That is if a team is willing to sign him. Let Kaep’s lawyer Mark Geragos tell it, there are at least three teams who might want #7’s services: ESPN agreed with Geragos, but was even more specific about the potential for Kaep to end up signed to the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton is having shoulder surgery for the second time in three years, his recovery time is unknown. Having a capable back-up like Kaepernick would be clutch. What about the potential backlash from the mildewed MAGA Panther fans? Well, the team has already signed Kaep’s former kneeling teammate Eric Reid. Obviously, Reid isn’t the lightning rod that Colin is, but he certainly was a good litmus test for owners to gauge fan reaction. We’re not holding our breath in hopes that NFL owners do what’s right, but quarterbacks aren’t growing on trees?
Source: Christian Petersen / Getty Demarcus Cousins Is Getting His Own Showtime Documentary Showtime announced on Friday that they finally have a premiere date for The Resurgence: DeMarcus Cousins , a documentary that will follow the basketball star’s comeback from a career-threatening injury. The film is set to debut on the premium cable network at 8 p.m. on April 13. According to Showtime, The Resurgence is going to provide viewers with “unfettered access” to DeMarcus Cousins throughout his very emotional comeback from a career-threatening Achilles injury, along with his “roller coaster ride through free agency that resulted in a stunning one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors. In a statement released by the network, Stephen Espinoza–chief of the network’s sports programming–said the film “delivers the intimate account and high-stakes drama of one of the most misunderstood men in sports. DeMarcus reveals himself as never before—a relatable man whose fiercely competitive personality, daily struggles and triumphs embody the nature of sport.” The Resurgence is going to include exclusive interviews with teammates, coaches and NBA insiders closest to the story, which includes John Calipari, who coached Cousins at University of Kentucky, former Sacramento Kings’ head coach Mike Malone, Warriors coach Steve Kerr, along with current and former teammates Isaiah Thomas, Matt Barnes, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and more. Since the NBA’s free agency period last summer, the network has released a series of short behind-the-scenes clips online to introduce the project, which includes the moment when Cousins shocked fans by announcing he would join the Warriors for the 2018-’19 season. Source: Michael Zagaris / Getty According to USAToday , the ousted NFL quarterback and the religiously “randomly” drug tested strong safety have reached a settlement in their joint collusion lawsuit against the NFL. The details of the settlement were kept confidential, but you can only imagine the number that the league had to come up with to satisfy both men. They know good-and-damn-well that team owners were almost assuredly banding together to keep Kaep from getting a job. Attorney Mark Geragos broke the news on Twitter this afternoon. “For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL,” Geragos and the NFL said in the statement. “As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. This story is some of the sweetest revenge a white man has ever fallen victim to . According to KOAA , the owner of Prime Time Sports in Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Stephen Martin, has been forced to close the doors for good after 20 years in business. Apparently, Martin was so outraged by Nike’s decision to align themselves with a kneeling Colin Kaepernick that he decided to pull all the Nike product from his shelves.No hats, no socks, no t-shirts, but most importantly, no jerseys. Martin used to carry the official team merchandise for all 32 NFL teams and was the only place in a significantly large area with such a product. “Being a sports store without Nike is kind of like being a milk store without milk or a gas station without gas. How do you do it? They have a monopoly on jerseys,” said Martin. You taste that? The sweet flavor of comeuppance…mmmm, just like grandmama use to make.
