Anna Gray, Shannon Price Battle Over Gary Coleman

The saga surrounding the tragic death of Gary Coleman continues to become more bizarre by the day, with two former loves now locking horns over him. Coleman’s former wife Shannon Price, who he divorced in 2008 but still lived with, has called the shots (and sold the Gary Coleman death photos ) so far. But a new will surfacing that allegedly names Anna Gray , the star’s close friend and former girlfriend, as executor and sole beneficiary, Price may be SOL. Gray, of Portland, Ore., filed a 2005 will last Friday in a Utah court stating Coleman left Gray the bulk of his estate. Said her attorney, Randy Kester: “Anna just wants to carry out Gary’s wishes. Her will is the most objective reflection of what Gary wanted. We’re going to be in this for the long haul.” Gary Coleman with Anna Gray (left) and Shannon Price. Gray was a business associate of the actor’s for about eight years before living with him briefly in Utah, and her will bumps Dion Mial out of the picture. Mial, Coleman’s former business manager, had filed a now-outdated copy of the actor’s will naming him as the executor, but that’s a moot point now. Price claims she was Gary’s common law wife and sole heir according to what she says is his handwritten 2007 will, written a week after they wed. Kester says ask a judge to issue an immediate restraining order against Shannon Price, who is “invading Gary’s home and disposing of his property.” “She has no right to his things.” The lawyer notes that he and Gray would not object to Price removing her own personal items, but this is different. “But she has taken all his personal papers, evidence and other belongings. That is completely disrespectful and a further indication of her objectives.” Price’s attorney, Mitchell Maughan, counters that “Nothing ever changed between Shannon and Gary,” and that “They lived as husband and wife.” “For now, this is about who should care for Gary’s remains. Beyond that, there isn’t much to fight over in his estate, there wasn’t much financially.” In both Price and Gray’s will, he requested to be cremated and that no funeral be held . Cremation is expected to take place in the next few days. But a Utah judge ruled Monday that Anna Gray will be allowed 48 hours to view Coleman’s body before that. A third party will oversee his affairs. A trial to determine if Price was indeed Coleman’s common law wife – and therefore possibly in charge of his remains – is expected to take months. “Shannon’s doing well, but it’s obviously hard for her as his wife to have people from his past coming out of the woodwork,” Maughan says. “Gary wanted to distance himself from all his past managers and the media, so this is upsetting to her, as it would be for anyone in her position.”

O.J. Simpson Appeals Conviction, Alleges Racial Bias

O.J. Simpson says his conviction for robbery and kidnapping was totally flawed because black jurors were wrongly excluded and the judge was prejudiced. Really. Addressing a three-justice panel of the Nevada Supreme Court, his attorney Yale Galanter, said O.J.’s guilty verdict should be overturned for said reasons. Simpson, who was acquitted after allegedly killing his ex-wife and her friend in 1995, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the 2007 kidnapping/robbery. Galanter said a litany of flaws called the outcome of the 2008 case into question, however, saying the judge served as a de facto prosecutor against O.J. “I don’t think this trial was handled in a fair and impartial manner,” Galanter said of Judge Jackie Glass, who he believes was biased towards the Juice. Worst. Appeal. Ever. Galanter cited an argument with the judge where, he discovered later, a bailiff was standing behind him during the exchange, handcuffs at the ready. “I had no idea that was happening. But the mental picture that creates for jurors is devastating for a lawyer trying to have credibility,” Galanter said. Also devastating? O.J. when he’s in a bad mood. Right, Christie Prody ? Prosecutors also wrongly excluded the only two African-Americans in the jury pool strictly because they might empathize with the defense, he added. “Their speculation on what these African-American jurors may have done had no place in this court room,” he added, saying it “smacked of prejudice.” “It was improper, it was not right,” he said. Same could be said of slitting your ex’s throat or hiring thugs to rob a memorabilia dealer, but no matter . State prosecutors denied the two jurors had been unfairly excluded. The court will rule on the appeal of O.J. Simpson ‘s conviction at a later date.

Gary Coleman 911 Call From Ex-Wife Gives Glimpse Of Actor’s End

Coleman and Shannon Price divorced in 2008, though she was with him when he fell. By Gil Kaufman Gary Coleman Photo: Michael Loccisano/Getty Images It’s still unknown what happened in the moments before former child actor Gary Coleman suffered a fatal head injury , but the details of the frantic 911 call from his ex-wife Shannon Price are providing a brief glimpse into the chaotic final days of the “Diff’rent Strokes” star. Coleman, 42, died on Friday of a brain hemorrhage after being rushed to a Utah hospital two days earlier following a fall at home. According to People magazine, Price, 24, who, it has since been revealed, divorced Coleman in 2008, initially resisting helping her estranged spouse. In the call, Price tells a 911 operator that Coleman fell while preparing her dinner on the evening of May 26 in their Santaquin, Utah, home. “He just got home, I heard this big bang, I went downstairs. Blood everywhere,” she said in the call. “I don’t know if he’s OK. I’m not down there right now because I have seizures, if I get stressed out I’m going to seize.” Price then described the scene, saying Coleman’s head was bloody and that there was blood all over the floor. “I don’t know what happened,” she said, prompting the operator to ask if Price could go down and check on Coleman. “I’ll try, I don’t know, I mean.” The operator asked if someone else could go check on Coleman and Price said there wasn’t. “I’ve just been kind of sick,” she said. “I don’t want to be traumatized right now.” She then yelled down to Coleman, asking if he was OK and telling him not to move. When the operator asked Price to tell Coleman to put pressure on his wound, Price reported back that the actor was lethargic. “I can’t really help him,” she said. “I just need help quick. … I just can’t be here with the blood. … I’m sorry, I can’t do it. I can’t. … There’s blood all over and I can’t do anything.” Later in the call, Price added that she wasn’t able to drive Coleman to the hospital because she’d been sick and feared having a seizure. As her panicked state increased, Price followed the operator’s advice and handed Coleman a towel to put pressure on the wound, telling the 911 staffer that the situation was stressing her out. “Yeah, I’m just panicked,” she said. “I don’t know what to do … I just don’t want him to die. I’m freaking out.” A short time later, she shouted for Coleman to sit down while applying the pressure to his head. An official cause of death has not yet been determined, but Coleman was taken off life support two days later after doctors determined that he’d suffered a critical brain hemorrhage. A funeral is expected to take place this weekend in Utah , though details about the service have not yet been released. In the meantime, a controversy has arisen over the actor’s final hours, after Coleman’s lawyer, Randy Kester, told UsMagazine.com that he questioned whether Price had the authority to make the decision to remove Coleman from life support since the couple were not longer married. “We had no indication that the information Shannon gave us was false,” a rep for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where Coleman was treated, told “Entertainment Tonight.” “She portrayed herself as his wife.” Kester said he was the attorney for the August 12, 2008, divorce proceedings, which were kept secret until the papers were dug up this week by “ET.” If they were remarried — which would entitle Price to make such medical decisions — Kester said he was not aware of it. According to TMZ , Coleman had signed an “Advanced Health Care Directive” that authorized Price to make medical decisions on his behalf. The couple met on the 2006 set of the movie “Church Ball” and married in 2007. Kester described their recent relationship as “on-again, off-again.” At press time, there didn’t appear to be a valid will for Coleman, setting up a potentially ugly battle between Price and Coleman’s estranged adoptive parents, Sue and Willie Coleman. Gary Coleman Put On Life Support

After being hospitalized on Wednesday following a fall, the actor is unconscious. By Jocelyn Vena Gary Coleman Photo: Todd Williamson/ Getty Images After being hospitalized on Wednesday, Gary Coleman is now on life support and unconscious, according to The Associated Press. He reportedly fell and suffered from an intracranial hemorrhage at his home outside of Salt Lake City. In a statement to E! Online Coleman’s manager, John Alcantar, said that right now the actor needs “thoughts and prayers” from his fans after his condition took a turn for the worse. After initially going to a local hospital for treatment on Wednesday, Coleman had been transferred to the ICU at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for further tests and treatment. “As of mid-morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid,” Alcantar explained. “By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened. … We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon, Mountain Time, on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support.” The statement from his manager says that despite his recent health scares and personal issues, the “Diff’rent Strokes” star “always has had fond memories of being an entertainer and appreciates his fans for all their support over the years. At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery.” A rep for Coleman had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment by press time. Coleman, who first became famous for playing Arnold Drummond on the TV series “Diff’rent Strokes,” also has a congenital kidney disease and receives frequent dialysis. Coleman had heart surgery last fall that became complicated by pneumonia, his attorney Randy Kester told the AP. Coleman has lived in Utah since 2005, when he moved there to star in a comic film called “Church Ball,” which is based on the basketball leagues formed by Mormons. Coleman and his wife, Shannon Price, met on the set of the film and married in 2007. Share your well-wishes for Gary Coleman in the comments below. Related Photos Career In Photos: Gary Coleman
