American Idol Results: Who Remains?

For their second performances last night, the remaining American Idol finalists sang tracks they wished they had written. This evening, though, the wishes of only three contestants would come true. So, perfect segue behind us, who got the boot? Following performances by David Cook and Jennifer Lopez, along with the announcement that both Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet were safe, it came down to Phillip Phillips and Hollie Cavanaugh. And the eliminated contestant this week is… Hollie! Cavanaugh took the news better than good friend Ledet, as she sang her farewell to “The Climb” and the audience stood up and cheered. What do you think, readers? Did voters make the right choice in sending Hollie home?

My Bieber experience was on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2012. I got a call…

My Bieber experience was on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2012. I got a call from my friend Ashley and she was telling me that her friend Shelby had extra tickets to see Justin at the MTV premiere of his music video for Boyfriend. I freaked out, and said I wanted to come. I met these two other beliebers a month or two ago and they were nice enough to let me carpool with them to the location where Justin was going to be at. Once we arrived, they gave us all numbers according to when you got there. After waiting for awhile, this guy on his walkie talkie was like, “The Beliebers have arrived,” funniest thing ever . They walked us into the audience area, but kept us in this holding room with subway and cookies- to keep us entertained until they finished setting everything up. Eventually that same guy who brought us in came into the holding room and told us where Justin was gonna enter, how he was gonna enter (in that sweet car!!) We were all flipping out, and wanting to take a peek. It was about that time to get set up into the audience and get ready for the interview. They had two chairs and a red carpet set up. My friends and I got put in the very front where Justin was gonna be sitting! As they were putting the finish touches, another guy with a clipboard was walking around asking girls if they would wanna ask Justin a question. I’m not really the type to do public speaking, or any speaking in front of people that I don’t know- but when it has something to do with Justin, sign me up. I told him “I wanna” and he gave me a question to ask him. I was second to last to ask him something so I was put to the other side where Sway was sitting. Time was ticking and it was finally time to start the interview. I could see the camera guy in the background counting down the seconds until Justin would make his entrance. I heard the car driving in the tent behind us and my heart was beating a million times faster than it ever has. This was really happening. Justin walked in and he started giving hugs to girls as he walked down the red carpet to get to his seat. He walked by me, and I GOT A HUG FROM HIM!  He took a seat after he reached the end of the line of girls. The whole time he was talking, I was just starring at him like “This can not be real.. You can not be real..” He’s extremely gorgeous in person, like way better than pictures/videos. When they played the Boyfriend music video, Justin was dancing and singing along, doing that arm dance thing he does during “swag swag swag” It was adorable. Half way through the interview, they handed me the mic to hold for my turn. When Sway pointed at me to ask a question, I couldn’t talk for the first few seconds, I was just in shock. Once the interview was over, Moshe was trying to rush Justin out of the museum cause he had to go straight to the studio. Instead of listening, Justin stayed and took pictures with the fans. We were all suppose to take group pics, but Justin ended up taking his time and made sure that he met all the fans that were there. Moments like that make me realize how incredible he really is. We all had to get into a line, and when it was my turn to go up to him I was like “Justin can I have a kiss on the cheek?” he smiled then said “You can have the biggest kiss.”  Then made a little MUAH noise right after. It was very hard to keep my cool especially after he JUST said that to me. We took our pictures, and then I walked over to Kenny who was right beside him. We talked for a little bit, then took a picture and after I had a little fangirl session with my friends on the side. Once he was finished meeting everyone, he said bye to us then left the building. The whole day was like something that would only happen in my dreams. I’m so so grateful for it all. Justin truly is the most amazing guy on the planet. -@fantabulousswag View post: My Bieber experience was on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2012. I got a call…

Octomom to Keep Her Kids … According to Octomom

Octomom’s 14 children will not be taken away from her because she is a fine mother and doing an exemplary job … according to Nadya Suleman herself. The Orange County Department of Children and Family Services came to her house on Thursday to investigate claims of her children living in putrid squalor. According to Octo, they gave her a “clean bill of health.” Three DCFS workers showed up at Nadya Suleman’s Orange County home, and she says they gave her a rave review … despite the shocking living conditions . Octo told TMZ, “[DCFS] said it’s a very suitable environment for these children.” Even crazier, Octo claims DCFS workers were actually impressed with her parenting skills, saying “They can’t even believe that I can do what I’ve been doing.” You know, we could say the same, though in an entirely different context. Is this woman delusional? They couldn’t possibly have said that, right? Octomom did have a four-person cleaning crew show up prior to DCFS’ arrival, so it’s likely the place was not as bad as when her hairstylist blew the whistle. Still, it’s gotta be a madhouse, and she has no way of supporting a family that size. It’s well established. So should Octomom’s kids be taken away ? [Photo: WENN.com]

Adam Levine Responds to "Aggressive" Jennifer Love Hewitt

Adam Levine appeared on Ellen yesterday and the host wasted little time getting to the important issues with The Voice judge. “Let’s talk about the women that love you,” DeGeneres said to cheers from the audience, specifically referring to Jennifer Love Hewitt’s recent appearance on the show when she made it clear she’d be open to dating/doing Levine . Is the artist, who recently split from Anne Vyalitsyna , interested? “That was aggressive,” Levine said, politely declining.

‘America’s Got Talent’ Gets Strong Support From Howard Stern Fans

‘He was honest and said exactly what the audience was thinking,’ fan Adam Lichtenstein says at show taping. By Uptin Saiidi Howard Stern outside “America’s Got Talent” auditions in New York Photo: Bobby Bank/WireImage Talent-competition show “America’s Got Talent” doesn’t premiere until May 14, but hundreds of fans came out to see tapings of the show in New York this week. When MTV News spoke to fans waiting to go into an audition taping Thursday afternoon (April 12), most said they were there because they’re fans of new judge Howard Stern, and some admitted they’d never even seen “AGT.” “He was honest and said exactly what the audience was thinking, and I think it’s going to add a big thing to the show,” Adam Lichtenstein, a fan so impressed by Stern he returned for a second day of taping, told MTV News. “Going into the show, we expected Howard to be a little bit mean, but he was honest, exactly like he was on the radio, and he didn’t let down.” Since the announcement came in December that Stern will be taking the place of Piers Morgan on the show, viewers have had mixed reactions , but most seem eager to check out his judging style. Joey Boots, a frequent contributor on Stern’s Sirius XM radio show, weighed in on what Howard will be like as a judge. “He’s been judging on his show for all these years, but a lot of people haven’t tuned in to the Howard Stern show because they hear how raunchy it can be. Now that he’s with ‘AGT,’ people are going to see how honest he is as a judge.” Howard’s new place at the table may mean his loyal fanbase could get even bigger. Boots observed people’s opinions change at the first show tapings. “I already talked to people before they’ve gone in talking about, ‘Oh, I don’t like Howard Stern,’ but after they come out they’re like, ‘I love the guy.’ To see that is great and I think that’s great for America, it’s great for Howard Stern and it’s great for ‘America’s Got Talent.’ ” When it came to how Howard might get along with fellow judges Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel, Boots admitted things might get rocky. “I’m sure there’s going to be arguing going on because he’s going to keep it real, and part of that is disagreeing with each other and I know that there’s gonna be a lot of disagreements, but it’s good. Hopefully everybody just keeps it real. That’s Howard’s motto.” With an unprecedented amount of talent-based reality shows hitting the small screen these days, it’s Stern’s straightforward style that might ultimately keep viewers turning in. “That’s what a show like this needs. Not somebody that’s going to be pressured like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna vote him in because I feel sorry for him.’ I don’t want somebody voted in favor of because they might be old or something, or it’s a little kid. Hey, if you’re not talented, get off the stage!”

First Look: Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Bruce Willis as a Time-Traveling Assassin in Rian Johnson’s Looper

This fall you’ll see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as you’ve never seen him before: As Bruce Willis . In the sci-fi time-travel action pic Looper , from Brick director Rian Johnson , Gordon-Levitt plays Joe, an assassin who ties up loose ends for the mob by killing targets as they’re sent back in time from the future — until one day his own future self (played by Willis) comes through for extermination. Previewing a teaser for the September release at WonderCon , Johnson and Gordon-Levitt discussed the trickiness of transforming Gordon-Levitt into a young Willis, pulled off with the aid of prosthetics, and why it’s particularly difficult to talk about their time travel thriller. With Willis playing the older version of Gordon-Levitt, the younger actor had to transform in two ways to better resemble his onscreen future self. The first trick: Three hours of prosthetics each day, which lent Gordon-Levitt more of a physical likeness. “We basically had to figure out a way to sell Joe as a young Bruce Willis,” Johnson explained, giving much of the credit Gordon-Levitt’s performance, which he described as “this incredible high wire act of acting, where Joe is doing Bruce but at the same time he’s creating a unique character who has the Bruce voice.” “It’s kind of amazing to watch. It’s his own character that he created but at the same time you see that character and you believe in the movie that could be a younger version of the Bruce you’re seeing onscreen.” Gordon-Levitt adopted Willis’s mannerisms by studying how he delivered lines in previous films, and by observing the old-fashioned way: In the flesh. “I watched all of his movies and took the audio out of his movies and put them on my iPod so I could listen to them over and over again,” he said, “but by far the most productive part of the preparation process was just hanging out, shooting the shit, having dinner, taking about music — getting to know him.” The world of Looper is more grounded in a gritty reality than in a fantasy atmosphere, with the time-travel element serving as a tool rather than the film’s focus — a choice Johnson says was somewhat borne of necessity due to the inherent difficulties of tackling a time-travel story to begin with. “Any time time travel is part of a story it’s kind of this beast,” Johnson said. “From a writing standpoint it’s a problem because time travel never makes sense. Unless you’re Shane Carruth, who I think actually knows how time travel works, the best you can do is this magic trick where you distract the audience narratively from the fact that it actually doesn’t make sense.” Johnson turned to James Cameron’s Terminator as a model on how to use the time-travel element. “For me that was a really fun challenge: How do you have time travel be an element in the movie but convince the audience not to think about it so deeply that they’re ignoring the movie thinking, ‘But wait, this’ – or ‘But wait, that?’ The approach we took is that these guys are assassins who use time travel as part of their job. We’re just going to be with them, and they don’t know how this stuff works – they don’t know the science, they don’t care about grandfather paradoxes and all the complexities of message board comments on the i09 site about how it works and how it doesn’t. They’re showing up every day, a guy is appearing from the future and they’re shooting him – that’s their job.” Nathan Johnson, cousin to the director and composer on both Brick and The Brothers Bloom , came up with an inventive concept for the score to match. “He took this tape recorder out to New Orleans where we were shooting the movie and found all these sounds, sampled them, slowed them down 3000 percent,” explained Rian Johnson, “and basically using all these unconventional sounds built up a score that has the size of an orchestra. It’s this huge action movie score but the sounds that you’re hearing are just foreign to your ear.” All that said, Johnson and Gordon-Levitt found themselves choosing their words wisely talking up Looper . Johnson explained: “A big part of what’s fun about the movie is figuring out what it is, and figuring out what it’s going to be by the end of it.” Looper hits theaters on September 28.
