NYPD Tackles Former Tennis Champ James Blake On The Way To U.S. Open After Mistaking Him For Random Black Suspect

NYPD Tackles And Cuffs James Blake On The Way To The US Open Former tennis star James Blake was tackled to the ground and handcuffed by five white undercover cops on Wednesday afternoon while on his way to an appearance at the US Open in NYC . Blake was outside of his midtown hotel waiting for a car to transport him to the U.S. Open, where he was scheduled to make several corporate appearances on behalf of Time-Warner Cable. “It was definitely scary and definitely crazy,” he told The New York Post . He said that none of the officers immediately identified themselves as undercover cops, and he initially had no idea what was going on or why. “In my mind there’s probably a race factor involved , but no matter what there’s no reason for anybody to do that to anybody. You’d think they could say, ‘Hey, we want to talk to you. We are looking into something.’ I was just standing there. I wasn’t running. It’s not even close (to be okay). It’s blatantly unnecessary.” Blake said that he was distracted as the incident occurred, having just completed an interview for a tennis magazine in the middle of texting. He says as he looked up, he saw a man in shorts and a T-shirt charging toward him. “Maybe I’m naïve, but I just assumed it was someone I went to high school with or something who was running at me to give me a big hug, so I smiled at the guy.” The plainclothes officer — not wearing a badge — lifted Blake and slammed him down on the sidewalk, demanded that he roll over on his face and yelled, “Don’t say a word.” Blake responded, “I’m going to do whatever you say. I’m going to cooperate. But do you mind if I ask what this is all about?” Another officer joining the scene said, “We’ll tell you. You are in safe hands.” Eventually, five cops surrounded Blake as he was facedown on the pavement and handcuffed. He said he was soon told that he fit the description of a suspect in an identity theft probe, before officers eventually realized they had the wrong person. Blake says when the cops finally realized their mistake, they apologized. However, the officer who originally tackled and cuffed him never said a word. SMH! The NYPD just sees any and every Black man as a potential threat, huh?

Diddy Won’t Face Any Charges After Swinging Kettle Bell At UCLA Coach

Diddy Avoids Criminal Charges In UCLA Coach Assault Case Diddy will NOT face any felony or misdemeanor charges after catching fade with his son Justin’s college football coach. If recall, Diddy got pretty pissed back in July, after his son Justin was being repeatedly singled out and picked on by his team coach Sal Alosi, eventually getting sent home from practice for what Diddy saw as unjust reasons. When Diddy went back to campus chat with the Sal, words were exchanged, things got heated, and Diddy allegedly picked up a kettle bell laying nearby and swung it in Sal’s general direction to drive his point home. Sources close to the case tell TMZ that the L.A. City Attorney plans to hold an informal office hearing with Diddy and his lawyer, Mark Geragos, and other parties involved in the incident on October 15th. This could either result in a warning for Diddy or possibly a recommendation for anger management classes. Either way…far better than jail, right?

Chris Christie Lied About 9/11 Connection During GOP Debate: WATCH!

Last night's Republican primary debate was a lot like Atlantic City: there were lots of sad white people making bad decisions and losing to Donald Trump. Sure, Trump was his usual testy, bloviating self, and the man kicked off the night by betraying his own party and calling Rosie O'Donnell a “fat pig,” but if you looked only at today's media coverage and the public's response, you'd think the Donald absolutely crushed it. Yes, Trump thinks he won , and millions seem to agree, but there were nine other candidates on the dais with him last night, and several showed that they've got quite a bit of fight left in them. One of the most memorable moments came when Governor Chris Christie squared off with Senator Rand Paul over the question of national security (clip above). Paul is famously opposed to the NSA's collection of phone records, and Christie has gone so far as to say the laissez faire libertarian should be called before congress in the event of another terrorist attack. Christie went into full-blown attack mode against Paul, accusing him of “blowing hot air” and musing about constitutional law while guys like Christie are out in the trenches fighting terrorists. “I was appointed U.S. Attorney by President Bush on September 10th, 2001, and the world changed enormously the next day, and that happened in my state. This is not theoretical to me,” Christie said at one point. It was a powerful indictment of politicians who can afford to be cavalier because they've never experienced the tragedy of a terrorist attack firsthand. The only problem is that it's total BS. According to both Wikipedia and his own website, Christie didn't take office as US Attorney for the District of New Jersey until 2012. Naturally, the wounds of 9/11 were still fresh, and we have no doubt that Christie had a hand in dealing with the legal fallout, but claiming the attack took place on his first day in office is the sort of valor theft that cost Brian Williams his job. Several media outlets have pointed out that Christie wasn't even nominated for the post until December of 2001. You've gotta give the guy credit for thinking he could get away with such a colossal whopper on national TV (fill in joke about Christie and colossal Whoppers), and we'd rather hear him fabricate his past than listen to him lecture us about pulling out any day. That said, lying about 9/11 heroism would be the sort of thing that bring a campaign to an abrupt halt…if everyone wasn't too busy gawking at Donald Trump to notice.

#BlackLivesMatter: NY Special Prosecutor Launches Investigation Into Death Of Raynette Turner, 1 Of 5 Women To Recently Die In Jail Cell

New York Attorney General Investigating Suspicious Death Of Jailed Woman Much like #SandraBland , Raynette Turner’s family is desperately seeking answers to how an arrest over a petty crime ended with the loss of her life. Via Huff Po reports : New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Monday that his office will launch a formal investigation into the death of Raynette Turner, the mother of eight who died in a Mount Vernon, New York, jail cell while in police custody last week. “My office’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Unit will investigate the death of Raynette Turner, consistent with Executive Order No. 147 and a conforming order to be issued by the Governor at my request,” Schneiderman said in a statement. It’s the first such investigation since Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) last month issued an executive order appointing Schneiderman as special prosecutor in all cases where an unarmed civilian dies at the hands of police. Turner, 42, was arrested on Saturday, July 25 after allegedly shoplifting some crab legs from a grocery store. With no judges working on Sundays to arraign her in court on the misdemeanor charge, police officers opted to keep Turner in custody through the weekend. On Sunday night, the Mount Vernon Police Department told The Journal News, Turner said she was feeling ill and was taken to a hospital. Turner, who had a history of high blood pressure, was treated at the hospital and released. At the courthouse Monday, Turner reportedly vomited while awaiting her arraignment in an upstairs holding area. She was then taken back to a cell downstairs. Although courthouse officials are supposed to check on the holding cells every 15 minutes, The Journal News reported, no one saw Turner for another hour, when she was found dead in the cell around 2 p.m. A spokesman for the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office told The Huffington Post that Turner’s initial autopsy was inconclusive. The medical examiner’s office is awaiting results from toxicology tests. Turner was one of five black women to have died in jail during a two-week span in July. Among them was Sandra Bland, whose death in a Waller County, Texas, jail cell drew national attention and touched off demonstrations by the Black Lives Matter movement in Texas and across the country. As special prosecutor, Schneiderman’s investigation will determine whether there should be any criminal charges in Turner’s death. We hope that this investigation is not just a ruse and that they are able to find some real answers into what happened to Raynette. We want justice for all of the women who “died under mysterious circumstances in jail” in recent weeks. Family Photo/Twitter

BREAKING NEWS: Bobby Shmurda Indicted In Jailhouse Shank Case

Bobby Shmurda’s mugshot “Hot N***a” Rapper Pled Not Guilty To Perjury, Prison Contraband Charges; Faces Seven Years In Prison Troubled rapper Bobby Shmurda has been indicted on charges of possessing a jailhouse shiv— and then lying to the grand jury about it. But Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard, told Judge George Villegas that he didn’t do it during his arraignment July 23 in Bronx Criminal Court. “Not guilty,” the shacked Shmurda, surrounded by court officers, told the judge. Prosecutors believe he indeed had the homemade knife, and then had the gall to lie to the grand jury about it. If Shmurda is convicted of the top charges — felony perjury and promoting prison contraband in the first degree—he’ll face up to seven years in prison. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office did not offer Shmurda a plea deal on the charges. Shmurda, clad in an orange jail jumpsuit, looked downcast and almost on the verge of tears during the five minute arraignment. He frequently kept his head down, and bit his lip. Cops r earrested the Brooklyn man in New York’s Riker’s Island jail last month, after a corrections officer said he saw Shmurda’s gal pal, Kimberly Rousseau take a “sharp metal object” out of her bra and pass it to him during a jailhouse visit, according to the indictment. Rousseau, 18, pled not guilty to promoting prison contraband the day before. Bobby Shmurda’s girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau, 18, is accused of passing him a homemade knife in jail last month Despite his success with the song “Hot N***a,” Shmurda convinced the courts that he’s so broke that he can’t afford a lawyer. Lawyer Julia Mattson, from Legal Aid, is now representing him for free. Legal Aid is a charity that provides free legal services to low income New Yorkers. Mattson said she’d just been appointed Shmurda’s lawyer and his arraignment was his first time meeting him. She declined to comment. Shmurda has been locked up on an unrelated case since last December on gang conspiracy, weapons and drug charges. In that case, prosecutors allege he was the ringleader of the “GS9” gang that, in 2013, wreaked havoc across Brooklyn with shootings and drug sales. After his plea, the judge sent him back from the cells. Besides the media, the the only others in the courtroom were a hoard of college interns from the criminal courts and district attorney’s office, who packed one pew near the front to see the fallen rap star up close. Shmurda is due back in court in October. Bronx District Attorney’s Office

Is This The Face Of A Cold Blooded Killer?

12-Year-Old Charged In Shooting Death Of 31-Year-Old Man Killed In Drug Deal Gone Wrong It’s hard to believe this kid could kill anyone , but 12-year-old Jarrell Milton is believed to be involved in the death of one man and a murder attempt on another. According to People.com reports: Jarrell Milton, 12, had been on the run since last month and was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Jamymell Ray, 31, who was killed on June 29 in Omaha, Nebraska, according to WOWT 6 News. Another man, 30-year-old Charles Fisher, was injured in the shooting. Jarrell was found in Minneapolis, hundreds of miles away from where the crime took place, police said in a statement late Tuesday, the Omaha World-Herald reports . Authorities are expected to begin court proceedings to transport Jarrell back to Omaha on Wednesday. Jarrell’s 17-year-old brother Jamar and another boy, Shuntayvious Primes-Willis, 15, have already been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the shooting, NBC News reports. “I don’t recall ever seeing someone that young, charged with a crime that serious,” Omaha police spokesman Michael Pecha told the network. Prosecutors said they believe that the boys had promised to sell the two adult men marijuana. But when the men showed up to do the deal, the boys tried to rob them and ended up opening fire on the men, killing one and injuring the other. Prosecutors also suspect that the three boys have gang ties. “There isn’t any question in my mind,” Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told WOWT 6 News. “Our intentions are to file on them as adults,” he added. “There’s a question in regards to the 12-year-old under the new law, whether we can proceed in adult court, so we’ll get him into custody and then make that determination.” He’s shocked to be prosecuting such a young boy. “It’s incomprehensible. It’s unbelievable when you think of somebody who’s 12 years old, seventh grade or sixth grade, and being charged with murder for having a gun – approaching somebody and using that firearm with two other people that also had firearms,” Kleine said. “All of it’s even impossible to imagine that it’s even a possibility.” Damn this is crazy. Talk about innocence lost. Sounds like his older brother may have potentially lead him down this path of crime and destruction. Omaha Police
