Source: The Washington Post / Getty Cokie Roberts Dies Cokie Roberts , the legendary ABC News journalist, and political commentator has passed away. ABC News reports that Cokie passed away from breast cancer complications. She was 75-years-old. “We will miss Cokie beyond measure, both for her contributions and for her love and kindness,” her family said in a statement. Cokie named a “Living Legend” by the Library of Congress in 2008. She also won three Emmys and was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and was cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the 50 greatest women. She is survived by her husband, fellow journalist Steven Roberts, her children, Lee and Rebecca and her six grandchildren.

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Beyoncé thrilled fans with the release of The Lion King: The Gift , an album that served as an audio companion piece to Disney’s remake of The Lion King in which the songstress starred in. Fans will now have an inside look into the making of the sonically diverse project by way of a documentary that airs Monday night (September 16). Deadline reports : The special will air at 10 PM ET/PT on ABC and offers candid footage and interviews. The album came out July 19 in conjunction with Walt Disney Pictures live-action remake of the animated classic. Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records teamed up on the album, which brought together some of the most important African artists of the day with well-known American talent to reinterpret the story and themes of the film with authentic sounds of Africa. Beyoncé Presents: Making The Gift was written, directed and produced by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, with co-director and collaborator Ed Burke. Executive producers are Steve Pamon and Erinn Williams. Before Zack Snyder basically ruined the DCEU with his long-time coming yet lackluster superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (even that title was hella corny), he took another beloved comic book series and brought it to the silver screen with Watchmen . Though the 2009 film got mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike, it was a visually stunning achievement as far as comic book films go and now HBO is looking to turn the cult classic 80’s comic book franchise into a brand new series with a different iteration of the original source material Snyder brought to life. Starring Regina King as Angela Abar who’s a wife by day and masked vigilanti by night, Watchmen is set in an alternate reality in which the world is five minutes from midnight on the Doomsday Clock and the only thing keeping the planet as we know it from utter destruction are masked outlaw heroes who put in that work that law enforcement are prohibited from doing. Though it doesn’t seem like we’ll be graced with the presence of a Doctor Manhattan or a Comedian, the show does seem to include a gang of Rorschach disciples and an older version of Ozymandias. We also get a glimpse of the OG Watchmen airplane, the Owlship, crash landing onto the earth. Will another original Watchmen hero be behind the wheel? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. N orman Hood was only 11 years old and living in Battle Creek, Michigan. On May 28, he was on his m iniature motorized bike and was killed by a police officer speeding. The police officer will face no charges. See Also: A Timeline Of Dallas Cop Amber Guyger Killing Botham Jean In His Own Home WOODTV reports the unidentified office was driving to an emergency call and was speeding at “66 miles per hour in an area with a speed limit of 30 miles per hour.” The deputy was not using his lights or sirens. Jackson County Prosecutor Jerard Jarzynka decided to not file charges, saying, “Under Michigan law, a police officer can exceed the speed limit. This is a tragic accident.” He also claimed “Michigan law provides exceptions to whether the officer must use their emergency lights or siren.” Jarzynka then appeared to blame the child, claiming “Norman is seen riding the pocket bike wearing dark-colored clothing before abruptly making a sharp turn in front of the deputy.” Jarzynka stated, “His actions of doing that certainly resulted in this collision. Suddenly he’s just coming out of nowhere.” No charges. It is rare for cops to ever be prosecuted. Vox.com reports, 3,238 criminal cases against police officers were analyzed from April 2009 through December 2010, “They found that only 33 percent were convicted, and 36 percent of officers who were convicted ended up serving prison sentences. For a while she agreed that he too was a victim, but now she’s coming for his coins. According to TMZ , Sabbag picked up a new lawyer who demanded a six-figure payment from Hart. The comedian turned down the alleged shake down, and here we are. Sabbag’s lawsuit is against Hart and J.T. Jackson, the latter is a former friend who allegedly recorded the tape without the comedian’s knowledge. Hart has reportedly been working with the D.A. on the case for over two years with Jackson facing up to 4 years in prison for extortion . However, Sabbag claims Hart was in on the tape to boost his fame. This theory is kind of suspect considering he was already the most famous comedian in the game and a sex tape is a bad look for his family man image. Hart is currently recovering from a car accident that left him with serious back injuries.
