Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth: Married! For Real!

Stop the presses and put an end to the speculation: Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are married. It’s finally true! And oh so exciting! For the past several days, fans of this reality star have been wondering whether or not she and her long-time acquaintance had tied the knot. There was chatter just a few days ago that Joy-Anna Duggar married Austin Forsyth last weekend in their native Arkansas. A top Duggar social media source, the Facebook page “Duggar Family News: Life Is Not all Pickles & Hairspray, fueled this speculation. Some sources reported that their wedding had, indeed, taken place, although we later learned this not the case after all. Now, however, we can state with certainty that the 19-year-old Joy and the 23-year-old Austin are wife and husband. Because they’ve confirmed it themselves! “We feel so happy and so excited,” the couple told People Magazine after getting married on Friday in a church full of family members and loved ones. The publication has even included a photo of Joy-Anna in her wedding dress for its exclusive article regarding the nuptials. Adds the bride of her big day and her new husband: “Leading up, it was so surreal until I was walking down the aisle and then I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s actually here.’ “We are going to be traveling for our Honeymoon for awhile.” The young star got engaged just a few months after announcing their courtship on the special episode of Counting On: Jinger’s Wedding in November. This is typical protocol for members of the family, of course. Due to the very strict Duggar dating rules , they are barely allowed to do more than whisper in one another’s ears while dating. Heck, you can’t even hold hands until you’re engaged. Therefore, it makes sense they’d want to get married as soon as possible once they find someone they like a whole lot. In Joy-Anna and Austin’s case, the two were family friends for 15 years before entering into a courtship last fall. “It’s really special that I got to grow up with him and my family knows him really well,” Joy-Anna said of Austin back in February. Speaking on their shared history and relationship, the teenager acknowledged at the time that she’s relatively young to be engaged. At the same time, she’s witnessed successful relationships across the board when it comes to her gigantic family. “Watching my sisters go through that with their courtships sets a really good example,” she told People, adding: “I was able to ask them just a lot of questions and wisdom about what they did and didn’t do and then just making it special.” “Showing him how much I appreciate him, it’s been amazing.” Joy-Anna and Austin, meanwhile, recorded a video for TLC so soon after their nuptials that the former is still in her gown. In this preview, the newlyweds tease the June 12 return of Counting On and make it clear that they’re totally psyched to be married. “Saying our vows and saying ‘I do’ and committing our lives to each other is so incredible,” the bride said, beaming with joy. “I am so blessed to be married to him.” And Austin agrees. “I’m just looking forward to getting to share my life, its good time and its challenges, with my best friend,” says in this same teaser. How do famous parent Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar feel about the bump in status for their daughter and official new son-in-law? Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell: Engaged!!

Right on the heels of news that Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth married  after all comes another cause for celebration in Arkansas: Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell got engaged! The 22-year-old and his 18-year-old fiancee announced their courtship just a few months ago, and just made things even more official. When he proposed … at Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding! People magazine was the first publication to confirm that he popped the question right after his little sister, 19, walked down the aisle. The pair, who met through their church, confirmed it. “We are super excited. It’s great to not be courting anymore, now we’re engaged!” Joseph Duggar and his beaming bride-to-be shared. “I’m so happy and so shocked. There’s so many words I want to say, but just shocked,” says Kendra, while Joseph revealed: “I was definitely nervous going into it, but I wasn’t afraid that she was going to say no, because she has said, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’” Not a lot of marriage proposals get turned down in Duggar Nation, it’s true. A courtship, after all, is basically a precursor to an engagement. When news of Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell courting first surfaced in March, few expected they would not get engaged soon. We just weren’t expecting quite this soon! “We are so excited to share the news with others that we are courting,” Joseph said then. “Our families are close friends through church.” “This has allowed Kendra and me to get to know each other. She’s the best!” Duggar added, and obviously, the feeling was quite mutual. “I’m looking forward to getting to spend more time with Joseph as we take this exciting step toward a new season in life,” Kendra added. “It’s a really wonderful moment!” Counting On Season 4, featuring Joy-Anna and Austin’s wedding, and Joseph asking Kendra’s dad’s permission to court, begins June 12. Not much of a spoiler to say that the scene teased in the Counting On Season 4 trailer ends up with a positive result for Joe in the end. As for talk that Joseph got Kendra Caldwell pregnant before marriage and that’s why this is being fast-tracked even by Duggar standards? It makes for great gossip … but that’s likely all it is. The Duggars stick to their guns when it comes to their dating and courtship rules. Much as we’d all love a great rebellion story along those lines, we’ll have to be content with mini-scandals like  Jinger wearing shorts .  Probably for the best. As always, there's an absurd amount of rumors and speculation surrounding the Duggar family in the lead-up to the Counting On Season 4 premiere. Fans want to know if Jinger Duggar is pregnant with her first child . They're wondering when we'll get to see Joy-Anna Duggar marry Austin Forsyth . And of course, they're curious as to how the family will keep Josh Duggar off camera this time around. Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth: Wedding Registry Revealed!

It’s only been a month since we learned that Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to Austin Forsyth , but relationships move fast in Duggar Land.  Like, extremely fast. Like, hand-holding to picking out baby names in a matter of weeks fast. It’s strange, but we guess it’s to be expected of kids who are forbidden to engage in just about any type of physical contact before their wedding night. And the word “kid” definitely applies to Joy-Anna, who just turned 19 in October. But apparently Joy-Anna’s age belies a stern practicality, as reflected in her no-frills wedding registry. The wish list – posted to TheKnot.com and obtained by Radar Online – features such items as a $55 wet-dry vacuum, a belt sander, a jigsaw, a toolkit, and a table saw. Either these two are planning some major DIY projects, or they’re hoping to get into some seriously weird stuff in the bedroom. But it won’t be all woodwoking and cleaning up after yourself in the Forsyth household. No, these two are planning to hit the town. Hard. And when we say “hard,” we mean they’re gonna enjoy themselves some free cheddar bay biscuits. Yes, Joy-Anna and Austin also requested gift cards to Panera, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. The Cracker Barrel choice says “traditional Arkansan couple,” but Panera screams “look out, y’all! Couple of wild Millennials here! One of us might just mess around and develop a gluten intolerance or vote for a very conservative Democrat!” But in case you were concerned that these two are getting a little big for their britches, fear not: The registry also includes requests for linens, towels, and tableware, all in plain shades of gray. You really can’t overstate how sheltered the Duggar kids are, so the phrase “shades of gray” probably doesn’t conjure the same image for Joy-Anna that it does for you. At 19, Joy-Anna is the youngest Duggar girl of her generation to be married off, and some fans have expressed concern over how quickly all of this seems to be happening. Catelynn Lowell: Showered in Gifts by Tyler Baltierra Amidst Cheating Scandal!

For about a month now, we’ve been hearing persistent rumors that the unthinkable has happened. We’ve been hearing that Tyler Baltierra has been cheating on Catelynn Lowell. It seems crazy to even think about, doesn’t it? Catelynn and Tyler have been together since they were preteens, and though they’ve been through some rough times , they’ve always seemed deeply in love. But still, a Teen Mom blind item about how “the MTV cameras have turned a blind eye to the cheating by this significant other of an OG Teen Mom because it doesn’t fit the storyline” was revealed to be about them. And it’s been chaos ever since. But now we’ve got a new piece of possible evidence that Tyler really may have cheated. Check out this killer ring he recently gave Catelynn: In the caption of this photo, Catelynn wrote “My husband is so sweet. A limited edition Beauty and the Beast ring. For real how did I get so lucky?!?!?” It seems to be a pretty common custom for cheating cheaters to give their significant others fancy, special gifts as an apology for their adulterous ways. But it’s also worth noting that Catelynn celebrated a birthday last weekend, and in her post about the ring she thanked Tyler for “the best birthday ever.” So we can consider this mystery solved, right? But there are more just around the corner! Because after posting the photo of the ring, Catelynn shared this meme: Aaaaand we’re back to the cheating jokes . Catelynn and Tyler both seem to be having a ball with the cheating rumors, making joke after joke (after joke after joke after …) about how he’s sleeping around and about how she’s the jilted wife. This latest one is particularly disgusting — sorry if your appetite was ruined forever — but it fits right in with their new tradition of joking forever about one blind item. Of course they’re free to make as many jokes as they want to, and they can handle rumors about themselves how they see fit, but it kind of seems like they’re dragging this whole thing out, right? At this point, they’re fueling the rumors themselves . But hey, maybe they like the attention, and that’s fair. Goodness knows we like analyzing the hell out of each and every move this Teen Mom couple makes.

(3-4 months is the norm in Duggar Land.) The problem is, the sites spreading the news are operated by fans, and no official Duggar outlet has confirmed the date yet. That said, no one in the family has denied that the rumors are true, either. The situation has prompted many to speculate that Austin and Joy-Anna have yet to pick a date.  That, in turn, has sparked rumors that they’re taking their time due to Joy-Anna’s youth. Whether they’re revealed publicly or not, Duggar nuptial dates are usually set within a few days of the engagement. (After all, there’s no reason in wasting precious baby-makin’ time once the courtship is over with.) The delay by Joy-Anna and Austin has many wondering if the couple has decided to take it slow so as to avoid another Josiah Duggar-Marjorie Jackson situation. Josiah and Marjorie called it quits after several weeks of courting, and the breakup was followed by rumors of mistreatment from the Duggars and a tell-all memoir from Jackson. Granted, Josiah and Marjorie never made it to the courtship stage, but it’s not hard to see how the situation might have left the family a bit shell-shocked. Of course, the more likely explanation is that Joy-Anna and Austin are simply holding off on releasing any information so that they can save all the big reveals for the next season of Counting On. Austin Forsyth: Joy-Anna’s Fiance, Family Even More Strict Than the Duggars?

If you’re a card-carrying member of Duggar Nation, you know that Joy-Anna just got engaged to Austin Forsyth after a whirlwind courtship. And we mean whirlwind. Even by Duggar standards, Joy-Anna and Austin are moving this courtship thing along at a breakneck pace. Those who watch Counting On online were introduced by the 19-year-old Joy-Anna to boyfriend “Austin” on the season finale last fall. Incredibly, as more information about the Forsyth family comes to light, it appears that they may be even more strict than the Duggars. His family runs the Fort Rock Family Camp in Arkansas, and has been acquainted with the Duggars and their church for many years. (This appears to be a familiar pattern; As with  Joseph Duggar courting Kendra Caldwell , her family attends the family’s church as well.) “We are extremely happy to announce the courtship of our son, Austin,” parents Terry and Roxanne wrote on their Christian retreat’s page.  “He and Joy have honored the Lord and will be a great testimony for his goodness and provision for a spouse. Congratulations to Austin & Joy!”  After almost 15 years of friendship, it appears that Joy-Anna Duggar has already become a part of Austin’s family, or close to it. A quick look at the retreat’s site shows Joy-Anna posing next to Austin, now believed to be 22, and his family in a “camp staff” photo. Joy’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, are well aware of this, of course; They frequent the Forsyth’s family camp in St. Paul, Arkansas. The Duggars last visited in October, speaking at the 5th annual fall marriage retreat (yes, Jim Bob and Michelle offer marriage advice ). “We’re so thankful for Austin,” Michelle gushed of her daughter’s new beau last fall. “He is a great guy and we’re excited about the future.” Not only are the Forsyths’ members of the Duggars’ inner circle, they’re not new to the whole reality TV scene themselves. It’s this fact that has some fans worried about Joy-Anna. In 2009, when he was 15, he starred alongside his parents and sister Meagan on Season 1 of CMT’s  World’s Strictest Parents . No, we did not invent the existence of that show, as much as you might think so. It was actually a thing and they were on it. The series, which was what it sounds like, united troubled teens with strict parents in hopes of helping them turn over a new leaf. Whether it achieved that goal or not, it certainly gave viewers some insight into Austin’s family and their extremely rigid belief system. The Forsyths place a heavy emphasis on modesty, homeschooling and staying “pure” until marriage, which likely sounds pretty familiar. Not unlike the Duggars, that includes saving your first kiss for your wedding day (suffice it to say, premarital sex is out of the question ). In one particular scene, it was revealed to viewers that during a Sunday school lesson, the Forsyth’s guests were taught about dating. Specifically, the dangers of dating, which “leads to divorce.” To our knowledge, the Duggars have never used wording that strong. However, we all know how seriously regimented they are, and how courtship has been called “dating with a purpose” or a pre-engagement. In any event, it’s no wonder that we’ve heard talk of Joy-Anna’s courtship rules being the strictest ever enforced by the famous family. Critics will likely talk about how unhealthy this all is. Maybe they’re right, or maybe it’s exactly what these two young people want and love. All we can tell you is that they look happy as a pair of human beings can be, and that by all accounts that matter, it’s a match made in …  … somewhere in Northwest Arkansas, nestled among the Ozarks. At least if you can describe a pair of repressed, sheltered, virginal 20-somethings running around in layer upon layer of denim as heaven. If anyone can, it would be Joy-Anna and Austin, and we are so excited for them as long as they’re happy in taking this next big step. Ditto Joseph and Kendra, whose romance was announced today. We just hope that they’re doing it for the right reasons, and chart their own course in life, rather than living wholly in their families’ shadows. Joy-Anna Duggar: ENGAGED to Austin Forsyth!

Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to be married! The fifth oldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle will be walking down the aisle with Austin Forsyth after a VERY short courtship, she confirms. “We just got engaged!” Joy-Anna, 19, announced. “I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend.” “Austin made it so romantic, it’s amazing.” Forsyth tells Us that he is looking forward to their engagement , their marriage and all the big relationship milestones that lie ahead. “I’m just overwhelmed with emotion,” he says. “I’m so excited to be engaged because that means the next step is marriage, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for us!” The near future, apparently. We predicted earlier this week that Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth were on the fast track, but this?! Duggar and family friend Forsyth, who have known each other for 15 years, announced on November 15 that they had started courting.  Once Austin got the green light from Jim Bob , which you saw if you watch Counting On online , he was prepared to pop the question. The courtship question, that is. Not the marriage one, which he put off a solid couple of months (no word yet on where he proposed). If his previous romantic gestures are any indication, though … Austin chose a spot in a wooded area to ask Joy-Anna to enter into the courtship – a pre-engagement of sorts, in Duggar family parlance. “It’s a place that I’ve come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord,” he said at that time about the special location. “I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her.” Asking her dad if he could court Joy, Austin gushed: “Over the years, I’ve been watching, and I really admire her heart for the Lord and her character. She’s such a diligent worker.” “She gets all the younger siblings working. She’s a good delegator,” he said, awkwardly, when asked by Jim Bob why he’s into Joy. “And, of course, her beauty.” Of course . While reports of Austin and Joy having sex are most likely exaggerated, we’re also sure they’re past the side hug stage. Like Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo before them, there’s been talk of this duo breaking the courtship rules and racing to the altar from day one. So when’s the wedding? It’s unclear, but just days ago, Joy-Anna opened up to People magazine about the possibility of saying “I do” in the near future. “I’m not sure when the next step will come,” Joy said. “You would have to ask Austin what he’s thinking and my dad, but I’m excited to see what God has in store for us in the next year.” Clearly she had a handle on her romantic future. At 19, Joy-Anna will be the youngest bride in her generation of Duggars, but it seems she has zero qualms will taking the leap. “For Austin and Joy it probably won’t be super long just because they’ve known each other for forever,” her sister Jessa Duggar said. “There’s kind of a get-to-know you phase, [but] at the same time, we know so much about Austin and his family and we know that he’s a great guy.” View Slideshow: 13 Disturbing Things BANNED By the Duggar Family So, there you have it, folks.  Once again, these Duggar folks move at a breakneck pace once they find someone, and perhaps that’s not altogether (or at all) surprising. Each seems to move faster and faster, either by coincidence or because the notion of long-term side hugs and chaperones is unmoving. As for the two new Duggar courtships we’ve been hearing whispers about – regarding the guys, for a change – still no word on those. Congrats to Joy-Anna!!
