Liam Hemsworth Defends Miley Cyrus

It’s been a controversial month for Miley Cyrus. First, the singer released the official musical video for “Can’t Be Tamed,” sending a clear message to anyone that viewed it: So long, Hannah Montana! Then, another video landed the singer in hot water: she was filmed grinding and bumping with movie producer Adam Shankman. Through it all, though, Liam Hemsworth has remained by her side. The Australian actor told Hollywood Life that “Can’t Be Tamed” is a “great” video and: “Everyone gets criticism, it’s kind of what comes with this job… everybody’s trying to bring you down. She’s got a good head on her shoulders.” As for his relationship with Miley, Liam added : “We get along great, she’s a great girl. We work great together.” Apparently, Liam’s vocabulary is as varied as his girlfriend’s wardrobe choices. Still, these two do appear to be a stable couple and we can’t knock Hemsworth for standing by his gal.

Aussie Sweet Sixteen Sailor Winds Big !

—–Around—the—Globe—— Watson returns as 'Australia's newest hero' (ABC news) Teen sailor Jessica Watson has completed a triumphant return to Sydney, with thousands of people on land and water giving her a hero's welcome. After a 210-day journey of a lifetime, the 16-year-old from Queensland's Sunshine Coast has become the youngest person to sail around the world, solo, non-stop and unassisted. Just two days shy of her 17th birthday, Watson sailed her 10-metre yacht Ella's Pink Lady up Sydney Harbour, the same spot she left from almost seven months ago. Battling six-metre swells and a ripped main sail, the final leg of her journey took several hours longer than what was predicted. She disembarked at the Opera House, made an emotional reunion with her parents, and then met the official welcome party including Mr Rudd and NSW Premier Kristina Keneally. Mr Rudd told Watson she has done the nation proud. “Jess, welcome back to dry land, welcome back home to Australia,” he said. “You may feel a little wobbly on your feet just now but in the eyes of all Australians you now stand tall as our newest Australian hero. “At 16 years old, you are a hero for all young Australians, you are also a hero for all young Australian women, you do our nation proud. This is a great day for our country.” More——– http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/05/15/2900405.htm —-ALSO—- Australian teenager finishes round-world solo sail (Reuters) Accompanied by a flotilla of supporters' boats, Jessica Watson, 16, sailed through the harbour entrance around 2 p.m. (0400 GMT), at the end of a controversial seven-month journey. Watson is the youngest person to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world. She returned home three days short of her 17th birthday. However, her voyage is not expected to qualify officially as a record because of issues about her route and young age. Her backers, including her family, have also come in for harsh criticism, with some experienced yachtsmen opposing the voyage. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd proclaimed her “Australia's newest hero” after thousands watched her yacht Ella's Pink Lady dock at the Sydney Opera House. Her arrival was delayed by choppy seas and a torn sail. Watson said she was just an “ordinary girl who believed in her dream”. Olivia Newton-John Will ‘Really Surprise’ ‘Glee’ Fans With ‘Physical’

‘It’s not your mama’s Olivia Newton-John,’ musical producer Adam Anders says. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Olivia Newton John Photo: Gustavo Caballero/ Getty Images Olivia Newton-John is coming to Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) rescue on Tuesday’s (May 4) episode of “Glee.” The episode will see the Australian pop singer/actress and the cheerleading coach remake the famous “Physical” video, after a video of Sue jazzercising is leaked. “I totally geeked out when she started singing ‘Physical,’ ” “Glee” musical producer Adam Anders told MTV News about the duet between Newton-John and Lynch. “I was like, ‘What’s happening?’ She sounds exactly the same! But this is a whole new version of it. You’ll be really surprised to hear it. It’s not your mama’s Olivia Newton-John.” Anders also promised that viewers will find the “Grease” star’s appearance in the episode organic. “You can say what you want about it, but this show is real,” he said. “At the heart of it, it’s about real issues, real stories. When the music brings those stories out, it’s really powerful.” Though Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel have already graced the show this season, and Neil Patrick Harris has a guest appearance coming up, Anders maintains that the show’s real star is the music. “The best part of ‘Glee’ is introducing new music to an older generation and old music to a newer generation. There’s so much great music. We all listen to music in a vacuum, then we’re exposed to things and love it. Olivia Newton-John is an example of that. “It’s a perfect marriage between the songs that were chosen and the storyline. When that happens, it moves people,” he continued. “Music, at the end of the day, is all about emotion. When you get that reaction, people are gonna buy it.” Are you excited to see Jane Lynch and Olivia Newton-John get “Physical”? Tell us in the comments! Regina Spektor Tells Musical Stories At Sold-Out Sydney Opera House

‘It’s so amazing not to play by yourself,’ she told her devoted Australian fans. By Matt Elias Regina Spektor (file) Photo: Jeff Gentner/Getty Images SYDNEY, Australia — The warm night in Sydney was the perfect backdrop for the sun-drenched tunes from Regina Spektor’s most recent effort, Far. The cathedral-like Sydney Opera House only added to the ambience. The Brooklyn songstress took the stage Wednesday night (April 28), greeting the mostly female sold-out crowd, which rejoiced at the first notes of “Calculation” (the opening track on Far ). Although the singer/songwriter was far from home, the audience proved to be more than familiar with her material. Fans shouted requests and “I love yous” between songs but were silent whenever Spektor, on piano, marched through a track. The set continued with more selections from her 2009 album, including “Eet” and a peppier version of “Folding Chair.” By the third song, the crowd had grown giddy, waiting for Spektor to address them directly. During a quiet moment, spontaneous giggling erupted and seemed to spread. Regina responded: “I feel like I have some lipstick on my nose.” The singer reached back into her catalog for “Ode to Divorce,” an oldie that highlighted the concert hall’s brilliant acoustics. Spektor’s voice sounded so close, it was as if you were sitting beside her on the piano bench. She followed that up with the frantic “Machine” and “Laughing With,” which drew extra cheers. The remainder of the evening was peppered with crowd favorites and a back-and-forth with the audience. After the crowd clapped along to “Better,” a fan begged, “Tell us a story, Regina!” That drew a clever response from Spektor: “I am. I’m telling stories all night long!” While she spent most of the night at the keys, Regina finally got up for “Dance Anthem of the 80s” (also from Far ), strapping on a guitar as she recalled “The Simpsons” episode where Homer goes to rock-and-roll summer camp. As the nearly two-hour show drew to a close, Regina told the crowd, “It’s so amazing to play here, and it’s so amazing not to play by yourself,” referring to the devoted fans who came to see her. In case anyone wasn’t sufficiently impressed, Spektor returned for a five-song encore. Fans showed they had her back, filling in when Regina forgot a few of the lyrics to “Samson.” That exchange brought to mind the words from “Eet,” sung earlier in the evening: “It’s like forgetting the words to your favorite song/ You can’t believe it, you were always singing along.” What do you think of Regina’s most recent album, Far ? Justin Bieber Concert Canceled In Australia Due To Crowd Stampede

Thousands surge stage barriers, injuring some, before police shut down Sydney appearance. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber in Sydney on Sunday Photo: Graham Denholm/Getty Images Justin Bieber has done it again. The Canadian teen who has caused shopping mall stampedes in New York and Paris the past, set off a dangerous crowd surge in Sydney, Australia, on Monday (April 26) when fans just couldn’t wait for his scheduled mini-set on the “Sunrise” morning show. Producers were forced to cut short his appearance to avoid further injuries to the hysterical crowd. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, thousands of Bieber fans camped out overnight at the overseas passenger terminal at Circular Quay in Sydney Harbour for Bieber’s only scheduled concert in Australia on Monday. But when the screaming teens began to surge forward in waves while waiting for him to appear, police said they broke down the crowd barrier and girls near the front were being crushed against the stage, so organizers and police canceled the show. ? “Everybody was just shoving and pushing forward. They had two massive screens out, and they started to play Justin Bieber songs and everybody started cheering and pushing forward more,” said 13-year-old Sophie Kelly , one of four Aussie teens who won a contest to meet Bieber before the aborted show. The concert’s host came out and told the crowd the show would be canceled if everyone didn’t take two steps back and stop pushing. ? “But he [the host] was acting like the whole thing was a joke, and he kept on adding Justin Bieber things in there and so people just kept on screaming and pushing forward more,” Kelly said. The problems began when word started to circulate around 2 a.m. that Bieber had arrived in Sydney, which set off a crowd surge that continued on and off for the next several hours, and some of the estimated 4,000 fans were trampled and crushed. More than 100 teens near the stage were pulled out of the crush suffering from distress, another 10 were treated by paramedics after fainting, and two were taken to a local hospital for more serious injuries. Police decided to pull the plug before any more injuries were sustained, according to the paper. ? Police broke up the event and told everyone to go home, which did not sit well with the fans, or their parents. “Clearly this total waste of our kids’ time, sleep and pocket money getting there was a deliberate publicity stunt designed to exploit fans,” one father told the paper. Hoping to calm the disappointed crowd down, Bieber performed his hit “Baby” in the “Sunrise” studio before telling fans to go home. He had been scheduled to sing three songs at the show. ? “I would love you to stay and hang, but you have got to go,” he told the throng. “The police say you’ve got to go home.” He promised to come back to Australia soon. “I am just as disappointed as everyone else with the news from this morning. I want to sing for my fans.” he tweeted later, clarifying that he did not cancel the show. “I woke up this morning to the police canceling the show for safety reasons. … I love my fans … I love it here in Australia … and I want to sing.” Bieber later thanked his Australian fans for such a warm welcome and reminded them that their safety comes first. “With everything that happened 2day I want u all 2 know I care and u all rule and if I could thank every 1 of u individually I would,” he tweeted hours after the incident. For fervent Bieber followers, the Sydney surge sounded very similar to a previous incident at mall in Long Island, New York, in November, when a concert by the singer was canceled at the final moment and hundreds of fans started a stampede after an alleged sighting of the singer. Bieber’s manager, Scott “Scooter” Braun , pleaded not guilty last month to charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance stemming from the incident at Roosevelt Field Mall when a crowd of 30,000 became unruly and five were injured in a stampede.? Do you think Justin Bieber fans are getting a little too feverish, or are the police overreacting? Have you been at an out-of-control Bieber event? Isabel Lucas and Her Guitar Try to Get Noticed of the Day

There’s a big media push behind this Isabel Lucas bitch. She’s some Australian who wanted to make it in America because she saw success at home and figured it was an easy transition. She pretty much only got work in Transformers and people noticed that she was hot, but that was the extent of the shit, but now she’s on her fucking hustle to remind people that she’s more than just hot, she’s the next big fucking thing….. I can always tell when someone’s got fire under their career’s ass, because the paparazzi agencies start posting more pictures of them, they start doing more stunts and appearances, and most importantly they usually start wearing see-through clothes, accidentally flash nipple or pussy and if we’re real lucky, sex tape…cuz hollywood is pretty much equally trashy as porn….. So walking around the airport with a guitar like the homeless lesbian who badly sings old punk songs and claims she’s looking for money to travel may not quite be what we’re looking for, but I assume there was a miscommunication…they said “keep your instrument unwrapped and out of the bag”…I’m hoping another miscommunication is that she’s supposed to be filming in Montreal and now she’s dating Jake Gyllenhaal, a very unfortunate thing for anyone, even if he’s got a crush on Australians every since Heath left his life and makes her rise to getting noticed easier…..when really all she needs to do is suck it up and let out her genitals…. People dig her, she’s hot, but I hate her for the Gyllenhaal shit, I just can’t see past that, even if it’s social climbing, the good news is that she’s supposed to be in Montreal, I’m in Montreal and will try to talk her out of this strategy and give her a DrunkenStepfather make-over, but no the kind of make-over I give my wife, because not everyone is so open minded to getting shit on….
