Issa Wrap: R. Kelly’s Inner Circle Reportedly Handed Over 20 Sex Tapes That Led to Federal Charges

Source: Chicago Tribune / Getty R. Kelly’s Inner Circle Were The Ones Responsible For Him Reportedly Facing Federal Charges According to TMZ , R. Kelly investigators now have over 20 tapes of the singer having sex with minors in their possession, and it was his own inner circle who handed them over to the authorities. Gerald Griggs, the attorney who is representing the family of Jocelyn Savage, reportedly stated that the tapes show multiple victims of sexual abuse and that many of them were confirmed to be underage at the time of the filming. R. Kelly was arrested earlier this week on 13 counts of federal sex crimes, including four counts of producing and two counts of receiving child pornography. Kelly is also facing other counts for racketeering, violation of the Mann Act, and obstruction of justice. Kelly is also facing 11 other sex abuse charges in Cook County relating to his alleged abuse of Jerhonda Pace. It might be over with for R. Kelly.

Multicultural Media Correspondents Association Summit Explores The Importance Of Controlling Our Own Narratives

See the original post:

T here is so much power that lies in controlling your own narrative. However due to the lack of diversity within the media industry authentic stories about the Black experience are often excluded, misconstrued or disregarded leaving several individuals feeling unseen and unheard. The Multicultural Media Correspondents Association is on a mission to tackle the lack of racial representation when it comes to ownership and leadership in the media industry. The organization recently hosted a forum in Orlando that gathered influential Black leaders in the media space to share their experiences and develop strategies to evoke change. The summit—dubbed Taking Control of the Media Diversity Crisis—explored how the racial gap in media ownership directly impacts how the Black community is perceived by others and how African Americans see themselves. It also examined how the decline in platforms owned by people of color has changed the landscape of civic engagement and efforts to create political change. Amongst the individuals who participated in the summit were iOne Digital President Detavio Samuels and Lori Hall who serves as the Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing at TV One. Samuels and Hall were featured on a panel that explored diversity and inclusion practices in the media industry and how policymakers can play a role in holding major media companies accountable when it comes to taking corrective action. Other panels that took place during the summit examined the obstacles faced by media owners of color, controlling the narratives in the realm of advertising, and the importance of cultural competency in the media. Influential industry leaders who were apart of these discussions included Erika Alexander , Co-Founder of Color Farm Media, Tanya Grieg Perara , EVP, Comcast NBC Universal, L. Londell McMillan , Attorney and Owner of The Source Magazine, Tirrell D. Whittley , CEO, Liquid Soul and others. It was hosted by Congresswoman Val Demings . “The need for greater media diversity is a national priority. MMCA is committed to moving the needle on media diversity and to be a trusted bridge that brings together policy makers and the media advocacy community to make an impact,” said David Morgan , Founder and President of the MMCA, in a statement. “As an advocate for and a resource to journalists, creatives and other media stakeholders of color, we are excited by the growing support for the MMCA.” Forums like the one led by MMCA are needed. There still are wide racial gaps in film, television, print, and digital ownership. Research shows that less than 1 percent of commercial TV stations are Black-owned. Attorney For White Man Who Killed Elijah El-Amin Over Rap Music Argues ‘This Is A Disabled Person’

Read this article:

E lijah Al-Amin was a 17-year-old who was fatally stabbed by 27-year-old Michael Paul Adams. The child was killed all because he was listening to hip hop music. Now, the attorney for Adams is using the excuse that he was “disabled.” See Also: Outrageous! Figurines Of White Cherub Crushing Head Of Black Angel Removed From Dollar Store His attorney Jacie Cotterell told Good Evening Arizona , “This is a disabled person and he’s been released into the world and left to fend for himself, two days later — this is where we are.” She claims the department of corrections failed “Elijah with no resources or psychiatric help even though he had a past of severe mental illness.” However, being disabled or mentally ill does not make you a white supremacist. Court records say that Adams admitted he killed the 17-year-old because rap music made him feel “unsafe” and he was being “proactive, not reactive” but killing the chid. He believed rap was a threat to himself and his community. On Thursday, July 4, Al-Amin got off work from Subway around 11:30 p.m. and visited his girlfriend. While at a a gas station in Peoria, Arizona, he was stabbed by Adams around 1:45 a.m. He was about to turn 18 in less than two weeks Elijah’s father told KVOU, “2 o’clock came, 3 o’clock came, 4 o’clock came, I kept calling, calling,  calling, texting, texting, texting, and I wasn’t getting a response. I just had a feeling that something wasn’t right.” He continued, “ You took a helluva kid… He was a good kid, very good kid, always willing to help kids, help people in general.” Michael Adams was booked on a first-degree murder charge. Watch his father below: The mentally ill excuse for white people who kill Black people is an ongoing theme. In July of 2018, 18-year-old Nia Wilson was killed by James Cowell. Shortly after the tragedy, his family released a statement with the  “mentally ill” excuse. The statement read in part, “John has been suffering from mental illness most of his life. He has been in & out of Jail & has not had the proper treatment.” As of April , Cowell’s criminal case has been suspended to evaluate his mental competency. We hope Elijah Al-Amin gets justice. Jay Smith Sends Fans a Message: Will He Run to Avoid Deportation?

Sunday night’s 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? showed Ashley calling 911 on Jay and kicking him out of the house. Even so, they eventually reconciled and were together for another three months … before Jay’s cheating caused yet another breakup. Now, Jay is facing imminent deportation, and is spending his remaining time in the US … getting a tattoo. On his face. Jay Smith went live on Instagram (which he has set to private at the moment, probably to avoid backlash after Sunday night’s episode). He showed himself receiving a facial tattoo on the right side of his face, near and above his eye, by his temple. While the end result of the tattoo remains unclear, it appears to be a silhouette of Jamaica, his home country. Jay is a tattoo artist and his passionate about tattoos. But fans are a little surprised. Is he trying to send a message before he gets deported? Viewers who only keep up with what’s airing on TV have already seen Ashley kick Jay out of the house and call the police on him. Ashley did file for divorce on January 11 of 2019, which was after he cheated on her by boning some girl in the barbershop bathroom. But just days later, Ashley had a health crisis — she was found unresponsive at home and rushed to the hospital. Ashley had experienced kidney failure, believed to be a symptom of her lupus. Jay rushed to be by her side. Just 11 days after filing for divorce, Ashley withdrew her papers. Things were good … until Ashley and Jay split up in April. She accuses him of cheating and more. Ashley has already spoken on Instagram about the consequences that Jay is facing. “He will be deported on Aug. 7,” Ashley announced recently. “Unless he runs,” she predicted. “Which is what I’m assuming he’s probably [planning].” Yikes. “The thing that’s really frustrating,” Ashley expressed. “Is he’s here illegally now. …” Jay and Ashley did get married, so some are saying that it may be Ashley’s fault for not filing the right papers on her husband. “I did file for his adjustment of status,” Ashley clarified. “And then two weeks later,” she recalled. “He screwed up again.” “So,” Ashley added. “I withdrew it.” She didn’t want to be held legally and financially responsible for a guy who used her so that he could some lay pipe in the US. “ICE has already been here to arrest him,” Ashley revealed. “They know where he works.” “I mean obviously, if they come to my house at this point, I’m gonna tell them where he’s at,” she warns. It’s easy to confuse any discussion of immigration or deportation with the nightmarish child concentration camps along the US border. However, Ashley is referring to a legal deportation, not asking the US government to commit additional crimes against humanity. “So,” Ashley said. “I’m not sure why he’s still sticking around.” She then added: “because we got a letter three weeks ago saying he has an active warrant for his arrest.” “It’s not ‘if.’ He ‘is’ going to get deported,” Ashley told her followers. “And he knows he is.” “And he even called me,” she claims. “He went to the attorney, and he said like, ‘I’m f–ked.’” “Like he even offered money,” Ashley accuses. “Like, ‘Can I pay you to withdraw the divorce?’” We’re not sure where Jay would expect to get enough money to make that offer tempting to Ashley, who appears to be doing well for herself. While elements of Ashley’s reaction to Jay have rubbed people the wrong way, few if any 90 Day Fiance viewers are Team Jay. The ones who are are, well, mostly just horny for him. In the mean time, if Jay is really planning on going into hiding to avoid deportation, we’re not sure how long that will last. The dude has a tattoo of another country on his face . Amanda Bynes SUED by Mental Health Facility!

Earlier this year, the world learned that Amanda Bynes was back in rehab . It was her very brave choice after suffering a relapse. After the extreme drug use of her past, she’s taking all of the necessary steps to maintain her health. Unfortunately, she is now being sued … by one of the mental health facilities at which she stayed. Why?! Us Weekly  reports that Creative Care Treatment Center is suing Amanda Bynes. “Our monthly residential treatment rate is $37,000,” CCTC claims in court documents obtained by the tabloid. “divided by 30 days is $1,233.33 per day.” ‘Daily rate times 2 and rounded up is $2,467.” The documents explain that Amanda “was a client” at their “dual diagnosis residential treatment center.” Amanda’s brief stint at Creative Care Treatment Center came early this year. This was before reports came out that she had checked herself into a rehab facility. The decision, reached in January, was not reached lightly. Instead, the former  The Amanda Show  star checked herself into rehab because of mounting pressure. Her return to public consciousness and conversation had been just a little too much. Amanda needed rehab after “a setback which was the result of feeling pressure of being back in the spotlight.” She returned to fame took place “after her [November 2018]  Paper  magazine cover.” Amanda had spoken courageously about her battle with mental illness. Fans were overjoyed to see how well she was doing. Even so, she needed rehabilitation “with the assistance of mental health counselors and addiction specialists.” Months later, her attorney, Tamar Arminak, explained to Access what had gone down. “This time around she realized herself after the recent  Paper  magazine interview and spread that she really wasn’t feeling like herself,” Arminak explained. Apparently this happened “all of [the] sudden and that she wanted to address that.” “She wanted to address it right away,” Arminak revealed. “Before going back into show business and exploring show business again.” “It was her decision and her choice to address the situation, seek treatment,” he emphasized. This was a decision “which I think is an incredibly mature way of handling this type of thing.” “Right now, her day-to-day is really just focusing on her well-being,” Arminak shared. “She’s exercising, [doing] yoga,” he revealed. “She’s really focusing in on herself, which is very, very important.” “I know that she will be sure this time around to focus on herself and get better before she leaves the treatment center,” Arminak predicted. He added: “Or wherever she’s seeking help currently.” That is very comforting to hear. Fortunately, we do not expect that this lawsuit will send her spiraling. Unlike show business, it is probably not a huge trigger for her addiction issues. And while Amanda has been out of the limelight for years, she still has an estimated net worth of several million dollars. No one likes being slammed by a bill for over $2,000, especially in such a public way. But hopefully she can easily afford it and put it behind her. Withered Wafer & Wrongful Indicter Linda Fairstein Is STILL Defending Her Central Park 5 Actions, Calling ‘When They See Us’ A “Fabrication”

Source: Patrick McMullan / Getty Linda Fairtein Calls Netflix’s ‘When They See Us’ An “Outright Fabrication” The main woman responsible for incarcerating five innocent teens is, of course, still defending her atrocious actions. In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal , former Manhattan District Attorney’s office prosecutor Linda Fairstein slammed When They See Us , the Netflix mini-series based on the Central Park Five case. Fairstein argues that the four-part series omits crucial details, including a “riot” involving more than 30 people that allegedly went down on April 19, 1989 — the same date of the attack on the Central Park jogger Trisha Meili.  Fairstein claims that reporters and Ava DuVernay have only focused on the five accused teens and the one victim in the jogger attack, not the riot. Not sh**. The movie is about the CENTRAL PARK FIVE and the JOGGER CASE. Anywaaays, Fairstein went on to say that the movie missed “the larger picture of that terrible night: a riot in the dark that resulted in the apprehension of more than 15 teenagers who set upon multiple victims.”  She continued that on that night “eight others were attacked, including two men who were beaten so savagely that they required hospitalization for head injuries.” She then argues that there’s compelling evidence that the Central Park five were involved in the “riot.” Again, what’s that got to do with the jogger case????????? The one in which Matias Reyes was proven to be Meili’s attacker thanks to a confession and DNA evidence. But Fairstein kept on about the OTHER alleged attacks that happened that night: “The other charges, for crimes against other victims, should not have been vacated. Nothing Mr. Reyes said exonerated these five of those attacks. And there was certainly more than enough evidence to support those convictions of first-degree assault, robbery, riot and other charges,” Fairstein writes. Fairstein also denies the portrayal of the five teens being held without food or deprived of their parents’ company during questioning: “If that had been true, surely they would have brought those issues up and prevailed in pretrial hearings on the voluntariness of their statements, as well as in their lawsuit against the city. They didn’t, because it never happened,” Fairstein writes. Fairstein also says that DuVernay portrays her as an “prosecutor and a bigot, the police as incompetent or worse, and the five suspects as innocent of all charges against them” and claims that  “none of this is true.” She finishes by arguing that “it is a wonderful thing that these five men have taken themselves to responsible positions and community respect,” but reiterated that DuVernay “ignored so much of the truth about the gang of 30 and about the suffering of their victims” and described this as an “outrage.” Ava’s response to Linda’s “outrage?” The filmmaker responded to the op-ed on Twitter, calling Fairstein’s words “expected and typical.” Then she simply added, “Onward.” Expected and typical. Onward… https://t.co/phJtFpvH0a — Ava DuVernay (@ava) June 11, 2019   Our thoughts exactly. We’ll leave Fairstein to worry about stepping down from more boards and her book publisher dropping her like a hot ceramic plate.

Roc Nation Submits Evidence Against Judge Brinkley’s Lawyer In Meek Mill Case

Source: Meek Mill 2011 MTV2 Sucker Free Awards held at Fountainbleau Hotel Miami Beach, Florida – 11.11.11 Featuring: Meek Mill Where: Miami Beach, Florida, United States When: 11 Nov 2011 Credit: WENN  The legal battle behind Meek Mill’s unjust allegeldy probation violation sentencing continues. His team has presented new facts that justify the obvious. Complex is reporting that Roc Nation has submitted new evidence that proves that they were not trying to falsify statements from A. Charles Peruto Jr, the lawyer representing the judge overseeing Meek’s case. In late 2018 the attorney filed a suit against the management agency and Amazon over his appearance in the Free Meek documentary. He volunteered to appear in the film to formally discuss the case but was caught talking reckless. He admitted that Brinkley appeared to look “f***ing awful” for not granting the MMG rapper a new case. Charles also flatly said defending her was difficult given her rulings exposed as being biased against the Philadelphia MC. Peruto filed a lawsuit against the two companies claiming the audio was altered. The court documents stated “These illegally intercepted and digitized oral communications were then edited and leaked to the press so that Peruto’s off the record words would be manipulated against him and his client, Judge Brinkley”. Well the Roc is stood ten toes down on their claims and have since hired experts that have verified that the off the record statements were not doctored. “Even though they are recompressed into different formats, their content accurately reflects the dialogue recorded in the original evidence files” the new filings read. Presiding judge on the Roc Nation / Amazon suit, Judge McHugh, will soon rule if Peruto’s lawsuit can proceed or will be dismissed. — Photo: Brian Stukes/Getty Images
