The Flash Season 1 Episode 12 Recap: Peek-a-Boo!

Peek-a-Boo! We saw a new villain on  The Flash Season 1 Episode 12 . And while we didn’t love her nickname (sorry, Caitlin, you can’t name anymore baddies), we did not love she neutered Barry’s special abilities. This left it up to the S.T.A.R. labs team to thwart her evil efforts, which they did by determining that darkness was her Kryptonite. She ended the hour in an empty cell in the S.T.A.R. Labs Pipeline. Watch The Flash Season 1 Episode 12 Online On a related note, the Pied Piper talked Cisco into letting him out of his cell so he could explain the fate of Ronnie. Or, to be more accurate, why Dr. Stein did not leave the lab the night of the particle accelerator incident. Pied Piper viewed surveillance footage and noted out Stein (who was engaged in transmutation experiments) ended up caught in the blast, fusing with Ronnie in the process. The Pied Piper then knocked Cisco out (of course), prompting Cisco to later confess to Dr. Wells, Barry and Caitlin about what happened. He also admitted to why it happened: he’s been feeling guilty about sealing Ronnie inside the chamber during the explosion. Caitlin found it in herself to forgive him. Speaking of Caitlin: she got WASTED during a night out with Barry in which they sang “Summer Nights” at karaoke. Seriously! He ended up taking her home and getting her into her pajamas, acting like a gentlemen throughout. She told him, however, that any peek he sneaked was deserved because he has done so much “good” for people. You simply MUST watch Arrow online to relive this karaoke performance. Elsewhere on a busy Arrow Season 3 episode: Barry’s dad was stabbed in prison. The incident was payback for his assisting Joe with intel on Clay Parker’s boss/possible whereabouts. In the infirmary, Henry noticed a front page photo of The Flash, courtesy of Iris, and is clearly aware of his identity. But he played coy and he sent a message to this hero to be “careful” and that his father is “proud of him.” Following his karaoke performance, Barry got the number of a reporter for the Picture News, Linda Park. At the very end of the hour, fans witnessed former S.T.A.R. Labs subject Grodd. He’s set up base in the Central City sewer system, where he keeps busy by writing his name on the walls and abducting maintenance men. GULP !

The Flash Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: Lessons Learned?

Following The Flash Season 1 Episode 1 , a premiere that drew rave reviews and huge ratings for The CW, Barry Allen learned a few lessons on The Flash Season 1 Episode 2 . The follow-up installment served to remind viewers that he’s only a kid, after all, as opposed to other superheroes who take on their heroic tasks in adulthood (hi, Oliver Queen!). Watch The Flash Season 1 Episode 2 Online This week, we witnessed a clash of viewpoints between Joe West – the detective who raised Barry – and Dr. Harrison Wells, the scientist anxious to explore The Flash’s potential West is concerned that speed isn’t enough. Is Barry truly a warrior ready for battle? Wells and the S.T.A.R. Labs team, conversely, are happy to let Barry chase down other meta-humans… yet want to draw the line at rescuing kittens from trees. They have self-serving goals in mind. But “you don’t know what you don’t know,” West warns the team of scientists. He fears they will get Barry killed. This house also centered on what Barry doesn’t know, specifically the details in fighting crime at  warp speed. For example, he’s still flying past destinations and he occasionally rushes off so quickly he forgets to grab a change of clothes. Oops! Barry also requires extra amounts of fuel to power his new metabolism. You know, like 850 tacos in one sitting. And that’s one of the appeals of this new series: Barry is clearly having a blast. Examples: the guy turns his hand into a makeshift centrifuge; he “stops time” to tell Iris all the things he wish he could tell her, yet cannot (NOTE: Iris is fixated on the “red streak.” It sucks for Eddie, but she clearly has a crush. Big time.) As for the Villain of the Week, Multiplex could duplicate of himself, yet didn’t really stand out in any way. That’s fine, however. We know Captain Cold is on the way and Barry needs to be the main focus here for a bit early on. The episodes concluded with Joe realizing that Barry’s partnership with Wells is the only way Central City can remain safe, but also with him emphasizing the personal and vowing to Barry: “We’re going to figure [your mother’s murder] out together.” We then see Wells visiting Simon Stagg, who wants to capture this “man in the red mask” and redefine “what it means to be human.” At that, Wells drives a dagger into his peer, explaining that The Flash “must be kept safe.” What did everyone think of this installment? Robin Gibb Dead at 62

Robin Gibb, one of three brothers who made up the Bee Gees and their now-iconic 1970s sound, has died. The singer succumbed to cancer at 62. Gibb ” passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery,” said a statement, which was attributed to Robin’s family. He died in England at 10:47 a.m., according to his family. Diagnosed with colon and liver cancer, Gibb had been in a coma as he battled pneumonia earlier this spring, representative Doug Wright said. Doctors believe that Gibb had a secondary tumor, for which he had emergency surgery in 2010 for a blocked bowel and then had more surgery. The only surviving member of the three Bee Gees is brother Barry, 65. Robin’s twin brother, Maurice, died in 2003 from similar health problems. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame says on its website of Gibb’s band: “In the 1970s, the Bee Gees dominated dance floors and airwaves. With their matching white suits, soaring high harmonies and polished, radio-friendly records, they remain one of the essential touchstones to that ultra-commercial era.” Bee Gees – Stayin’ Alive News of his death set off a torrent of reaction in social media. Musician Bryan Adams, for instance, lamented “another great singer dying too young.” “The Bee Gees were/are the gold standard when it comes to pop/r&b melody, harmony and vocal arrangement. Massive loss,” wrote Claude Kelly. Fellow British band Duran Duran and current pop sensation Bruno Mars were among many who posted their condolences to Gibb’s brothers. [Photo: WENN.com]
