making its way from Lexington, Kentucky, to Charlotte, North Carolina, although the video only went viral in the last 48 hours. After landing the plane, the pilot came out to speak with Kerr. When Kerr shoved the attendant and then threatened to break the pilot’s jaw, the pilot held him down for close to 20 minutes until police could arrive. Kerr has since been charged with assault, interfering with the duties of the flight crew, and public intoxication. He has been released on $25,000 bail and is waiting to stand trial. The flight attendant is currently receiving physical therapy for injuries incurred by the assault. What was this guy sipping on?? SMH. And we KNOW you peeped the racial disparity between the passenger and the flight attendant. We wonder how much that had to do with the way he was treating her… YouTube
Nice to see some equal opportunity pant-saggin’ prejudice. Billie Joe Armstrong’s Labor Day weekend is off to a rocky start after the Green Day frontman was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight Thursday for having pants that hung too low. Armstrong was traveling from Oakland, Calif., to Burbank, Calif., when the incident occurred. Cindy Qiu, an associate producer at ABC 7 in Oakland who was on the flight, told the news agency that when a flight attendant asked Armstrong to pull his pants up, he asked: “Don’t you have better things to do then worry about that?” When the attendant asked again, also threatening to have Armstrong removed from the flight, he retorted “I’m just trying to get to my f**king seat.” This isn’t the first time an incident like this has occurred. In June, a US Airways passenger was arrested after he refused to pull up his saggy pants. Prosecutors later said they would not file charges against him. Billie took to his Twitter (as celebs always do) to voice his displeasure with his Southwest experience. Southwest Airlines responded (via Twitter) Its messed up that Billie Joe got kicked off the plane, but we can’t help but feel a little better knowing that airlines aren’t just targeting “urban” youth with their “no sagging” policy. Especially after the last incident … Source
He didn’t piss in an aisle . And he didn’t allege racism . But Billie Joe Armstrong was still kicked off a flight this week – and you won’t believe why. According to the Green Day singer, he was tossed off a Southwest flight from Oakland to Burbank because his pants were loose. Armstrong Tweeted today: “Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the f(asterisk)(asterisk)(asterisk)? No joke!” A producer from ABC was actually on board the flight, according to Fox News, and says Armstrong replied by asking the attendant if there weren’t “better things to do than worry about that?” But the employee persisted, told the artist he could be taken off the plane if he did not comply… and that’s exactly what happened! Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins subsequently released a statement that confirmed an incident took place, but added Armstrong was permitted on the next flight to Burbank and told a customer relations agent that he had no other complaints. “As soon as we became aware of what had happened, we reached out to apologize for this Customer’s experience,” the statement read. “He elected to take the next flight. We followed up with this Customer and involved Employees to get more details and, in our latest conversations, understand from the Customer the situation was resolved to his satisfaction.”
