Kirk Cameron Slams Grammy Gay Marriages as "Assault on Traditional Family"

Kirk Cameron, a former child actor who has referred to homosexuality as unnatural and destructive , took to Facebook this week and slammed the Grammy Awards for featuring 33 marriage ceremonies – many of them same-sex couples – on stage Sunday night. The unusual event took place during a performance of performance of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love,” with Queen Latifah officiating the unions. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Grammy Awards Performance 2014 (ft. Mary Lambert, Madonna & Queen Latifah) “How did you like the Grammy’s all out assault on the traditional family last night?” the 43-year-old wrote in a post that has since been taken down from his account. Cameron then went on to promote his new film, Mercy Rule, contrasting it with what he considers to be the abomination of gay marriage. “Now more than ever, we must work together to create the world we want for our children,” he wrote. “I’m hoping that just as Fireproof restored marriages, MERCY RULE will strengthen families.” “You told me on Facebook how you wanted to see MERCY RULE, and I heard you. That’s why Family Christian stores and I are giving it to you now. Just the way you want it.” Cameron, a born again Christian, starred in a ” Champions of Marriage ” video in 2012 that was sponsored by The National Organization for Marriage. He wrapped up his Facebook post on Monday with the following: “May God bless you and keep you and I can’t wait for you to tell me what you think.” As you might expect, those on both sides of the aisle have very much done so. Grammy Awards 2014 Performances: Who Was Your Favorite?

The 2014 Grammy Awards featured an eclectic mix of live performances from the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Macklemore and Kendrick Lamar . Popular and diverse acts from across every genre came together at Staples Center to help celebrate the biggest night in music, and rarely did they disappoint. Well … don’t tell that to NIN’s Trent Reznor , who was cut off, and then WENT OFF on the CBS telecast for curtailing what was to be his own live effort last night. Aside from Trent though … great stuff all around. From Beyonce and Jay Z getting freaky to a Lorde Grammy performance that showcased a possible legend in the making, these Grammys had it all. He lost out to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in a number of key categories, but Kendrick Lamar still took the Grammys stage by storm on Sunday evening. Performing with Imagine Dragons, the rapper performed a mashup of the band’s hit “Radioactive” with “M.A.A.D City” from his album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City . Watch the show-stopping live collaboration below: Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar Grammy Awards Performance Lamar’s record was nominated for the Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, and the up-and-comer was up for five more awards at the annual event. Should he have been among the 2014 Grammy Awards winners ? Maybe believe so. But any perceived snub should only fuel the talented youngster. Lamar’s debut studio album, which ranked second on the Billboard 200, has already earned him extensive critical acclaim as well as wide  popularity. GQ named him Rapper of the Year for 2013. For the performance, the band and rapper dressed in all white and rocked out on the smoke-filled stage, strobe lights blazing and sound pulsating. The sound cut out multiple times during Lamar’s explicit rhymes, while Jay Z, Beyonce, Lorde , Katy Perry, Robin Thicke and Steven Tyler danced in approval. Soon after the energetic performance generated major buzz, Imagine Dragons debuted the remix to “Radioactive,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, on iTunes. Among Kendrick Lamar ‘s pre-game advice to his Imagine Dragons collaborators: “Don’t go against your own shit … I don’t want anybody to do anything fake.” Mission accomplished. 2014 Grammy Awards Performances Open Slideshow 1.
