Cemetery Gives Mourning Mother Wrong Baby’s Body For Burial A Memphis woman who gave birth to a stillborn baby was forced to endure additional distress when she was given the wrong baby to bury upon arriving at the cemetery. via News One Veronica Miller delivered a stillborn baby at 33 weeks and was given the wrong body to bury by Memphis’ Shelby County Cemetery, reports the Daily Mail. The county cemetery, which is a government-sponsored potter’s field for those who cannot afford the expenses of a burial, was was recommended to Miller by the hospital where she delivered her daughter Malaysia. “The hospital convinced me that this was a wonderful place for babies,” she told WMCTV. Yet when Miller went to visit the burial grounds, she discovered that it was far from what she had been told by hospital personnel. “I wouldn’t bury my dog there,” Miller lamented. “We saw markers that were scattered out, came out the ground. I mean, how would I identify that this is where my baby is at?” The young Mom then made the request to have her child’s body removed from the cemetery and turned over to a funeral director. Smh. Rajani is one of the countless under age victims of the illegal child bride industry that is uncovered in a new ground-breaking investigation, Too Young To Wed , that was launched on Thursday to coincide with the International Day of the Girl Child, RadarOnline.com learned in an e-mail statement from United Nations Population Fund (UNPF). The startling revelations shed light on the millions of women around the world who are forced to wed before they are even teenagers, such as Tehani, a six-year-old from Yemen who became a wife before she even knew how babies were made. Or Meigon, 11, from Afghanistan, who revealed, “In my whole life, I have never felt love.” The remote Indian village of Rajasthan is spotlighted in the shocking study and the focus of a National Geographic article that reveals how the illicit ceremonies are conducted late at night, with the drunken grooms arriving by car instead of the customary elephant or the lavishly saddled horses Joining Rajani on her wedding night were her aunts, Radha and Gora, 15 and 13, who unlike her were old enough to understand their fate. The only person to have met the future husbands was their father – and Rajani’s grandfather – a farmer named Mr. M, who clandestinely hid the ceremony from the watchful eye of the police, as in India girls may not legally marry before age 18. “Child marriage spans continents, language, religion, caste. In India the girls will typically be attached to boys four or five years older; in Yemen, Afghanistan, and other countries with high early marriage rates, the husbands may be young men or middle-aged widowers or abductors who rape first and claim their victims as wives afterward, as is the practice in certain regions of Ethiopia,” reveals National Geographic writer, Cynthia Gorney, who has traveled around the world with photographer Stephanie Sinclair capturing heartbreaking tales and images. One tells of Ghulam, the 11-year-old bride from Afghanistan who was married off in 2005, forced to drop out of school, giving up on her dream of becoming a teacher one day. Parents often remove their daughters from school even before they are engaged to limit their interactions with boys. Some marriages are business transactions – such as a debt cleared in exchange for an 8-year-old bride or the resolution of a family feud by handing over a 12-year-old virgin – while others aim to unite families and combat overwhelming poverty. A man named Mohammed in remote western Yemen told of a girl in his village named Ayesha. “She is 10 years old,” he said. “Very tiny. The man she married is 50 years old, with a big belly, like so. “Like a rat getting married to an elephant.” Mohammed described the arrangement called shighar, in which two men provide each other with new brides by exchanging female relatives. “These men married each other’s daughters,” he explained. “If the ages had been proper between the husbands and new wives, I don’t think anyone would have reported it. But girls should not marry when they are 9 or 10. Maybe 15 or 16.” Near the end of her trip to Yemen, Gorney received a dispatch that highlighted the horror of the illegal matrimonies. “Newspapers were reporting that a bride from a village had been dropped off at a Sanaa hospital four days after her wedding,” she wrote. “Sex appeared to have ruptured the girl’s internal organs, hospital officials said. She had bled to death. She was 13 years old.” It is estimated that about 51 million girls below age 18 are currently married, often under the cover of darkness and in secret. In Afghanistan alone, it is believed that approximately 57 percent of girls wed before the legal age of 16. In many cases, the girls are lorded over by their husbands and in-laws, leaving them vulnerable to domestic violence as well as physical, sexual and verbal abuse. Underage wives who are lucky enough to escape from their husbands end up living in poverty, or worse. Some girls turn to “the world’s oldest profession” to earn a meager income and enter brothels, where they are subjected to horrific abuse. It is estimated that over the next decade, 100 million more girls — or roughly 25,000 girls a day — will marry before they turn 18 if this issue is not urgently addressed. Wow… We can’t say we’re shocked to hear Nadya Suleman is an ain’t isht mom, but this is just crazy! According to CBS Local reports : Two nannies who worked for Nadya Suleman claim they witnessed child neglect and sexual abuse in her La Habra home, CBS2 reported Thursday. The former caregivers, who wish to remain unidentified out of fear Suleman will sue them, said they’ve broken their silence because the abuse escalated. “I feel like those children are in danger,” one of the women told CBS2’s Stacey Butler. “I think something is going to happen to those children if nothing is done.” The nannies allege Suleman tied her eight newborns to their bed with cheese cloths around their waists to keep them from getting out of their cribs. They said she blocked the door with a chair from the outside for hours because she didn’t want the babies to bother her while she napped. The women also claim Octomom allowed her six older children, ages 6 to 11, to physically abuse the younger ones. In some cases, the nannies allege the younger children got black eyes and bruises. Within the last two weeks, La Habra police detectives called one of the nannies into the station for an interview. She told investigators it wasn’t just physical abuse she witnessed—it was also sexual. “(One of the boys) would take (his sibling) away and take her to another area. And he would be touching her. I told Nadya everything. She never did (anything). ‘It’s okay, don’t worry about it.’ That was her attitude,” said the woman. In 2010, the two women said they were so worried about the octuplets, they wrote an anonymous letter and placed it in every mailbox on Suleman’s street. In it, they begged “whoever can help” to “please have social services check Nadya’s [sic] home. There are things going on in the home that need attention right away. The octuplets are not safe. You will be sorry for not checking out now if something bad happens later.” A couple who lives on Suleman’s former street said they weren’t surprised by the contents of the letter. “It made me sick to my stomach,” said the ex-neighbor. “We’re very frustrated because Nadya appears as one thing on the news and on talk shows and yet we witness everything first hand and it’s nothing like it’s shown on TV.” The woman’s husband said, “We hear the way she talks to her kids. It’s verbal abuse.” The couple joined three other neighbors and mailed a copy of the note to Child Protective Services and called police. La Habra police have spent weeks interviewing witnesses and have completed their investigation into the alleged abuse. An officer told Butler he plans to send the case to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office within the next several days. It will be up to the D.A. to file charges. So much for that confidentiality agreement. SMH at these broads waiting to snitch for a sh!tty job as Octomom’s nanny to begin with. This sounds horrible. We pray that those kids are not being treated. The D.A. had better be investigating this. How the hell do you tie your kids to their beds? And even worse, who lets their children be sexually abused???

A Dallas woman who beat her 2-year-old daughter and glued the toddler’s hands to a wall because she was struggling with potty training was sentenced Friday to 99 years in prison. Family members in the courtroom sobbed loudly as the judge announced Elizabeth Escalona’s punishment. Escalona pleaded guilty in July to felony injury to a child, but her mother and sister had asked the court for leniency on her behalf. Dallas County prosecutor Eren Price said the 23-year-old mother of five had not taken responsibility for her actions. “Elizabeth lies to hide the evil,” Price said. Defense attorney Angie N’Duka repeated that Escalona was not a monster and that she was deserving of probation or a short sentence. “She is no monster. She can be redeemed. She can be helped,” N’Duka said during closing arguments. N’Duka said Escalona asked, “What about my children?” after the sentence was announced. Price said Escalona will be eligible for parole in 30 years. N’Duka said she plans to appeal. Escalona’s family has acknowledged their dismay and anger following the attack, but her sister and her mother nonetheless asked the judge for leniency.
