Lloyd Banks Recruits Tony Yayo, Lloyd For ‘Any Girl’ Video

The G-Unit MC says his latest video is inspired by the ’90s flick ‘How to Be a Player.’ By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Shaheem Reid Lloyd and Lloyd Banks Photo: G-Unit Lloyd Banks is taking it back to the jiggy era for his latest video. The G-Unit MC told MTV News that his newest clip, “Any Girl,” is inspired by the ’90s comedy “How to Be a Player.” In the movie, a slick womanizer — played by former MTV VJ Bill Bellamy — juggles his many conquests. “Any Girl” shows Banks trying not to get caught in his web of women. “I’m running through my day-to-day going to see a few of my girls. I got a white girl, I got [a] Spanish girl, a black girl and I’m going to basically lie to them and tell them how much I love them and how much I want to see them,” Banks explained. However, after spending time maneuvering through his ladies, the MC has to eventually face the music. “The girl who’s playing my sister, she’s actually setting me up and she has these same girls coming to see me at the party.” Fellow G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo makes a cameo in the video. He said that even though the visuals are inspired by a film, Banks has plenty of personal experience to pull from. “Banks is … a player for real,” said Yayo. “It’s really his real life story.” Banks isn’t the only ladies man in the video; singer Lloyd also pops up in the clip. The MC broke down how the collaboration came together and said Lloyd wasted no time putting his soulful touch on the track. “He … flew into New York [and] knocked out the record in like 15, 20 minutes,” Banks revealed. The G-Unit rapper said the pair shared a similar hunger to make a memorable collabo. “His work ethic is incredible. He was actually independent at the time so … it was no restraints. It was like, ‘Let’s go!’ ” Lloyd’s studio grind may have impressed musical peers such as Banks, but the crooner maintained that he puts in the work for the fans. “It’s about making the best music for people to listen to,” the singer said. “It’s about entertaining the consumers and ultimately, for me, it’s about connecting.” What are you expecting from the new Lloyd Banks video? Tyra’s 9 Most Unhinged Talk Show Moments

Tomorrow will go down in history as the day the Tyra Banks Show died. The former model premiered her talk series five years ago with great aspirations: She wanted to empower young women, develop an honest relationship with her viewers and maybe, in the process, become a media empress like Oprah. And while she did achieve some entertainment success and empowered a misguided youth or two, the Tyra Banks Show will be remembered most for its loopy host and her crazy ideas. Who else would go undercover as a homeless person to score crack, don a fat suit just for the fun of it, or feel up a guest? The answer: No one. So grab your Kleenex and join Movieline as we remember nine of the most bizarre experiments conducted by Tyra .

By Shaheem Reid Lloyd Banks Photo: MTV News Lloyd Banks says his club smash “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley” (and its remix) — is just the setup. Banks has a lot more material in the cooker. “This is gonna pave the way for my official second single,” Banks told MTV News last week. “We’re gonna hit it right on summer at the beginning. That’s gonna take us through the summer. I got the 50 Cent tour coming up; I’m gonna be on that joint. The first show is in Cleveland [on Friday]. But they can expect that [single] within a couple of weeks. We gonna let the remix bubble through Memorial Day weekend. They can also expect a new record from Tony Yayo as well. We gotta make this a G-Unit summer. “My last album came out, I believe, October of ’06,” he continued. “I just been so eager to get out there and give the people what they expect from Lloyd Banks. If they think ‘Beamer, Benz, or Bentley’ is it, wait until you hear my second and third official single. It’s definitely gonna be crazy.” His G-Unit partner Tony Yayo just put out his 50 Cent-featured “Pass the Patr

Lloyd Banks Influenced By Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake On Next Album

‘A lot of people don’t know I write more than rap music,’ MC says. By Shaheem Reid Lloyd Banks Photo: MTV News Lloyd Banks may be joining the recent ranks of Jay-Z ( The Blueprint 3 ) Raekwon The Chef ( Only Built 4 Cuban Linx … Pt. 2 ) and Capone-N-Noreaga ( The War Report 2 ) by making his album a sequel — The Hunger For More 2. Banks posted the title on his Twitter page, although the tweet has since been deleted and the G-Unit said the title is not official. Still, fans are encouraged that Banks is thinking about taking it back to his best effort. In a recent chat with Mixtape Daily , Banks said that going overseas on tour with the G-Unit for two months would be “dangerous” because he was going to devote his free time in the hotel room tp writing his LP. “It’s gonna be dangerous for me, because I’m gonna come home and record anywhere between 40 and 50 records, literally,” he said. “Hopefully I’ll have the bulk of my album from that.” The youngest member of the Unit also said that his sound would be expanding past the gritty beats you hear on his mixtape. Banks wants to add hit records to the mix after hearing what his former Interscope labelmates like Will.I.Am and Timabaland brought to the table. “The music overseas, the party atmospheres — it’s incredible,” Banks offered. “Don’t get me wrong, I love the club scenes in New York city and the States, [but] when you go overseas, you might hear ‘Toniiight’s gonna be a good night.’ You’re hearing that in the club 10 times. So if you didn’t know that joint, I come back over here like, ‘You don’t know that record. You’re buggin’ — that’s poppin!’ That record, Justin Timberlake, Timberland, Lady Gaga — you’re hearing so many different records, it makes you want to expand as an artist and get records that’s enjoyed by all people. They’re definitely gonna hear those kind of records from me too. “A lot of people don’t know I write more than rap music,” he continued. “I can write R&B records. I can write hit records — just put it like that. Hopefully I’ll be writing for a few more people in the future.” Lamborghini Lloyd also says that he would possibly put the call into Will.I.Am for beats. “I chopped it up with him a couple of times,” Banks said. “I seen him in L.A. and he wanted to work on the tail end of Rotten Apple. But between me touring, it was crazy. I didn’t get a chance to hook up with him. But hopefully we can make something happen on this record.” Related Artists Lloyd Banks

Jessica Simpson Works With Billy Corgan On New Song

‘It’s about the beauty of who we are and embracing that and knowing that we are all authentic,’ she says of the theme to her new show. By Jocelyn Vena Jessica Simpson Photo: MTV News Not only is Jessica Simpson returning to the world of reality TV for her new docu-series, “The Price of Beauty,” but she’s also giving fans some new music, thanks to the show’s theme song, “Who We Are.” Simpson worked with Billy Corgan , Evan Bogart, Shari Short and Kerry Brown on the track and said it really embraces the show’s theme about loving the person you are. “I ended up writing the song with some friends and it was about all these places that I’d gone to and the experience that I had,” she told MTV News about the track written specifically for the show. The tune reflects what she learned as she traveled the globe and observed that different cultures find different things beautiful. “It’s about the beauty of who we are and embracing that and knowing that we are all authentic — that every single person is different,” she added. “But they all have something different about themselves that they need to discover.” In the song, Simpson seems to answer critics with lines like “We’re beautiful/ Our flaws and all/ They’re beautiful to me/ It’s who we are, who we are/ It’s who we’re meant to be.” Filming the show also gave Simpson the power to silence her critics and the voices in her head. “I view the world very differently,” she said. “Everything’s not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, and that’s a really great place to be in. I know there’s nothing that anybody can say about me that will take me to a very low place, because I am stronger.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Jessica Simpson Related Photos The Evolution Of: Jessica Simpson

Juelz Santana Talks NYC Collabo With Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss, Fabolous

Santana divulges details on his ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley’ follow-up to Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Juelz Santana Photo: John Ricard/FilmMagic The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana have perhaps the biggest record in New York City right now with “Beamer, Benz or Bentley.” Santana recently told us about the next shout-out to the Big Apple — he’s lined up some of NYC’s finest for a track from his upcoming The Reagan Era mixtape. “We got another record for the mixtape,” Juelz explained of how he and Banks plan to follow up their current smash. “That record’s actually got me, Fabolous, Jadakiss and Banks on it. … We took the Estelle sample from ‘American Boy’ that goes ‘Take me to New York’ and kept repeating that. I sent it to everybody that I felt [could kill it], which was me, Fab, Banks and Jada. But me and Banks gonna have to do another one together with just me and him. That record is crazy. That Reagan Era is gonna be a problem — that’s why I been taking my time strategically building up. I think now is a better time. Every day I’m drawing more attention to myself.” While Juelz has the video for his record with Lil Wayne “Home Run” — also off of The Reagan Era — coming soon, he’s still excited about “Beamer, Benz or Bentley.” “I knew what that song was gonna be when we did the record,” Juelz said about his duet with Banks. “The beat is so unique, then you got two artists that’s never done a record before. And it’s a record that people would like to hear. It’s a ‘hood record and we was both spitting on there — you rarely get that anymore, especially with two artists like me and Banks. A lot of time people teaming up and they just making records because the names sound good. But the records don’t sound good because they either rushed or n—as just getting up just to get up. You know how they say when two artists get together and make a song how it is supposed to be? It completes everything we do. It’s radio, but it’s still hard. ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley,’ that’s still ‘hood rich. It captures the essence that people would have liked for it to have with me and Banks on the same record.” Santana says The Reagan Era will be out before the end of the month.
