Chris Soules Criminal Record: An In-Depth Look at His Troubled Past

In the most stunning celebrity news story of the week, Chris Soules has been arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal car crash that left one individual dead. As previously detailed, the Season 19 Bachelor was driving his pickup truck on Sunday night when he rear-ended a tractor on a road near his farm in Iowa. Soules dialed 911 and reported that a man had been thrown out of the tractor and was now lying in a ditch, bleeding from the mouth… … but then he drove away and refused to let police officers into his home until they obtained a search warrant. Several hours after he crashed into 68-year old Kenneth Mosher and killed him, Soules was finally taken into custody and charged with the aforementioned crime. Authorities say cans of beer were found in Soules’ car, although it’s probable that too many hours elapsed between the time of the accident and the time of his blood test for the latter to turn up positive for alcohol. Still, pending an investigation, Soules may also be charged with involuntary manslaughter at some point. For now, he’s free on $10,000 bond. This incident, of course, is as serious as it gets; through his actions, whether by complete accident or whether his judgment was impaired in some way, Chris Soules took a life. However, if you  watch The Bachelor online  and/or have followed Soules’ reality TV career ever since his days as a contestant on Andy Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette, you’re likely aware that Soules has frequently run afoul of the law. There’s nothing in his past this severe. But there’s enough on record that could impact how this case is handled going forward. Let’s take a look at all Soules has allegedly done, shall we? In 2001, he was charged on two separate occasions for being a minor in possession of alcohol. In January of 2002, he was cited for unlawful use of a license. Later in 2002, he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after running a stop sign. (NOTE: this incident was eventually amended from leaving the scene due to defective brakes.) In 2005, he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated (Iowa’s term for DUI), after which he was fined $500; given a 60-day jail sentence; a 58-day suspended jail sentence; and a year of probation. Moreover, between the years of 2000 and 2012, Soules received a total of seven speeding violations. On their own, of course, none of these arrests or run-ins with the law are all that serious. But that’s a pretty long list for one individual to have accumulated, let alone one individual whose history of driving, drinking and irresponsibility may have finally caught up with him. In deadly fashion. View Slideshow: 20 Celebrities Who Very Likely Killed Someone E! News spoke to legal expert Troy Slaten to determine what sort of legal ramifications Soules could face in light of his latest charges and his lengthy criminal record. “What it looks like right now, he is facing what is called a Class D felony, which is leaving the scene of an accident causing death,” Slaten says . “Leaving the scene of an accident causing death is, in and of itself, a felony.” What if tests do come back that show Soules was over the legal drinking limit? What if his blood-alcohol content is above .08? “When somebody has a prior conviction for DUI, that can mean a couple of things,” Slaten explains, going into detail as follows: “It can change a case of vehicular homicide or vehicular manslaughter into murder, and here’s why: Normally when we talk about murder, there has to be some sort of malice or evil intent. “Getting in an accident is usually not evil… but when somebody has been convicted of DUI [in the past], they’re under a greater understanding of the dangers of drinking and driving because [they’ve] been through DUI classes and special alcohol education.” Makes sense, right? And it’s hard to argue with the logic behind these guidelines, no? The Iowa State Patrol is looking into whether alcohol played a role in the fatal crash. If so, prosecutors may cite “malice” due to Soules’ perceived knowledge of what happens when you drink and drive. They could say Soules showed an “indifference to human life” by once again getting behind the wheel after imbibing, according to Slaten, would could result in a MURDER charge. Soules was arraigned (see photo above) on Tuesday, which confirms he’s facing criminal charges. He also could face civil liability on behalf on the victim’s family. Mosher was a father of two and is also a grandfather. Sources say these relatives do not blame Soules for what happened, but that opinion could change if they learn alcohol was in his system. For now, Soules has simply issued a very straightforward statement through his spokesman. It reads: Chris Soules was involved in an accident Monday evening (April 24) in a rural part of Iowa near his home. He was devastated to learn that Kenneth Mosher, the other person in the accident, passed away.   His thoughts and prayers and with Mr. Mosher’s family.

JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers Vacation In Fiji: See The Pics!

Are JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers actually going strong? The Bachelorette duo had their PDA on for some Instagram pictures of a romantic getaway to Fiji, but are they for real? Given the never-ending rumors about the state of their relationship , it’s difficult to understand what story JoJo and Jordan are selling to keep the dough coming in from their stint on the reality series.  Both JoJo and Jordan hit up Instagram to share pictures of the vacation, and they looked like they were having an awesome time.  The picture above looks like an ad campaign for some sort of his and her swimwear line. Right? It is pretty crazy how many people thought these two would be over within. It’s now been over a year since they first met and they seem happier than ever.  Their wedding is still very much on the horizon, but could they still go the way of the flip phone? The thing about Bachelor Nation couples is that they can appear to be smiling for the cameras, but then you hear about their relationship ending a few days later.  Hopefully, we’re wrong, and they will make it down the aisle. Hey, the franchise would probably look like the worst way of finding love if another couple bit the bullet.  Ever since meeting on The Bachelorette Season 12 last year, it has been as clear as day there was something between Fletcher and Rodgers.  But rumors can ruin a relationship. Will they be able to defy the odds and live together for a long and prosperous relationship? The producers are probably hoping so.  There were rumblings that the pair could be getting a televised wedding late last year, but nothing every materialized.  They have been less prominent in the media since The Bachelor Season 21 debuted. That could be attributed to Corinne Olympios hogging all the Bachelor Nation spotlight.  What do you think about all of this? Sound off below! Sugar Bear Reacts to June Shannon Weight Loss: HOLY $HIT!!!!!

We've documented some impressive feats of celebrity weight loss over the years. Al Roker, John Goodman and Jonah Hill come to mind. Simply put, however, we've never seen a body transformation before quite like that of June Shannon. And it's clear we aren't alone. In the following clip from this Friday’s Mama June: From Not to Hot , the former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star heads to her ex-home in McIntyre, Georgia to flaunt her new figure for ex-husband Sugar Bear. (The couple split in September of 2014 and share custody of Alana Thompson.) Shannon’s personal trainer, Kenya Crooks, and her daughters come along for support.  “Just being back in McIntrye brings back a lot of bad memories. People who haven’t seen me in a couple of years are going to be shocked,” Shannon tells the camera, adding: “Like, what the f-ck am I doing here? “That’s the house that I used to live in with the kids when Alana was little. Yeah, they did a lot of work to the house and it looks better, but it’s still the same damn house. That house doesn’t serve good memories.” Shannon then spots Sugar Bear and says she's “nervous.” How will he react to the woman in front of him? The following clip then depicts Shannon’s legs as she exits the car in a long red dress, along with Sugar Bear’s reaction in a confessional. “Oh, sh-t,” he says. Shannon formerly weighed approximately 460 pounds; then she underwent gastric sleeve surgery and stuck to an intense diet and exercise regimen to slim WAY down. She also endured several plastic surgeries, including excess skin removal on her neck and arms, along with a tummy tuck and a boob job. Check out the season finale sneak peek below, courtesy of Entertainment Tonight, now!

Dancing With the Stars Results: Who Got the Boot on Vegas Week?

Who got the boot on Dancing with the Stars, and who lived to dance another week after some good, bad and ugly Vegas Week performances? As always, it came down to the wire as the contenders are starting to distance themselves from the pretenders of the Season 24 crew. Not going home? Heather Morris, the former Glee star and Beyonce backup dancer who has critics saying Dancing with the Stars is rigged . It’s not, but she is quite good. With per partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy out at least a week due to an injury, she and sub Alan Burston did not miss a beat on Monday. The two performed a tango to Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” which had the judges (and those who remember the classic music video) floored. Heather and Alan earned a 33 out of 40, tying them with Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev, who performed a samba to Ricky Martin. Kerrigan is breaking a leg , but only in the figurative sense, so far; Nick Viall, on the other hand, has yet to find a post-Bachelor groove. Nick and Peta Murgatroyd struggled in rehearsals, and while the judges offered some kind comments, their score was a modest 26. Tying that total were Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess , who went down faster than his hand on her waist during the infamous premiere. They were tied with Simone Biles last week, so falling back into a tie with Nick and Erika Jayne, who also scored a 26, was not ideal. At the very bottom of the scoreboard, though, were two other celeb couples: Mr. T and Kym Herjavec, along with Charo and Keo Motsepe. Mr. T’s foxtrot was a hit, but not a scoring hit, and while Charo threatened to quit last week, she may get her wish as both scored 24. Last to dance Monday night? Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, whose foxtrot earned them two 8s and two 9s, and sole possession of first place with 34. Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater, David Ross and Lindsay Arnold, and Simone Biles and Sasha Farbery, all performed solid routines. Solid, but not great, landing them in the middle of the pack. Simone, in particular, struggled to bring the personality to match her athleticism. All of the above were safe on this evening, as the bottom of the group who you would expect to be sweating it out sure as heck was. The two couples in jeopardy: Charo and Keo , along with Nick and Peta. No Bachelor star has ever gone home this fast (Melissa Rycroft is the only one to win it). View Slideshow: Dancing with the Stars: 9 Raciest Moments in Show History History was on Nick’s side, it turned out. As it turned out, Charo and Keo were the ones eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, which prompted this interesting quote from her: “Bruno, I’ll see you in the parking lot!”  Okay then … Bruno, you want to give me low scores and kick me off the show bruh? Then you can cash me ousside, how bow dah ?

Jenelle Evans Discusses Building a Blended Family With David Eason

It’s only been two months since Jenelle Evans welcomed her third child , but the Teen Mom 2 star is already planning her next move on the family front. Jenelle is engaged to David Eason these days, and she’s happily addressed questions about her upcoming nuptials and the unique joys and challenges of raising a blended family in a number of new interviews. Asked about her wedding planning process by MTV, Jenelle revealed that there’s some disagreement as to exactly when she and David should tie the knot: “We haven’t set a date, but we want to get married either this summer or next summer depending on how quickly we plan it,” Jenelle said last month. “I’m saying next summer, but he’s saying this summer.” As for the theme and decor, Evans had this to say: “We know we want a rustic-themed wedding, nothing too fancy. Something simple, maybe backyard and outdoorsy.” She added: “We want just close friends and family, not anything crazy.” Of course the really interesting questions surrounding Jenelle and David’s forthcoming marriage have nothing to do with mason jars and Edison light bulbs. Jenelle has three kids by three different men, and David has two children from previous relationships. On top of that, Jenelle’s mother has custody of her eldest son, Jace. All of this means there will be a lot of external input from third (and fourth, and fifth …) parties on basically every family decision that David and Jenelle make. So how does Jenelle picture the future for her blended family? Well, despite the ongoing difficulty of custody issues, she says sees everyone living under one roof without any issue. “Jace recently asked me: ‘When can I live with you again?’” Jenelle tells People magazine. “I said: ‘Well, hopefully by the summer you’ll be living here.’ But that’s all I told him – I don’t want him to know too much right now ’cause it’s really detrimental.” Asked by a fan on Twitter if Eason’s daughter will ever live with her full-time, Jenelle replied, “She already does.”  She added, however, that for legal reasons, she’s not allowed to discuss custody of Eason’s son, Kaden. View Slideshow: 13 Shocking Jenelle Evans Facts Even We Didn’t Know! But far from seeing her and her fiance’s many baby mamas and daddies as a challenge, Jenelle says Eason’s relationship with his kids is one of the things that attracted her to him: “I want to marry David because he’s a great father, he’s a great best friend, he’s faithful, he’s loyal to me,” she recently told MTV, adding: “It’s the best relationship I’ve ever had.”

Luke Pell and Danielle Lombard: Dating?!?

If you don’t find love on your season of The Bachelor/The Bachelorette , is it best to stick to dating other participants of the shows in Bachelor Nation? That appears to be the question Luke Pell and Danielle Lombard were asking when they started getting up close and personal . For the record, there is no official confirmation yet about whether they are a thing. However, the rumors went into overdrive when the couple attended the Music Lounge by iHeartMedia + BMG Media Event with fellow Bachelor Nation member, Vinny Ventiera.  People at the event claimed that Pell and Lombard were all over each other, so it definitely sounds like they are well on their way to becoming the next couple in the franchise.  Pell apparently debunked rumors of them dating after an interview with US Weekly, but it sure seems like the duo are trying to keep their relationship as low-key as possible.  It’s difficult to imagine their relationship flourishing if Pell was successful at being the suitor on The Bachelor Season 21. Yes, there were rumblings that he was all set to film the promotional campaign for the series.  View Slideshow: Nick Viall as The Bachelor: Twitter Reacts! That all fell apart when it was announce Nick Viall would take on the coveted role and Pell was left out to pasture. It was a random turn of events, but it drummed up a lot of interest for the show.  Pell, on the other hand, was not impressed with the eleventh-hour switcheroo and revealed his shock at Viall’s casting in interviews. If it really went down the way Pell said it did, it’s understandable that he would be annoyed.  For what it’s worth, Nick’s season was actually pretty good. It was full of drama (thanks to Corinne!), and the contestants were pretty memorable.  Nick eventually chose Vanessa Grimaldi as the woman he would propose to. It was cute but expected.  What do you think about all of this? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Bachelor in Paradise Season 4: Cast Members Who Need to Be There

Lauren Bushnell Wishes Ben Higgins Happy Birthday: Are They Still a Thing?!?

Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins are still together … for now.  As with any couple in Bachelor Nation, there have been conflicting reports about the state of their relationship for quite some time. Some fans even thought they were finished with one another.  Now, Bushnell has taken to Instagram to wish Ben a happy birthday in a somewhat revealing post.  “Happy birthday babe!!!!!” she captioned the below picture.  “I’m so thankful for this life together. Although sometimes rocky you always hold my hand and support me through it, always with a smile on your face. You deserve the world, especially today.

Nick Viall vs. Jax Taylor: Unexpected Feud Alert!

Sometimes people who have the most in common have trouble getting along for the simple reason that they each see their worst qualities reflected in one another. It’s probably why Quentin Tarantino has beef with fellow fast-talking movie geek Spike Lee. It might even be have something to do with the fact that Donald Trump hates fellow rage-aholic white guy Alec Baldwin so much more than all the other comics who roast him. And it’s definitely the reason that Vanderpump Rules’ resident d-bag Jax Taylor can’t get along with fellow reality douche Nick Viall: As you probably know by now,  Viall got engaged to Vanessa Grimaldi  on last night’s season finale of The Bachelor. But while Vanessa may have fallen head-over-heels for Nick, it seems Jax would rather give him a heel to the head. It seems the famous-ish bros butted heads at a recent event to promote a mutual friend’s new hotel/nightclub venture. According to Taylor, he asked Viall to pose for a pic to help promote the business, and Nick rudely refused. “I go, ‘First of all, buddy, don’t toot your own horn, I have no f—ing idea who you are,’” Jax recently told Bravo’s Daily Dish blog. Hilariously, Jax proceeded to go off on Viall for, of all things, starring on a “disposable reality show”: “I know you’re on The Bachelor — okay, good for you, great,” Taylor said. “You’re on a disposable reality show that you’ll be gone in five minutes and no one will know who you are, so you want to get your five minutes of fame in now.” In case he hadn’t already made his feelings perfectly clear, Jax added: “I just think he’s a d-bag,”  Yes, when this is the same Jax Taylor who, despite pulling in over half a million a year, still gets arrested for stealing sunglesses . The same Jax who regularly claims ownership of his girlfriend’s boobs because he paid for her breast implants. When that guy is calling you a d-bag, it may be time to re-assess your own douchiness. Hopefully Vanessa is going into this thing with her eyes wide open… View Slideshow: Vanessa Grimaldi: The Bachelor Favorite!!
