Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, More Light Up Z100 Jingle Ball

Kelly Clarkson delivers jaw-dropping set, as LMFAO, Gym Class Heroes, David Guetta and viral sensations Karmin help fill jam-packed MSG lineup. By Henna Kathiya Lady Gaga performs at Jingle Ball on Friday Photo: Stephen Lovekin/ Getty Images NEW YORK — Without skipping a beat, Z100’s annual Jingle Ball kicked off at exactly 7:30 p.m. Friday night to an arena full of screaming fans. The head-turning lineup featured Demi Lovato , Kelly Clarkson, LMFAO , Pitbull, Foster the People, Mindless Behavior, the Script David Guetta , Gym Class Heroes and Lady Gaga , who brought some of the year’s biggest hits to the Madison Square Garden stage. ZI00’s Elvis Duran and the Morning Crew personally came onstage to introduce the night’s most-anticipated performance. “Years ago, there was a young girl in the audience watching the Z100 Jingle Ball [and] she told her mom she wanted to be a singer,” Duran said to the squealing concertgoers. “Three years ago, she opened up the show with her hit Just Dance. It gives me pleasure to say that a lifelong Z100 fan has now become one of the most important artists of our generation.” With the crowd chanting “Gaga,” the New York City native opened with Edge of Glory. But in true Lady Gaga fashion, she didn’t appear onstage right away. Instead, she emerged from a Christmas tree mid-song, decked out in a studded leather outfit. She then belted her way through “Bad Romance.” “When I was 11, I came to this very concert and told my mom I wanted to be a singer, and guys … here I am,” she said, launching into “Just Dance.” “Some people thought I was just going to be a one-hit wonder,” Gaga continued as she moved on to mega-hits “Poker Face,” “Telephone” and “Judas.” The pop diva then paid homage to the holidays with a naughty rendition of “White Christmas,” gyrating her way across a holiday-themed set, complete with antlers, Christmas trees and lights. Mother Monster danced through “Born This Way,” before closing out the show with her latest, the Fernando Garibay-produced “Marry the Night” , for which she channeled the video by changing into a a hospital gown and carting an IV stand onstage. As the song ended, fireworks went off and red confetti shot out all over the jubilant crowd. Jingle Ball 2011’s stellar lineup was more than just Gaga, of course. During a short break in the show, fans took to their phones and began tweeting furiously in anticipation of another act: Demi Lovato. Finally, after what seemed like years in tween time, Big Time Rush introduced the 19-year-old, who took the stage looking classy in an all-black gem-studded blazer. Lovato, joined by her backup dancers, opened with “All Night Long,” and followed up with her new single, Give Your Heart a Break , to the delight of screaming Lovatics. Demi turned serious, though, for her comeback ballad “Skyscraper,” and the whole room sang along. She closed out her set by ripping off her blazer, all the better to shimmy to and sing the finale, “I’m Broken.” “Thank you guys!” she told her adoring fans. “You all have been so amazing!” Turns out Kelly Clarkson, who took it back with her massive uptempo hit “Since You Been Gone,” is also a Lovatic. “I’ve been waiting for a long time to do a duet with Demi,” Kelly said. “Wow, she can sing her butt off!” she added as Demi returned for the classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Needless to say, the two power singers … killed it. (Lovato has long cited Clarkson as an inspiration.) Clarkson then switched gears, dipping into her latest album, Stronger , for the sassy “Mr. Know It All,” and chart-toppers like “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Gym Class Heroes opened with their staple “Cupid’s Chokehold,” but the hip-hop/rock band also rolled out numbers from their new album, The Papercut Chronicles. They said goodbye with frontman Travie McCoy rapping his solo hit “Billionaire,” as the crowd eagerly sang Bruno Mars’ hook. Reality star Khloe Kardashian was one of the night’s guest hosts, and she told MTV News she has “a passion for music.” Dressed in LMFAO-approved leopard tights, Kardashian introduced electro-pop duo, who were short one party-rocker. “SkyBlu couldn’t be here with us tonight because he hurt himself wiggling,” RedFoo explained. Although he was without his partner in crime, RedFoo held it down, kicking off with “Sorry for Party Rocking” and dancing with two giant plastic zebras in the background. Foo went on to perform “Shots Shots” and “I’m in Miami” (a New York version, of course). He finished up with explosive — there were fireworks — versions of the LMFAO hits “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” as fans wiggled in their seats. Youtube sensations Karmin also performed — but not onstage. They surprised everyone by rocking right in the crowd. Share your Jingle Ball concert reviews in the comments below! Rachel Crow Gives Thanks, Makes Judges Into Believers

Do you believe in Rachel Crow? This young X Factor finalist did all she could last night to earn votes and praise from the judges, covering a Yolanda Adams single with the same pluck and fire she brings each week to the competition. At least we think that’s what happened. It was a bit difficult to actually see Rachel on stage, what with all the backup dancers and confetti flying around. This may have been an overly staged performance. But Paula Abdul referred to Crow as an “angel,” while Nicole Scherzinger labeled her a “bright light.” Watch the audition and judge for yourself now: Rachel Crow – I Believe How does Crow compare to Melanie Amaro? Watch the latter’s latest performance HERE and decide who has the better shot at winning.

Rihanna Performs ‘We Found Love’ Live For First Time

Singer treats U.K. fans to the party song during her O2 Arena stop on Monday. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna Photo: Tabatha Fireman/ WireImage Rihanna hit up the O2 Arena on Monday for the second night of a three-night run at the famed London concert venue, and she had a special treat for those in attendance. In footage posted on Idolator , the singer wraps up her classic track “Umbrella,” and then takes a quick breath before telling the excited crowd, “I love you so much. Thank you.” Next, the opening notes of “We Found Love” kick in, setting off a party vibe. This was the first time Rih has performed the Talk That Talk single live in the lead-up to her November 21 album release. In the clip, she bounces around the stage with her backup dancers, shouting to the room, “Make some f—ing noise!” As the song wraps, glitter falls from the rafters with Rihanna descending from the stage to close out the show. After the concert, fans began tweeting positive feedback about the star’s performance. “@Rihanna killed it tonight at the o2 one of the best gigs ever!” @chaders92 wrote. “Never wanted it to end #LOUDtourUK” @ZeniKristinaN added, “@Rihanna killed it tonight! And yess we made HISTORY on this very night! #LOUDtour2011” Excitement over the show didn’t let up with @Charlie_Dybell writing, “@Rihanna was immense. Girl can put on a mother of a show! #LondonO2fiveof10” “We Found Love” Is the first single released off Rihanna’s sixth album. Last Friday, she dropped the Dr. Luke-produced track “You da One.” “This is one of those records, it becomes very addictive,” she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show about her second single. “To me, it’s very infectious: the more you listen to it, the more you want to listen to it. It had a reggae vibe, but it’s a sweet little love letter. I love the record. It’s kind of dirty, I love it.” What do you think of Rihanna’s “We Found Love”? Tell us in the comments! ‘X Factor’ Mini-MC Astro Channels Eminem

Chris Rene and Rachel Crow also earn high praise from the mentors. By Adam Graham L.A. Reid on “X Factor” Photo: FOX Youngsters stole the night when “The X Factor” went to Hollywood on Wednesday (November 9), with the top 11 contestants singing songs from the movies. Well, maybe Songs That Were at One Time Used in Movies would be more appropriate, since few people associate Coldplay’s “Fix You” with the Owen Wilson starrer “You, Me and Dupree” or U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” with the Julia Roberts/ Richard Gere flick “Runaway Bride.” Regardless, Astro, the 15-year-old rapper with enough confidence to fuel a rocket ship to the moon, soared with his rendition of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” which kept the Oscar-winning song’s structure but saw all new verses — including a shout-out to boxing legend Joe Frazier, who died this week — from the pint-size spitter. “You are a champion tonight,” Nicole Scherzinger told him, while Simon Cowell seemed equally impressed with Astro’s performance and the show’s ability to clear the use of the notoriously protective Eminem’s song. Elsewhere, 13-year-old Rachel Crow was compared by Cowell to a “mini-little Beyonc

“Holdin On To Black Metal” is far and away the best jam on My Morning Jacket’s new Circuital, so it stands to reason that it would be the first track from the album to get a big video. In the clip, the band become some weird light eyes version of themselves, before they are set free to rock the shit out of a very large crowd. Apparently kids didn’t sing the backup vocals here: It was an army of black… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : prefixmag Discovery Date : 02/08/2011 15:21 Number of articles : 2

Sade Keeps It Super Smooth On NY Tour Stop

‘Soldier of Love’ singer performed classics and recent hits after John Legend warmed up the crowd. By Rebecca Thomas Sade (file) Photo: Gus Stewart/ Getty Images UNIONDALE, New York — If the name Sade only conjures up a melancholy Diddy-Dirty Money lyric (from “Ass on the Floor”), then her reemergence on Tuesday night at Nassau Coliseum, a week into the North American leg of her 2011 world tour might not seem significant. But it’s been a decade since the iconic, often reclusive singer hit the road, and her presence onstage seemed to prove that pop still has its constants. Over the course of about 90 minutes, the Nigerian-born Brit waded through a discography that spans nearly 30 years and never seems to collect dust. In fact, her opener, “Soldier of Love” is a pounding battle hymn that shares little of the DNA of her ’80s classics. Dressed in all-black and perched atop strappy stilettos, Sade whipped up the adoring crowd, marching on to the stage and punctuating the song’s insistent drum line with kick steps. At 52, she is almost as willowy now — and still sporting the same slick ponytail, scarlet-stained lips and hoop earrings — as she is in those early MTV music videos for standards like “Smooth Operator,” which proved to be a multigenerational crowd-pleaser on Tuesday. And her smoky alto had a vocal range deceptively broader than her records might suggest. Supported by her longtime band/collaborators, Sade shimmied and kept the pace in flux, going from introspective ballads, like “Kiss of Life”(from Love Deluxe ) and “Pearls,” to midtempo cuts, like the roots-tinged “Love Is Stronger Than Pride” and “Sweetest Taboo.” This was notable because she’s built a catalog lined with sleepy tunes seemingly designed to ease you through the stages of heartbreak. While the boomer contingent came to their feet whenever the star dipped back to her ’85 Diamond Life debut (some even danced junior-prom style in the aisles), others were excited to hear her work from 2000’s Lovers Rock . If Picasso had his Blue Period , that album could be considered Sade’s Red, Yellow and Green period: The songstress had fallen in love and settled in Jamaica’s Montego Bay and seemed to absorb the culture, even sporting the signature Rasta colors on the album’s cover . She joined her backup singers for the blissful “All About Our Love” and demonstrated why she’s worn the crown for so long on “King of Sorrow.” Before signing off with another Rock cut, “By Your Side,” Sade recalled coming to NYC in her 20s, just another girl and her band trying to make it, and jokingly compared herself to Crocodile Dundee. It was probably only fitting that Maxwell was sitting just a few rows back from the stage on Tuesday night. The crooner is arguably one of the few who can even blink in Sade’s direction. John Legend is another, and he showed why during his opening set, throwing himself into smashes like “Ordinary People” and a delicious new arrangement of his “Green Light.” Have you seen Sade in concert? The Voice Recap: Let the LIVE Finals Begin!

For a show that’s branded itself as the anti-American Idol, The Voice sure felt like American Idol last night, with eight finalists singing solo for votes. There was even a girl from American Idol closing out the night! Eight of the 16 finalists performed Tuesday, with the rest on tap next week. While the show has lost considerable steam since its premiere, due largely to its complicated format, these performances were strong. Let’s break them down! Raquel Castro – Blow (The Voice) Raquel Castro performed Ke$ha “Blow,” a song notable mostly for its beat and its video, as Ke$ha cannot actually sing, channeling mentor Christina. Mama Aguilera, along with the rest of the panel, loved it. America should do, especially coming from the youngest and smallest Voice cast member. Jared Blake – Use Somebody (The Voice) Jared Blake went with “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon, a fitting choice, even if Blake said that Jared struggled with being either country or rock. The guitar tossing and strutting took care of that debate: “You’ve shaved your head, you’ll never get through a metal detector – you’re a rock guy.” Beverly McClellan – I’m The Only One (The Voice) Beverly McClellan sang Melissa Ethridge’s “I’m the Only One,” with enthusiasm and energy that you couldn’t help but embrace. Especially for Adam. He lamented letting her get away in the previous round, after which Christina bragged, after which s-bombs were dropped. Pretty standard fare: Dia Frampton – Heartless (The Voice) Dia Frampton’s acoustic interpretation of Kanye West’s “Heartless” got a lot of praise for being original (Kris Allen and The Fray may beg to differ). Still, that’s not her fault, as she let loose like never before for her, and Cee Lo promised to tell Kanye PERSONALLY about it. That’s high praise! Xenia – Price Tag (The Voice) One-named Xenia took on “Price Tag” but looked uncomfortable up there. If there was a performance that wasn’t up to par, this may have been it. Will she stick around after this? It would be something of an upset, as she was almost hard to watch at times (we feel bad saying it, but it’s true). Lily Elise – Big Girls Don’t Cry (The Voice) Lily Elise sang Fergie, and despite the fact that “Big Girls Don’t Cry” is a somber, poignant track, the backup dancers may have stolen the show. Seriously, you gotta check out the dancing mannequins. They don’t really fit the format of the show, but they sure made this a lot more fun! Patrick Thomas – I Hope You Dance (The Voice) Patrick Thomas took the stage with Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” and did his best to channel his inner Scotty McCreery up on stage. His performance was technically sound and but very safe. Sound familiar? Hey, it worked pretty well for McCreery a couple of weeks ago … Frenchie Davis – When Love Takes Over (The Voice) Frenchie Davis ended the night with David Guetta’s “When Love Takes Over,” and managed to show off her range without trying too, too hard. She’s the most powerful singer in the competition, according to Blake, and he’s probably not the only one. She was pretty terrific out there. Thoughts? Who was the best on The Voice? Who are you most looking forward to seeing on next week’s show? Discuss!

Kelis’ Dress Comes With a View of the Day

Not that the view is all that amazing…This is no million dollar shit you’d see on the HGTV or anything but she claims her Milkshake Brings All the Boys To the Yard and from my understand of urban-speak- that means she gives superhead like she was SUPERHEAD- but from my experience any self-proclaiming good-head giver is usually shitty at giving head….you see every single girl I have ever met has told me she sucks dick like a pro and unfortunately, I haven’t had my dick sucked by every single girl I’ve met (I’m talking to you girl at the sandwich place), but those of whom who have made such claims to me and did end up sucking my dick were never amazing, guys just tell bitches they give the best head when they are gettin head at that time, cuz it is the best head they are getting at that moment, it’s some heat of the moment shit we say hoping you’ll swallow like the whore you clearly are, don’t take it personally, you’re the one with a dick in your mouth….and don’t take the words of encouragement to heart bitches…cuz when it’s coming from the owner of that dick, motherfucker is your number one fan, your fucking personal cheerleader until he cums…. That said, her face is battered, so bitch better be good at suckin’ dick when she looks like this…one of those things she probably practiced so much her nose fell off like she was Michael Jackson or some shit…

Shakira’s Ass Performing of the Day

Shakira performed at some low level event recently and who really gives a fuck….Someone needs to teach this bitch a little “How To Make It In America” cuz I don’t like how easy her transition from Colombia was. She must of known pretty powerful drug runners, who sold to pretty powerful entertainment people, cuz American Dreams she’s living don’t happen without serious corruption and nudity…. I’m just tired of seeing her one trick, even if that one trick is an ass shake…I’ve been to stripclubs regularly and seeing the same routine from the same bitch, over and over again, fucking sucks…and that’s when the bitch is naked…so you can imagine how I feel about this pictures…if you really want to take the time to care about me…I think you should…it makes me feel loved…and less of the shell of a man I am…. But her backup dancer I could get used to watching pop, lock and booty shake….Give her her time to shine you hog.
