It’s official. Following a change in ascension rules , boy or girl, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be the next heir to the British throne. The leaders of the 16 governments with Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state have unanimously agreed to change the laws in their realms to allow this. Under current laws, the immediate heir is the first-born son of the monarch. Going forward, the immediate heir will be the first-born child of the monarch. That means if Prince William and Kate Middleton have a girl as their first child, she will be the future queen, regardless of whether one or more sons follow. British Prime Minister David Cameron said, “Put simply, if the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were to have a little girl, that girl would one day be our queen.” Cameron personally applauded the move, adding that the UK stresses gender equality in all facets of life, making this a logical change to their traditions. Queen Elizabeth II’s son, Prince Charles, is next in line for the throne, followed by Will. The royal hunk will be the king of more than a dozen countries. Those nations are Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Papua New Guinea, St. Christopher & Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tuvalu, Barbados, Grenada, Solomon Islands, St. Lucia and the Bahamas. One of her closest musical collaborators, Missy Elliott, tweeted , “Aaliyah til this very day u r still in Your own Lane! Ure music is Timeless! We miss u!” Fellow Aaliyah confidant Timbaland offered a simple, “#ripaaliyah miss you babygirl.” Another friend, rapper Q-Tip, couldn’t believe how long it’s been since his compatriot passed. “RIP 2 my girl Aaliyah,” he wrote . “Man seems like yesterday … Aaliyah and I were very close. Gia Allemand ( Bachelor Pad ) and Ryan Anderson (Orlando Magic) are dating! Talk about a slam dunk, or a better basketball/love metaphor! The 27-year-old model said that “fate stepped in” when she was introduced to Ryan while doing a photo shoot in The Bahamas in February. “We ended up hanging out every minute I was able to when I wasn’t working,” says Allemand , who was soon offered a job in The Bahamas. That required her relocation to Florida – where Anderson’s pro team happens to be – in order to “be flown to the Bahamas every weekend.” Allemand, who recently designed a line a bathing suits for The G Stop, says she and the 23-year-old Anderson have been going strong. “Not only was it love at first sight but it seemed like a touch of destiny. ‘Saturday Night Live’ funnyman serves as Chief Shark Officer for Discovery Channel’s annual shark fest. By Eric Ditzian Andy Samberg Photo: MTV News It’s Shark Week , people! It’s that time of year when it’s too damn hot to go outside and we’re all too willing to embrace a shameless and brilliant marketing ploy in which Discovery Channel devotes much of its schedule to the sharp-toothed fishies and we stay glued to the TV because the whole thing honestly is freaking badass. To wit, get ready this week for documentaries called “Shark Feeding Frenzy,” “Sharkman,” “Air Jaws: Sharks of South Africa” and “Top Five Eaten Alive.” Yes, the narration will be heavy on machismo, the soundtracks will veer between horror-movie strings and staccato, annoy-your-neighbors bass lines, and the whole thing will be overseen by Andy Samberg . We’re not exactly sure why, and we’re certainly not complaining, but the “Saturday Night Live” funnyman has been appointed Discovery’s first-ever Chief Shark Officer. Tops among his awesome responsibilities, we found out during a chat with Samberg and his Lonely Islands pals this spring, is the requirement that the CSO taunt all non-CSOs. “Chief Shark Officer! In your face, other dudes!” he cracked. “We’re kind of the Chief Shark brain trust on this,” Jorma Taccone offered. “No, you guys haven’t helped me at all on this,” Samberg shot back with killer instinct. So it’s Samberg and Samberg alone guiding us through the hazards and happiness of Shark Week. Can he handle the pressure? After debuting in 1987, the weeklong block of programming was watched by almost 31 million people last year — the highest-rated shark-themed week in Discovery’s history. Samberg ain’t scared. “I’ve already been in the water with sharks,” he said of a trip to the Bahamas to shoot promotional material for the week. “Did you get to slap five with a shark?” Taccone wanted to know. “Yes, me and a shark slapped five!” Samberg replied. Dave Chappelle’s Block Party in 2004 will go down as one of the coolest outdoor concert experiences of the last ten years. R&B star Jill Scott was one of the featured performers and tore down the stage with Erykah Badu during a rendition of “You Got Me.” Now if you watch footage from the movie (released in 2006) Jill was very pleasant and easy going back stage, even with her pimple named “Herbert”. But in a recent interview with TheHuffingtonPost she admitted that being back stage wasn’t all fun for her. MR : You’re in a certain Dave Chappelle’s Block Party flick. That must have been fun. JS : That was not fun for me. It was a great experience, however it wasn’t fun. The only reason I say that is I typically work a certain kind of way. There were so many people and so much energy that it was hard for me to find a space to just be for a moment, straight from a crowd of people to the stage, which is not normally what I do. I remember being thoroughly exhausted when that was over, but very proud of the outcome. Fox 5 Atlanta has discovered that there was a fifth accuser in the Bishop Eddie Long sexual misconduct case. Centino Kemp never filed a lawsuit and his name was never made public during the case, but apparently Kemp was involved in the recent settlement negotiations with Long and the other accusers. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Kemp is currently recording songs written from the perspective of an angry lover and has Eddie Long’s name tattooed on his wrist with the words: “Never a Mistake, Always a Lesson.” Sources told Fox 5 Atlanta that Kemp is 22 years old and was raised in the Bahamas and met Eddie Long years ago during a visit to New Birth while he was a teenage student in a Florida college. We told you earlier that Elin Nordegren has a new boyfriend in Jamie Dingman , a wealthy American investor. Now we’ve got photo evidence! Evidence of them kissing, no less! The New York Post reports that Jamie Dingman, whose father is billionaire Michael Dingman, has been dating Elin Nordegren for several months. Swedish newspaper Expressen spotted Nordegren and Dingman kissing outside her Stockholm apartment earlier this week.
